  • Oh dear. I must agree in part with the comment just below, although this version of music that began following Vatican II in 1965 is what drove many Catholics away--despite its intent to attract followers. It's great that social networking can bring mass into the homes of many who will see it, but the Catholic mass, unlike some protestant forms of worship, exists not only for the reading of scripture and prayer, but also for the re-enactment of the sacrament of communion, absolution, fellowship.

  • This is not representative at all of the Catholic churches I've been to.

  • Where is the incense? Where is the choir? Where are the bells at the appropriate points during the Eucharist? This is not like it was when I was a child. This almost seems like the Catholic church is trying to be all things to all people at the expense of the Mass I know and love!

  • Gotta love the guitar players =)

  • why do you have guitars in the mass? please explain? where is the gregorian choir?

  • Guitars are killing the Catholic Church.

  • @holyholyholyorgankid the organ is much better and should only be used to help the chanter and not for entertainment.

  • Very allusive for Advent, folllowed by Christmas Eve when Christ was born in a Manger of Bethlehem. A great devotion for arrival of our Lord Jesus from his mother's womb. A great night when a star was shining brighter and all shephers went to the stable to adore him. As the song says "There's a new Kid in town"

  • Anathema sit.

  • That is one messed up version of Veni, Veni!

  • Also so called saints are people who tried to live their lives according to what Lord God told us. We can not pray to them because they are not Lord God, and they are not their where they are now to "chat" with Lord God or they don't have any power to be separate little Gods (like in ancient Greece or Egypt). The Chatholic Church made up lot of stuff to make money. In old days popes had whores, which I don't think differs any from now days, how such "institution" can be in service of Lord God.

  • Mary was a normal human being. Lord God had chosen her to be a mother of Son of God, because he wanted himself to help people living on earth. He wanted to sgow people the right way they should live to be saved, have sense in their lives. This was her assignment here on earth. We can not pray to Mary because she is not Lord God. Lord God said "you want have other Gods before me". Now Mary is is we don't know where, she died like everybody else. She was special, but not Lord God.

  • @4591rWaneleH It should be :"you won't have have any other gods before me".

  • Laws established by the church after the death of Jesus Christ are not the laws that Lord God gave us in the Old Testament (Bible), also are not the laws enforced by Jesus Christ, and also it says in the Bible that no one word can be changed from what God Lord told us, not taken away or added. The Chatholic Church added whole bunch of things that are not relevant to what Lord God said in the Bible.

  • Per Fr. John Hardon "We were at concelebrated Mass with the Holy Father with the Holy Father, and we were absolutely Forbidden to give Commnuion in the hands. Communion in the hand began, in the hand, with the publication of the Ditch Catechism WITH NOBODY's permission except the bishops- in effect, in principle seperated themselves from the Holy See. Onr country after another began to ask for permission, which the Dutch bishops NEVER asked for. In the very, very early Church, Communion in the

  • Communion was given in the hands, However, as the faith of the Christians WEAKENED IN THE REALRESENCE, by the 5th and 6th centuries Communion on the tongue BECAME MANDATORY, REMAINED MANDATORY until the present century. Behind Communion in the hand- is a WEAKENING, a CONSCIOUS, DELIBERATE WEAKENING of the Faith In The Real Presence. I was asked by the Catholic Conference of Catholic Bishops to DEFEND Communion ON THE TONGUE, WHICH I DID. To get enough votes to give communion in the hand,

  • hand, bishops who were retired, bishops who were dying, were solicited to vote to make sure that the vote would be affirmative in favor of communion in the hand. WHATEVER YOU CAN DO TO STOP COMMUNION IN THE HAND WILL BE BLESSED BY GOD." Fr. John A. Hardon SJ (whose cause is up for beatification) Any priest who favors the abusive communion in the hand, has lost the faith!

  • Man, thats sad. Maybe there is a better Catholic Church nearby? I uploaded our Midnight Mass, check it out, I am pretty happy with my local parish.

  • .

Remember Christians, the will of God is no Catholic, Protestant,Orthodox, Penticostal, Adventist, JW, Etc. NO DIVISION, Only Christians, holy, helping and sharing instead of buying and selling.

"That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." (John 17:9-21)

  • Thanks Father Jeff!!!

  • Wonderful catholic mass, Thank you father jeffery

  • Merry Christmas!

  • great job Father!

  • Awesome music. I especially liked the Alleluia. What is the Alleluia arrangement called?

    Nice homily.

  • hi father, In terms of the New Liturgical changes that were approved by the Holy Sea, I see its not being implemented... The invitation: The Lord be with you - the proper response would be: "and With your spirit", also the penintential right also has changes in it, the creed and a few other things.

The changes for the Southern Africa came into effect on the 1st sunday of Advent. are these implementations done on different times perhaps?

  • I was reading somewhere that the changes here in the US won't take place til 2010, however don't quote me on that. I just think I remember reading that somewhere.

  • From the communication received by the southern African bishops conference, The implementaions are done in 3 phases, as enforced by the Vatican. the 1st phase is the current ones, theres another one for 2010, and I know that the Echuaristic prayers will all change in 2011, resulting in a whole new missal.

I asked this, as I see america has not implemented these changes yet. In our diocese the congregation is struggling, so brace yourselfs when it does come into effect.

  • @StCopiaz I'm in the UK and I don't think the Bishops and people will accept the changes with the New Missal. Some of the wording is terrible.

  • FR Anscar Chupungo, consultant to the Vatican's CDW sais that since Vatican ll the Church has been marching with the times, acknowledging the changes in social and religious culture.

  • Will Latinised English make the liturgy more awesome? It will certainly sound mysterious, but will it be more prayerful?

    says Fr. Chupungeo

  • @John29270 since Vat II, vocations have dropped Dramatically, homosexuals and radicals were put into the seminaries..Only the traditional vocation are growing, and rightly so! The Pope knows what he is doing by bringing back the Latin Mass. He has requested that people who receive Communion from him MUST KNEEL and RECEIVE ON THE TONGUE because of the Hosts falling on the floor, being stolen, etc, etc. RECEIVE ON THE TONGUE WHILE KNEELING!

  • @pizzelle4u From the Last Supper on, Holy

Communion was, as the norm, continually given in the hand. So it was during the age of the martyrs. And it continued to be so during that golden age of the Fathers and of the liturgy after the peace of Constantine in 313 A.D. And it continued to be the common practice until at least the tenth century. Thus for over half of the life of the Church it was the norm.

  • @pizzelle4u

@pizzelle4u There will be no going back to pre Vat ll days... The majority of Catholics would not want it. Our relationship our Blessed Lord is timeless but the packaging that church use has changed for the better.
