  • Not only racehorses will speed up towards jumps after they go over the first. My horse is a TBxQHxPaint. He, when I first rode him in a practice show, took off after our first jump. I couldn't slow him down that much, and he was moving fast. We did pretty good, and stayed together (thank god he likes me), but he prefers to move fast as soon as we go over the first jump. Some horses do that, and you just learn to deal with them. Maybe this one was having a bad day.

  • My friend and I probably would've been in that arena, throwing that girl to the ground and screaming in her face. I'm sorry, but if you REALLY care about show jumping, you wouldn't GALLOP an ex racehorse over jumps. Also, he isn't JUST off the track, otherwise he wouldn't know HOW to jump. Trust me, I've owned a racehorse, they have two speeds: slow and FAST. And on a better note, she has a pretty good seat :)

  • @Maffie3Marxx444 My trainer owns an ex-racehorse. She's been jumped, cantered, galloped, and has done dressage as well. It also depends on whose riding them. I've ridden her as well, and I don't like it because she likes to move and I prefer slow horses. But the people that I know who have ridden her can get her to gallop but stay calm.

  • in the beggining he actually has a nice steady showjumping canter :P

  • she;s not stupid because the horse stopped itseld !??? it's not bolting or taking off with her either so it's not 'hot'

  • she did have a really good seat though. i don't think you should be so harsh.

  • This horse can't be "just off the track" . Stop critizing other peoples riding and worrk about your own for a change.

  • @GrayPony9901 exacly :)b:)

  • As my coach would say

"You're best friend while on the back of a horse, is a half halt" :P

  • she needs to collect him because hes being lazy with his feet , where hes going to fast. she has no control over him and needs to have him in a callected canter!

  • i watch my mistakes and it helps watching these kids.

  • What a fun ride, and I like how she didn't smack the horse like a lot of girls I've seen at shows who fall off. I was glad to see she then proceeded to move his feet. Did she get back on, do you know? She did a good job; one way to learn more is to to ride a horse a tad too much for you; and for all we know (I'm assuming you don't know her) the horse could've been nervous.

  • "Steeple Chase! How do you mean I'm not supposed to touch the jumps? I can jump straight through them, as long as I don't fall and make it to the other side! XD haha."

Hm, love horses like these. As soon as they get in the surrounding with a lot of people and a competitive vibe they are back in racing-spirits within minutes.

  • Wow as an owner of an ottb I thought she did an okay job. She wasn't too much in his face even though he was getting hyper. Most of yall have obviously never owned an ottb. They can be perfectly calm and fine at home but when they go to shows they can get hot because all the excitement reminds them of being at the track. So many people are too quick to judge..it's a shame.

  • number one your making him go way to fast number two ik in english the reins must be tights but thats WAY to tight and three yu need to learn how to stay on

  • if he's "just off the track" why is he doing fast lead changes, not to mention jumping courses this high?

  • Just cause she did her best on a hyper, amped up horse, makes her stupid? This reminds me of what happend to me. If you are an Equestrian, or ride horses, you KNOW you've tried to get on a horse too hyper, or too challenging for you. I know I have.

  • i fell off yesterday jumping and i landed ont the jump cup ouchh

  • wow wer did she get her crop the twine shop no wonder she fell d horse was to embareesed to b seen wit dat cheap girl on his back :)

  • There's no way this horse is "just off the track" and its hardly particularly "hot". She's riding it too forward yes, but wow I've seen far worse!

  • I held my breath during that whole video. She made me so nervous. I'm surprised the horse didn't fall over the jumps she was flying at, at 100 mph

  • why do yall keep sayin "whip" like thats not what it is??? that looks like the whip i've seen tons of world level barrel raers use... and a few small barrel racers too

  • yeah she is wayyyy to inexpericened for this horse. she needs a horse that is alot calmer

  • Wow. Im not so sure she is stupid compared to the video description and some of these comments. Just because he is an OTTB does not make him a bad horse. Yes they do get hyped up at shows. She did a really good job of handling him! It might of been his first time, and you do not know her riding skill level. You can't say she is inexperienced just because she is on a green horse. And as for the comment "I want a horse my friends can come ride." So you want a pony ride? Some people need to grow up

  • I say who gives a flying fuck :] :] :] i don't understand why everyone bitches about everyone else's riding. shut up and focus on becoming a better rider yourself.

