I can talk a lot of things about china. just say this. i was born in Beijing . i saw , heard and told many things about china. above all i like your videos very much. check my videos if you can. i made several videos about USA.hope we can become friend.
I am a Chinese live in american for 13 years. i am very interested what you talk about china. a lot of things you said right. a cheap hotel a foreigner can not check in because may be china governor don't want you to see our real Chinese life. 99% Chinese people do not live in hotel even if they have money to pay cheap hotel. Chinese people are frugal they save money by any chance.
i heard that hotels operating in mainland China must get a licence to " take in" foreign people. they are subject to inspection and some checks by authorities to be qualified for provision of accomodation services to foreign visitors. Those hotels are mostly above 4 stars.
@matelovelovelove Ur right about the licence. that's why if u r a foreigner,u can't randomly go to a small hotel and say "hey buddy,i wanna check in". But it doesn't have to b 4 stars. Lots of motels also have that qualification.
i i had herd by my friends that chinese are not allowed to access international websites such as facebook , youtube is that true ? and also they can only watch chinese moves since they believe that other movies would ruin their culture ?
@thelegaltrap Yes youtube and facebook are blocked, thought strangely some international news websites re not blocked. The movie part is not true, actually I would say none Chinese movies are much more popular. Foreign moviesare shown in movie theaters, and almost every movie in the world can be seen on verycd.com , I would say the average chinese watches more foreign movies then Americans do.
I'm Chinese, and although I wasn't born in China, I've relatives there. And you're wrong none Chinese movies aren't more popular. They watch some foreign entertainment such as anime, korean dramas and american movies, but after all, they still watch chinese entertainment from their own country, hong kong and taiwan. And yes, youtube and facebook are blocked in China.
@wingwaabuddha is it still so now? i mean the facebook blocked in China part.. l've got a cousin in china. she recently signed on facebook, how can you explain that?
@CZed91 she must be using proxy server....she can use non blocked ip addresses to access some blocked websites....usually the speed is slower... it can also sometimes be more work... but if you want to access facebook, that is the way to do it
I like the fact that you kept your interest for something and didn't judge fast eventhough you had a bad experience the very first time you were there

I like vlogs about these kinds of experiences. It's great that you take it so lightly because I'm sure I would be more negatively affected.

When they said we don't accept foreigners, did they say this in Shanghinese/Chinese or in English?
