this is such a beautiful song! hey, pls check out our band, we are still on the process of figuring the right tune for creating our own ambient music.. just type, "jam experiment video file 3 (feb 2, 2010)" .. you can also check our past videos on my account.. leave a comment, thanks!
did tim rutili shoot this video himself? where was it shot? some beach somewhere obviously, but i'm curouse,,,,anyways it's very califone fitting and awseome.
califone is grossly underrated. sometimes i think of course they need the attention they deserve, but another part of me hopes they remain an untouched (by the mainstream media) and beautiful little gem for those in the know.
i am investigating this band Califone. i know ppl who love them. here's what comes to mind: similar sound to Sunset Rubdown, i like the lyrics, unique, unconventional; video is sometimes unsettling, uses simple scenes, media, nothing flashy or high-tech, the shots are pretty neat (i'm no media expert, so this review is not reliable). end-thought: i want to see more of their work.
Califone have always been stupidly underappreciated, and the further we stumble into the 21st century, the more this music starts to feel both familiar and necessary: Roots and Crowns is bluesy and soulful without reverting to revivalist schtick, and experimental without relying on blind cut-and-pasting. It is old and new, dirty and clean, alienating and accessible, sweet and ugly, organic and industrial, doting and vicious.

I heard this song at a end of a movie named "the lost"
IT was done in a much slower pace and I really liked it, where can I find the slower version?