  • She's not necessarily a bad rider but she rides too much in her hands. Rather than being extremely tight in the horses mouth, why not have contact (not pulling) just a feel in his mouth and check him up. If she keeps riding in his mouth like that his mouth will get hard and then she'll have a really hard time stopping him.

  • I kind of wonder if this was an IEA show, where you go and ride different horses, be it on the flat or jumping. If so, that would explain why she was having so much trouble. I let two of my horses go for an IEA show and i will never again allow it. Those riders get nervous, pull so hard on the horses mouthes, and can be very sloppy because they dont know the horse. Sure she wasnt 'calm and collected' but to be honest, my ARABIAN canters faster than that horse was going lol.

  • Seriously? I've seen many a worse round. The rider is at least trying to balance the horse in her corners; yes, obviously they're both overfaced for this show, but a few of my hunter rounds after 3 years of training my OTTB looked like this. And just FYI, THIS RIDER WILL NEVER SEE THIS! You guys can judge and villify all you want, but it's not going to change anything!

  • wow some of you guys are mean. shes a good rider, yes ill admit she needed slightly shorter stirrups and probably no "whip" but i never saw anything that was HER fault that caused her to fall off her horse. if you guys havent ridden a horse lay off its not an easy sport no matter what you see or hear

  • She's not riding all that correctly and using a piece of what is that? a rope? Thoroughbreds are naturally high strung spirited horses and she's running that thing like there's no tomorrow. She's not really in control the horse is knocking down almost every pole. This horse needs a rider who knows what they are dealing with and not some well tempered horse. She could get herself seriously hurt and ruin a perfectly good horse.

  • the whole thing was out of control, they were both too nervous and should have scratched.

  • When I Saw This I Thought That She Needs A Horse Her Level, And That Doesnt Mean Shes Stupid! Just Not Experianced. But When I Saw The Rope Or What Looks Like Twine As A Whip, Thats When I Started Thinking She Was Alittle Screwed In The Head

  • she has no control, a great horse stupid rider! she needs a horse her leave and shes rushing to the fences and if fast and wild is her style well shes not gunna get far at all! i mean really people common sense really

  • I really don't think she did that bad, EVERY horse is different Tis horse was probably calm because SHE was calm. Yes they have things to improve on, but TB's in genrall are a amped up breed of horse, that is why they are used for so many things, I think the only thing Iv'e never seen a TB doing is a draft pull for ovius reasons. Iv'e seen them on the track, XC, jumping, Barrals and even pulling an amish cart.

  • First of all, her stirrups were too short, legs really far up on the horse, and she was pulling way too hard on the horse's bit when she got to those jumps, giving the horse mixed messages. It could either mean, telling the horse to stop or just yanking on the bit for no reason at all.

  • You dumb fucking bitch! (Yes you, LoveSportHorses) Your the worst rider possible, so shut the fuck up. She did fine for a bad day. Bitch.

  • i think we can all agree they both need more training, the horse was hot, and she had a very hard time controling him. :)

  • the horse went to the side i dont blame her.

  • I ride hot OTTBs, in fact my horse is an OTTB, and he has his "I'm gonna bolt and see if my rider holds on!" moments because that's what he was trained to do since he was like 3 years old. He's been off the track for 1 year now. But anyways, I've fallen off of him and, let's just say, my friend laughed until she decided to sit on him and got her ass bucked off! DON'T JUDGE! Hot horses are hard even for the most experienced riders (No I am not calling myself "the most experienced") Just saying...

  • @horsesanddolphins

I've seen TONS of OTTB's and I have yet to have seen one with correct training do something like this. I blame the rider because this is absolutely dangerous and irresponsible for her and the horse. If I were her, it's obvious this horse is either nervous, not ready or simply to green. In that case, she should have pulled out because it's not worth it to risk injury to horse or rider. I don't think the horse needs to be blamed for this one.

  • @BLiSSFULxFiLLY Holy hell, do you really spend all this time replying to people's comments that say that the horse had a moment? Honest to god, horses have moments! Just yesterday, my horse bolted on me while I was cantering him. I'm not blaming the horse nor the rider. As my trainer says, SHIT HAPPENS! We all screw up, I bet even you screw up while riding. The best of the best screw up.

