  • Triple Triad actually taught you all of the rules. This one explains how the rules work and then says "You figure the rest out." yet no one had been able to explain what the numbers mean when you battle.I think that maybe each card ACTUALLY has a different power that your supposed to figure out on your own.

  • @toddcochran85 first number is power level, next letter is the type it is (power, magic, etc), next number is physical defense, last number is magical defense. the number that shows up when u put an attacking card down is the amount of points it gets against that card. sometimes u get lucky. you have to understand the game for it to be fun.

  • Triple Triad is real easy to understand. Get the higher numbers.

This game....It's confusing. It's the card battle that is confusing. During a battle, my card had 17 while my opponent had 5, but I still lost.....what the heck? Explain that

  • That first cactuar you get from skipping dicks anyone in Treno

  • Ur bad at tetra master... I'm sorry but LOL putting cards together with a frog? Lmfao

  • I'm at about 1600 wins right now. My team is an 8 arrow frog, 8 arrow Excalibur, 6 arrow viltgance, 7 arrow ark, and a 7 arrow Hades. I have not tried to get them all recently, though I got pretty close. I might start a new game just to collect them all.

  • how is this more easier. this uses way more luck than triple triad - which was always consistent with numbers.

  • I have an 8 arrow excalibur, and 1000 wins. If any one wants to see my game, message me.

  • @YourLiveLyrics oh yeah... i hit that number yesterday.. i still only have 60 types of cards still though... i only play to get them all.

  • Your win and loss stats are almost the same. Not what I'd call "good".

  • Triple Triad was OUTSATANDING.

I didn't get this at all.

  • @canuckleful 100% agree with you, that's why im on youtube, i've tried reading guides and they've nrver helped me, I need visual explanation I think.

  • Never understood how to play it.

  • You placed your cards together? that's a big NO NO!!!

  • OMFG i remember this sooo much from my childhood thanks!

  • yeah the tetra master is more easy than triple triad

  • yeah the tetra master is more easy than triple triad

  • You got some hectic cards there man!

  • Triple Triad is SOOO much better. I don't really get this one.

  • @violet

The instructions were IN GAME. It was very easy to understand. Unless of course you don't know how to count.

  • FF9 had one of the best minigames ever... unfortunately it was not the Tetra masters card game but more the chocobo hot and cold game. Searching for treasures on a chocobos back... what more could one want.^^ This game could have been my favorite final fantasy game if stat maxing wasnt so annoing. I mean cmon playing the game until disc 3 without gaining a level and running away from almost every battle.... thats no fun at all. At least not for me....

  • this one is more fun than the ff8 one.

  • Tetra master is probably the easiest and funniest card game in the FF series xD i had almost all cards too :P unfortunatley my game crashed but i got a file where i can beat the last boss easily so i can still play at that file but when i get to the antlion on the second disk it crashes. :'(

  • Only the simplistic don't understand the rules of this game. It's very elementary once you get the hang of it.

This is like saying you prefer to play Checkers just because you don't want to learn the rules of Chess.

  • poker

  • how the fuk u play that

  • it's like playing cards in FF8 but a lot more confusing

  • it really is

  • @jaysds123 YES!!

  • I'm not sure if you get anything for playing Tetra Master but i know the final fantasy 8 card game is more fun.

  • IX all the way.

  • i kinda dont get this game in my opinion FF8 is better and funner

  • I have a noob question,i know that the triple traid in 8 are benefic for items and poweful spells, but the tetra master for what is benefic?i mean, what's the use playig tetra master?

  • i get a little confused when it comes to the letters in the cards. I know what PMXA and that F=15 but what about the others like a B or C. what number value do they have.

  • I must say, maybe this isn't the "best" game in the series... but it is my favorite. There's so much more to do!

  • the mini games in 9 are so addictive. Sometimes I get bored of the story and play tetra master or hot and cold for hours at a time lol

  • Hey how can I get the excalibur 1??? Please tell me, even i can't get the excalibur 2!!! Excalibur is the second to the strongest sword of Steiner right??? ( Hey, what is the difference of this two???)

  • In Treno, buy all the acclaimed items, sell them to different buyers in the city. A fat rich noble, the schiolar in the synthesis shop, and a red mage in the same area as the other 2 guys.

    - rat tail, unes mirror, dogas artifact.

By disc 4, a Magical Fingertip spawns, then you give it to the old guy in Daguerro. Talk to him twice to recieve Excalibur. It has Climhazzard, which is cool when fighting the Yans on Vile Island

  • Excalibur 2 is uneccessary if you get the ragnorok. Ragnorok has shock, which hits at 9999. Doomsday sword with Ragnorok does the job too.

  • Has anyone ever actually achieved top rank in this Tetra Master game?

How the hell do you level up a "Fang" card to "A"? And how do you get 100 different cards with 100 different arrow?...

  • Right now I have 94 out of 100 cards. I'm still playing it!

  • All with different arrows too? How are you managing that? I once had 90something cards, but they weren't all with different arrows, and I gave up on trying.

  • I don't know about that. I'm just trying to get all 100. I didn't even know you could level up the arrows! I don't have a full understanding of the game. I just found out about multiple card battles! All I need is the fat chocobo, chocobo, wraith, and 3 other cards to complete the collection. I have all the eidolon, magic, and ship, and special, and weapon cards

  • I don't think you level up the arrows... apparently to achieve the top rank in the cards, "Master" rank, not only do you need all 100 cards, but each card must have a different arrow pattern... and you must level up each card to have an attack of "A". It's too hard. I'd be shocked if anyone has ever done it. Those last cards are pretty easy to get. Good luck!

