So great that the Freehand gang is doing this. This is a show that needs to be on Australian tv. Well done Yas! Haven't met you but heard good things. Keep it up mate.
Loving the production values of the series, I seriously hope you get funded, already a fan and would watch full episodes faithfully. Is there a place where the music you are using in the episodes is listed? Best of luck!
@Linne1505 Hi there. Right now, we are producing this show on a 0 dollar budget as a teaser for Australian TV networks. We want to show them there is an audience so they will give us cash to make full half hour episodes. There are going to be 8 web episodes in total. We're up to number 6 now with number 7 dropping tomorrow and 8 on Monday or Tuesday next week. Help us spread the word so we can make it longer x
Why are they all older? And the ones in their late 20s look about 45. Great for the lesbo stereotype - broad aussie accents, withered, chubby and boyish. Awesome.
The reason I (and a lot of the girls I know) found it so hard to find our place in society - struggling to date boys, unsure why we felt 'different', too scared to tell anyone how we felt - was because we couldn't relate to one single person out there in the public sphere.
Cant wait for this finally an aussie representation of lesbians, and yeh so what theres no coloured ladies etc. its a step in the right direction :)
Really have to give it up for Ilene chiaken though(creator of The L Word & The Real L word) she really pathed the way for shows like this to become accepted within society, and for that i am grateful!!
Looks great, hope it's on air soon. It's funny how people get about shows not representing their community, like TV shows can represent everyone. I don't think Two and a Half Men represents all straight men. Desperate Housewives doesn't represent all staright woman either. Funny that.
What a great looking show, engaging people and excellent production values. One million times more interesting than fat families trying to lose weight :-)
Encouraging & supportive? Most of these girls have never made me feel encouraged or supported when out & about, in fact they have been down right rude to me & a number of people I know. I am all for supporting & I'm heavily involved in numerous aspects of our community, right down to the level of lobbying for law changes. However I'm concerned to think that young girls coming out would look up to people who make claims such as "I'm the town player". Why could this not be a diverse cross section?
wooo im actually really excited for this sucks that its not on free to air i dont have fox.....but again very excited for a show like this to be on aussie tellys...im big fan of 'the l word' which i think really pathed the way for people to accept shows about LGBT community and to create more tv shows like it =D
id like to see people who arent upper middle class and rolling in it. how about the transwoman who has to work her way around making a living in carpentry, the person who has to come out to their boss, who WORKS and deals with the real world outside of bondi beach and owning a club or whatever.
& all the comments below are the reason most dont get involved with the lesbian community - women are so bitchy & nasty towards their own kind - regardless of whether you think this is a fair representation or you know the women & dont like them, how about you be encouraging & supportive? what is living in a cloud of hate going to do except make YOU feel mad? just be excited that we live in a day and age where this can even be shown on TV without women being hurled off to insane asylums or jail!
I'm so tired of the people who moan about how they are not represented in the community. To paraphrase Harvey Feirstein, if you want to see yourself represented, then get involved. Yas and her friends belong in this community, they worked hard to get this made and they deserve to present it any way they want to. From the teaser, this looks like a great show with fantastic production values. I could not be more proud of the girls for pulling it together!
@msnickybryson totally agree, why the hell are people whinging, yeah your not represented, well thats coz there is NO LESBIANS on tv pretty much at all especially in Australia, stop whinging and be happy they are actually making a show to represent ANY lesbians
I really don't know why/who a few of you are calling "slags" I know alot of these women and they are all lovely, respectful and intelligent members of not only the gay community but the community at large. I think it is sad that you can't see the show for what it is but feel the need to put people down because of your own insecurities. It is one thing for gays to be persecuted by the straight community but then to look on here and see the horrible comments from people within the gay community m
also, jademelbourne, On another note, u mention 'YOU two horrors' assuming u think I am also gay. I am not, but I clearly hv no problem with it when I support such a wonderful, captivating program with good looking chicks and would happily watch something that is bright and bubbly for entertainment. ... . it is time for u to let go and move forward!! .....go away...
And how about that special k queen town bike? More like lezzo mafia wannabe with her troop of iced out feral baby lezzers in tow. About as friendly and attractive as a fa*t in an elevator... Very tragic scene indeed!
@damnyou73 I disagree. As a producer of the series, I can tell you they are far from boring, fake or plastic. What sort of characters would you like to see on a show like this?
@damnyou73 maybe you could make a film that represents whichever part of the 'community' you feel more aligned with??? I wonder if there really is any relevance in using the inclusive term community if it means that every type of media or social text needs to represent everyone! We are all different. We are all women - I can't see that Generation L is attempting to say this is anything other than a bio of the girls in the film. Go GIRLS :)
@nyce0405 Thank you! We watching the Real L Word with great interest. Open to ideas on how to make this show a better representation of the lesbian world so hit us with it!
What's happen to the multiculturalism in Australia TV/web series land? It's disappointing to see the creators/producers lacking in diversity casting once again. Out of curiosity I intend to watch an episode or two, just in case these characters can offer life experiences (true diversity) more prominently than TLW/TRLW counterparts. I must admit it's going to be hard to get turned on.

Umm, more attractive and fascinating subject matter. Sorry but, none of these dykes have any appealing qualities. But then again, that's the Sydney scene for you.
@jademelbourne I don't agree with ur comment jademelbourne. I think these chicks have very appealing qualities. I'm a Victorian who can find good qualities all over our gr8 nation. Aussie chicks are the MOST appealing than anywhere else I think.
@TheLyds01 I would feel sorry for you only I like it when people such as yourself with such appalling taste are attracted to similar fuglies. I especially love it when you two horrors hook up, swap spit and u-haul- therefore canceling yourselves out of the market. That makes me happy!
@jademelbourne Hahahahaha Jademelbourne you just sound like a fat ugly dyke that fled to Melbourne because no Sydney women would touch you.....Jealouys sucks hey!!! Dont worry hun....keep your chin!
@jademelbourne It that makes u happy I feel sorry for you. For u must hv had something happen in ur life that makes u such a horrible specimen as to think people dying is a good thing. On another note. If u don't like it, don't watch it. Also, y even bother commenting on or watching something that u don't like?? Makes me think u don't hv much of a life.
@jademelbourne If people dying makes u happy, I feel very sorry for u! For u must hv had something really wrong happen to u in ur life to think that people dying is a good thing. Also, if u don't like it y watch it?? or y even bother commenting??? The fact that u hv done so, when u claim (by ur comment 'you two horrors' and 'cancelling yourselves out') that it is a discomfort for u, makes me think u hv nothing better to do with ur life, or ur curious and perhaps a closeted gay??