  • @horsesanddolphins

Does it matter? I'm not saying horses don't have moments. However, this kind of crap doesn't just start out of the blue at one show. This frustrates me because I had to deal with a horse who thought it was awesome to run around like this. It sucks to reverse and it's dangerous as hell and if people say she is a great rider, they are seriously not seeing the larger picture of the matter.

  • @BLiSSFULxFiLLY Sometimes this can happen out of the blue. Even the most gentle of horses can totally change at a show because of the difference in energy. I've ridden a horse who did the same thing at a show once. And I don't think anyone has said she is a great rider. But she could be good, just not on that horse. No reason to judge her right away. That's being a jerk and NO ONE will want to talk to someone who judges all the time.

  • @horsesanddolphins

I know that it can, I'm not saying it never does but I am telling by the manner in which she rides in and the horses way of going. I was at a show and had a normally bomb proof horse who just lost it. Regardless, it's error on her part to just go barreling around the place like it's no big deal. It's completely dangerous and she needed better judgement. What I find it awful is that people say she is such a great rider when she isn't because of misjudgment the ENTIRE time.

  • @horsesanddolphins

I am also not trying to say she is a horrible rider, what I am saying is what she did is bad. A rider needs to be able to think smart and ride smart, and one of those went totally out the window. It's where I see people trying to defend her and say she is great is what bothers me because what she did isn't great. Another thing is them blaming on the horse. 99% of the time it's rider error, and this is a classic rider error. Would you barrel around like this at a show?

  • @horzelver17 :) I agree

  • Number one

You never call some one stupid its rude

How you like it if You fell and i called you Stupid

shes probably a better rider than you

so you should think or at least use your brain before you talk post and type

  • @horzelver17

How is she a good rider when she risk both her safety and her horses safety by galloping like a idiot around the arena?

  • @Baskovia You do know there are shows like that right? Its a requirement for points in order to get in to Albion college here in michigan. Thought I'd let you know :)

  • Lol I hate typos and when I forget to add a word. When I said I have rode different breeds and different styles I did not mean OF jumping. Don't know where that came from. I do jump not a lot but either way I meant including jumping. Lol I am so having an off day :)

  • she did the right thing when she fell. We can all fall off at the stupidest things! I fell off not long ago when I cantered without stirrups and went to a trot and i lost my balance (after doing it about a million times!). sometimes things happen! the best of riders fall off over silly things, doesnt make you stupid or bad. Just a bad moment lol

  • do we even know for sure if this is an OTTB? either way, they need to be more under control. They may be in competing in jumpers, but safety comes first. He may only be crazy at shows , but if this is the case, it's time to bring him back down to trot and do a couple of controlled, calm circles before jumping again. I'm sure she has a trainer, and the last thing she needs is a bunch of people calling her stupid.

  • @xTakingFlightx

    Amen!

  • i agree, maybe she is not that good, but everyone has to start somewhere, i also dobt this horse is straight of the racecourse, it would not jump fillers otherwise

  • Okay, so PLEASE STOP SAYING THIS LADY IS STUPID!!! She is like a wicked awesome jumper! So maybe bringing an of the track thoroughbred wasn't the SMARTEST thing to do, but please, this is show jumping. Need for speed? All about speed? And If you've ever RODE A THOROUGHBRED, maybe you'd understand how easily they can get psycho!

  • @apcodyody

I've been around OTTB's since I can remember. If properly trained, they are fantastic horses and incredibly skilled. To call this rider and wicked awesome jumper is ridiculous. She is putting her safety and her horses safety on the line by galloping like crazy throughout everything (for example :45's). And I've also seen a ton of show jumping. Yes, you go fast but you go controlled fast, noticed how many poles she knocked down? It shows she was going to fast and reckless.

  • How can you class this girl as stupid....and the horse has just come off the track? Well it seemed to be going well for a horse fresh off the track, until it shyed at the cone causing the girl to loose her balance. Can't see anything wrong.... bar the whip (WTF!)

  • Wow. Anyone who's ACTUALLY trained OTTBs would know that no matter how calm and perfect they jump at home, they can get really amped up at shows. She was probably holding him back with her hands out of necessity, as he obviously wasn't listening to her seat. Yes, she should've had her stirrups a little shorter, and maybe warmed him up better before her round (and wtf is that whip?), but that doesn't mean she's stupid. She did a good job with a difficult horse. Lay off, people!