  • For the type of a card to change it has to battle other cards. Fortunately it doesn't matter whether it wins or loses, but as far as I know a card only has a 0.56% chance of changing from an X type to A each time it battles. As for the arrows, there's no way to change the arrows on a card, you'll have to collect cards with different arrow arrangements. There's 256 possible combinations so it is more possible than you might think at first, but whether it's worth doing is debatable at best.

  • i get a little confused when it comes to the letters in the cards. I know what PMXA and that F=15 but what about the others like a B or C. what number value do they have.

  • A card's stats are in hexadecimal, meaning that they represent the values 0-15 with numbers and letters. A stat ranges from 0-15, with 0-9 representing those values and A-F referring to 10-15 in ascending order.

The exact number a stat will be varies though and falls within a range depending on it's value, so for example an F means the number will be between 240-255. Hope this helps, there's an excellent faq on Gamefaqs under FF9 which explains far more about the game than I can say here.

  • mayb not easier, but quite more boring xD

  • Easier than FF 8 one ? C'mon man. It's like 10 times more complicated. In FF 8 I've started winning right away. In 9 I haven't even played this game later because after 20 loses I felt bored and confused what's happening. I still don't know what's going on in this game.

  • same.i have the quistis card.zell card.seifer card.squall card.eden card.shiva card nearly every fucking card in ff8.and the galbadian rules arnt all that bad either.this game...the "card battles" numbers appear...your card randomly loses even if its an alexandrian fucking card against a fucking flan one...WTF IS GOING ON

  • 3P12 The three is attack power. The P is attack type. P is physical, M is magical, and X is "weakest stat", I think. 1 is physical defence. 2 is magical defence.

  • X isn't weakest. P and M is basic then X is stronger wth A being the strongest...

its been so long since i played that i cant remember exactly what it means... I think: -

X - it chooses your opponenets lowest defense number to attack against

A - same as above but it also chooses your highest defense to defend with

Anyone: feel free to correct me if im wrong

  • I never said X was weak. X _chooses_ the weakest stat to attack.

  • Ah i see, sorry there - I misunderstood :)

  • Actually that time it was my fault. I worded it badly.

  • i love this game. i tried collecting all cards but i only ended up having 94/100

  • ma sei un cretino nn sai giocare

  • Not as good as the FFVIII card game. But still, a nice side game.

  • You have such good cards but you only used a couple of them like that skeleton is a good card......for the beginning of the game, but that last time when you won you did make some really good moves and even tho you lost twice, all that matters is you beat him, well that the way a like to look at it when i play anyways haha

  • OMG HOW DO you play this??? My cards just randomly get beaten even though they have a higher 2P than the opponents P defence

  • afff q lixooo ! ! ! ! !

  • i love playing tetra master

  • on one saving i have all cards :D its only a shame that you can only have 1 of each kind

  • who was this against they use all ships

  • the four armed person in dueggero, u need to hav flying chocobo or airship to get there

  • i never saw the point of this game

  • I dont get how the card game works

I'm just playing this game for the first time because when it came out I was too young to understand the story cuz I didnt feel like reading so now I'm playin it

what determines the amount of points a card has when It goes into a card battle?

even though I'm probly not gonna get an answer till a month from now, I need to know

  • Ill try to explain it it took me a while to figureout to (I was like 13 when I played this but here is how it is)

-card battles are determened by those stupid arows if the arows meet then is the battle

    Lets say card has 5P43

    5 goes for attack power

    P - physical attack (or M magical)

    4 goes for P defence

    3 for magical defence

I hope you understand it a little. Still ff 8 had a better card game :)

  • oh and X means it will attack weaker defence of the card.

Completely forgot about that. Its been few years after all. I hope youll enjoin this

  • ooooh I get it thanks

  • uhh actually wait a sec

it sounded simple to me but when I went on the game the only cards I have are 0P00 or 0n00 and 1 flan is 0n01

Which number are you talking about?

  • get rid of those cards theyer not good. If you check this vid closely he has cards like this to (at 1:19) thing is that those are usualy the worst cards they cant get much better.

and for the card you wrote its

    0 attack

    P physical

    0 P defence

    1 M defence

anyway even if you have higher attack it doesnt mean you always win for some reason.

  • all of my cards have basically those stats cuz I just started the game

I'm only up to the village after blank gets petrified

  • compared 2 triple triad this sux man

  • tetra master owns triple triad

  • you need to know what the numbers mean in order to master this game. arrows arent everything here.

  • im stuck on this part where you go a card tournament FOR ME ITS REALLY HARD....

  • my collection was 97 cards.... the collections of my apprentice was 99 if i remember right

  • Obviously the four-armed man

  • It looks like your early in the game. Your very thoughful in this, You are very skilled, I am so reckless.

  • im still not 100% on how to play this card game.

  • why? you don't like ?

  • The way you use the Frog card is mean. Effective, but mean. Good job getting your Grand Dragon back.

  • i am not a duelist for nothing

  • yu-gi-oh! lol

  • Actually 'Duelist' is a common term among TCG players

  • @janlukky YU-GI_OH RULES!!

  • oh and great win in the second game

  • who are you playing?

  • I think that it's the Four-armed Man.

  • probably a ghost in memoria

  • I loved this card game. It was alot better than the one in FF8. In the FF8, They would always take your Rarest card. In this one it's usually a random card. and in this one if all cards are taken you COULD gain them all back by placing your last card down. But in the other one its hopeless if your in the same situation.

  • I love tetra master! they should make it a PSP game!

  • Nice move with that last card.

  • Yeah tetra master rocks ^^

Even though I must say that luck is sometimes playing a far too big role in that game.

  • lol i had better cards and you did better then me.

  • like i always say heart of the cards

    luck & a good hand