  • @esvolpe I agree. If she had no experience, etc she would have gone off course, fell sooner, ran in to something, etc. But, for the most part she kept him somewhat controlled. Fast yes, but is this a hunter or jumper class? Perhaps she was supposed to be going fast, but she did try to keep him under control. He appreared more hot to me than out of control. My one gelding would stop in the ring and not move, or he would take off, even though he was great at home. So i understand too :)

  • @esvolpe She shouldn't hold him with her hands. Race horses get prepped to go faster by the jockey holding them then letting them go. She should have been soft with her hands and suppled him. I have a thoroughbred that is fast. When I am soft with my hands so is she! :)

  • @JumpingPerfection121 You're lucky your TB is so easy to calm down. I'd imagine this one (like most that I've trained and my own personal OTTB) wouldn't react the same. Of course it's not ideal, but at some point you have to hold them with your hands or you simply have no control. If you notice, she's steering her horse just fine and even picks up all her correct leads. Assuming this is a jumper round, I don't see anything wrong with it (other than a rail down) until she falls.

  • @esvolpe He was too high in his frame & was jumping rather flat in his back. Had she had suppled him & encouraged him by praising him I imagine he would have been softer.Sure you do have to hold them, but not 24/7. When you get lined up for a jump you should soften, because if you don't then the horse will fight you & learn to be fussy & stiff upon the approach. If she'd have given him a larger release then he wouldn't have knocked a rail. It's always the riders fault if the hind knocks the rail.

  • @JumpingPerfection121 I'm not saying she rode it perfectly, I'm just saying she's not a terrible, "stupid" rider like a bunch of people are saying. Not everyone has the means (or want) to buy a horse that's already been trained and shown for them.

  • @esvolpe She's not a terrible or stupid rider at all. We all have faults as a rider and someone could pick at us and critique us all. I do think the person who video taped this shouldn't have said stupid girl falling off.

  • Can someone explain to me why she's stupid?

  • I love how the top 2 comments are completely opposite

  • bahaha

  • Clearly the rider isn't a great rider just looking at her position. The horse though I don't believe is just off the track as he does flying lead changes. I've owned and retrained OTTB and have had to teach them lead changes as in racing they don't learn that. Also he looks like he's been schooled a bit over jumps, but not enough scholling with courses.

  • @breanneburtch to be honest, it all depends on the trainer of the OTTB. Some do train more than needed before they are raced. My one gelding i had would collect and move out very nicely, and horses naturally know lead changes, they just have to "Re-learn" to do them with us riders on them lol. I still wonder though if this is a jumper or hunter class.

  • I don't think she's stupid. As for the crop, it's common. I've ridden OTT and OT horses, I'm no jockey, but I am an exercise rider and I've ridden event horses before. Also, it's not a whip... there's a difference... We have riding CROPS/BATS then we have lunge WHIPS... length difference. I would agree that she needs to release that poor horse's face, but considering that it may be his first circuit show? I'd say not bad... especially if she wants him to be a jumper. Though they need some work.

  • so does any one know what she's doing at about o:17 with the rains?

  • I know nothing about jumping or riding at shows, but even I know that was WAY too fast and sloppy. You can tell that horse is too hot to be doing anything but track races. The poor thing needs some more training before doing shows or anything of that nature.

  • Wait a freaking Second is this Girl Using a under over whip? I have been riding for over 10 Years

not that great of a rider some lessons could help her.

  • oh my word! a good rider? ya gotta be kiddin me! i've been ridin for two years and i've got a horse thats worse than that and I can ride better than that, BAREBACK o.o some one needs to teach the girl how to sit still and listen to the horse -_- jeeez!

and any one can pop over a jump at highspeed...

  • I think u shud collect him alittle before the jump.. And thn release :))

  • Maybe if this is someone elses horse and they asked her to hop on for this show... then shes got guts and some skills, and they may have placed, but personally I would have alm9ost asked this horse to STOP flat out, middle of the class and ask for a little more controlled forward movement. This is crazy dangerous for both of them and Im glad it ended with ehr unbalanced self falling at a side step instead of them both barrelling through a fence and falling. Nice horse though, hope hes loved :)

  • @Justasam

Adding to the other comment! I would have done the exact thing. I would have stopped and just pulled him a few circles and get him to just relax and as soon as he felt relaxed, I would go for a jump. If he is rushed again, I'd either quit or try another circle before the next jump and repeat till the end of the course and use it just as a teaching moment for the horse. I hate what that teaches the horse and I've had to deal with it before, not fun.

  • The only comments aying shes a good rider are from people with little or no experience themselves... yes she can mostly sit and -stay on- (kind of) what this horse is doing, which is extremely fast, flat, agitated GALLOPING around a jumper course (recipe for disaster) but shes pretty sloppy and doesnt look truly balanced. The fact that shes okay doing this to her upset horse shows shes a bad rider. End of story.

  • @Justasam I have been riding most of my life, so no i am not inexperienced. I have rode many different breeds and different styles of jumping. Imo that horse is barely doing a handgallop. My Arab canters faster than that horse! The horse was hot, a lot of OTTB's are. I think they both need work, but not horrible. I've seen much worse. Is this a hunter or jumper class? That would explain her speed either way. May i ask why you think this horse is upset?

  • @Justasam Oh, the experience part i was referring to where you stated that anyone saying she did ok has little to no experience. Everyone has their own opinions :D

  • @Justasam

    Finally a sensible comment.

  • stiff*

  • Honestly if the horse is still jumpy even in a show you got walk the horse in a few circles till they calm down espically an off the track race horse. To be honest that horse looked a bit stuff and PLEAE LET GO OF THE REINS IF YOUR GONNA FALL.

  • @exxcel19 Why woulod you let go of the reins when you fall? Do you want the horse to run around freaking out?

Also, is this a Hunter class, or a jumper class? That would say a lot about her speed....

  • @PriestessSati because your yanking on your horses mouth, tell me would you want to be yanked suddenly when your already spooked? Also if the horse suddenly spooks again you can be dragged with them causing more injury on your part and the horses mouth.

  • @exxcel19 So you would rather let it go so it could run and hurt someone else, or itself? Sorry, still would rather hold if i can.

  • @exxcel19 sorry, i would rather put myself at risk than allow my horse to hurt by standers.

And OTTB's tend to be hot (not all, i have one thats super calm). My one gelding was fine at home, put him in a show ring though he and either stops and refuses to move, or goes and you cant stop him. Even with a lot of training, he still pulls random crap.

Do we know if this is hunter, or jumper? Perhaps she was aiming for the speed, or the horse was really hot that day.

  • Yer she does need to slow down but did you even no her?x

  • she needs to slow down

  • ok every one stop hating just because you know you cant ride as well or deal with a speady horse like her doesnt give you the right to be rude ya and sure she fell off big woop im sure you guys have all had a moment like this ok sure it wasnt a majour spook or bolt or buck or rear but who cares and to all the people that have ever made fun of a video like this get over your self

  • I didn't even notice that the horse was a OTTB before I read the description. She did very well!

  • Why do people feel the need to hump their horses at a canter? It looks soo stupid! LOL I love how the horse steps to one side and she goes flying, says a lot about her seat.

  • "oh ya let me just get my rope that i carry around on my saddle" just like every other normal rider....

  • Look at her heel the entire time. It is not down. I am not saying she is an awful rider but she definitely does not seem like she should be riding this horse at this level. She also bounces a lot on his back and does not have a balanced seat. A rider with a balanced seat would have been able to stay on.

  • Comment removed

  • She doesn't have a very good seat. The horse looked very nervous as well...

  • Go a little faster

  • i belive it is a crop not a whip

  • can I use this in a falls video? You'll get full credit and ill send the link!

  • She did VERY GOOD dont judge people at least she dosent hit her horse when she falls off like other stupid people

  • How rude to call someone a good or bad rider...have you rode her horse? do you even know the girl!!! Iv had OTTB and I think she did well! and probably could outride all the haters!

  • @Aislingxoxxox, Do we need to ride another's horse to tell if they are a good rider or not? If that were a requirement, it would sure make judging shows hard.

  • @Aislingxoxxox

You think she did good?! Did you not cringe when she hit :45's? Do you realize how dangerous that even was? I have seen a crap ton of OTTB's, I live in thoroughbred capital of the world, so we have plenty around here. I have yet to have seen one that after correct training does anything like this. If she were a smart rider, she would have pulled out and realized how absolutely dangerous this was. Horse could be great with some more training.

  • is it just me or does she ride like shes riding western

  • Dont call her a stupid girl, thats mean-.-

Maybe she was just nervous idk.But geez,i bet she really appreciates you putting this all over the internet.I know I would!

  • loud hands, she's not a good rider at all! i have no idea what yall are looking at, but this is not the right horse for her at all. and honestly...the horse didn't really do anything when she fell just maybe lost his feet for a moment...not a great rider...not a horrible rider either. and i do have to applaud her for not getting upset with him after the fall. that is better than what even the best riders do.

  • hm, looks like there's a lot of debate here. My opinion:

She seemed like she balanced with her hands, since her stirrups were a bit short. her horse was fast, and she was trying to rein him in and balance, and she wasn't doing it correctly. She focused on jumping instead of slowing him down, so he went WAY too fast. She appears to not have much experience on that particular horse.

But hey? Do I know her? Do YOU know her? I thought not. So lay off the poor girl, she'll learn from her mistakes!

  • @RideReadWrite And her heels were down!I totally I agree with the last part of your comment to!

  • why did u call her stupid. you dont know her

  • She's riding like the typical jumper. If that was a hunter class, then the way she was riding was completly unacceptable. But if she were riding a jumpers course, she was going the same speed other competitors would've gone. Her horse does need some more training but is no untrained. An untrained horse wouldn't (COULDN'T) jump that high, that easily. And how long a horse has been off the track means something. I got my 1st horse (6yo) fdirectly from a track and he acted like he was 26!!!

  • @UnlimitedConfusion

How in the world is that a typical jumper speed?! The correct speed is one that is fast but calm because it's important to keep those rails up. At this speed, correct distance goes out the window and so does safety. I've been to countless shows and can't remember one horse that has gone this speed, and by shows, I also mean world class shows like the Rolex and WEG.

  • slow down way to fast no wonder she fell off he stopped after going so fast so your going to end up on the ground but if she was going slower she would have not fallen off

  • omg u are so right she should not be on that horse. the horse is good but needs to be trained for showjumping by someone who nos wat there doing and she couldnt even get up at the end like come one poor horse i thought the horse was going to fall poor pet

  • @sarahluvsponysxx shes quite a good rider :L nd she looks like she knows what shes doing :L

  • i dont think shes a bad rider :/ if that horse is a hot race horse shes doing a reli good job holding him :L

  • @HorseluverXOX Yeah i agree

  • How is she stupid for falling off? Does that mean every person that falls off of a horse is stupid? Falling off is part of riding. Even the best riders lose their balance every once in a while. Not everyone is perfect, you know.

  • first of all, learn how to ride, second of all, sell that horse to someone who CAN ride, third of all, LEARN HOW TO RIDE.

  • @lovekisseslots you said the same point twice and that girl can ride ?

  • dude, thats really obnoxious..

  • I don't know how long the horse has been off the track, but she is pushing her horse for speed without actually being able to handle what she gets as a result. Shes keeping him on a tight rein, which may make half halts less effective if theres constant pressure on the horses mouth. I wish she had ridden her corners less tight, slowed down, and had more control, she gave her horse some short spots that defenitely affected him. and when she fell, it looked like she lost her balance beforehand.

  • She looks like a good rider she just didn't really have control. She should have given him a half hault or something.

  • Was she doing jumpers?

  • in show jumping when jumping you shoulsd have a rythmic bouncy canter not a healt for leather one!

  • @11and15productions Sometimes even with a fast horse you want to have a whip, mostly in case of refusal during a jumping course. But that one looks ineffective -- like she can't control when it hits the horse, which with an OTTB is very bad indeed. I didn't mean ghetto in a positive way, I'm afraid . . . hope I haven't offended.

  • @KittyALevin its okay, she shouldnt really have a racehorse to ride when the horse JUST came off the track

  • Dont ever hold onto your reins when you fall, theres a big chance of the horse trampling over you! Well done! :D

  • I disagree with you guys saying she is a good rider.

Just because she can fold over a jump and aim her horse at one, doesn't mean she is any good.

A good rider would know not to take a just of the track horse that wasn't ready, or, as far as I can tell from a video, extremely exposed to jumps, right into a show. it also seemed her method for deaking with a high held head was a martingale.

I would never have done this to my OTTB.

  • @adougherty0409 Well said and I agree completely. I was holding my breath watching her take him through those turns. No support at all through them. The twine was just ridiculous and I cannot believe that she even thought she needed it. I mean what did it do other than make him go faster (obviously not needed). And for all of the people saying she should have half halted, she was doing the opposite! she was pushing him forward! his speed wasn't an accident people!

  • @adougherty0409 Hey :) I agree... to an extent with you. It may be that she can ride other horses well and this one was a challenge for her. I know that from my experience with OTT and OT horses that they can be hard to handle because some have been mistreated... poor thing. But I agree she shouldn't have taken him to a show and certainly that horse doesn't need a crop. I like the way you think though :) Folding and aiming isn't important, it's easy, it's everything BEFORE/AFTER that's hard :)

  • @adougherty0409--Totally agree. Just because you can stay on your horse doesn't make you a good rider. If her seat had been good, the little stumble he did to avoid the cone that she pointed him at wouldn't have unseated her and caused her to fall bum over teakettle. What a sorry situation.

Is anyone shocked that the horse wouldn't let her remount?

  • @Baskovia so your telling me you've NEVER had a stupid fall? Comeon we all have. He doged it, and being that she was leaning since MOST hunter/jumpers lean the whole course, she lost her balance. It happens. We all have bad days. As for not remounting, it looks like she tries and decides to not. The horse was just going through a course, he was hot and wanted to keep moving. I've had silly horses who didnt want to stand for mounting. She looks like she didnt even really try to remount.

  • @PriestessSati, judging from your posted videos I'd say you aren't an authority on EQ and jumping. Being in half seat and "leaning" are not the same thing. I do agree that we all have "bad days", but if you think this fall was unavoidable you're as clueless as this rider is. Also, your = possessive, you're = you are. Proper English, please.

  • @Baskovia to me, she looks like she is just leaning. Hence why she is unbalanced. Judging from my videos? Really? For one, most of them are old, and two, its called goofing off?

Never said it was unavoidable for one, just said that since she was leaning she was already un-balanced so she fell. Simple as that.

lol really? This is over the internet, are you an english teacher? Does it really matter if i used the wrong "you're". Sounds like your looking for a fight :)

  • And where are your videos of you doing better than her? Don't criticize and be so judgemental unless you're perfect yourself.

  • For an ex-racehorse just starting at shows, that was pretty darn good. Ghetto whip, though.

  • @KittyALevin ummm a whip will just make him go MUCH faster so theres no point

  • @11and15productions Yes, and seeming he is off the track the whip will get him becoming like a race horse again!

  • i think the girl is doing great! considering i would never be brave enough to get on that horse and go that fast and jump. shes doing really good considering i am still on walk trot (and some times canter) level. and i have been riding for about 8 years

  • dude, this is mean! you dont call people stupid on youtube. what if she saw this! how do you think she would feel!

  • wow calling her "stupid" is a...little harsh don't you think? it happens to all riders, we all make mistake,s but we learn from them. Don't get all ignorant. You want us to call you stupid if you make an error? No, of course you don't. so can it!

  • Wow she was just pushing her horse a bit to much, so what? Are YOU a good rider? I don't think so. I think that you are just jealous on her :S

  • Comment removed

  • Not stupid - she was a little flat over the jumps and could have half-halted to bring the horse in a little slower but let's not call her stupid.

  • well she is telling the horse to do something than she pulls back then the horse becomes confused

  • Comment removed

  • SLOW DOWN!!!!! but good job just slow down a lot!

  • This girl is not stupid, and her experiance level is not *nessicarily* to low for this horse. This horse was rushing, unbalanced, and jumping flat, which is why he took down a rail at 0:32 . She should have tried a few half-halts, and worked at relaxing him a bit, but other than that, it is hard to stay if your horse swerves or slows down unexpectedly. There realy probably wasn`t that much that she could have done to prevent that, except slow things down and relax a little bit.

  • Nothing wrong here. Her horse was excited and the pace was very speedy, otherwise I think they did fine.

  • @ffaqueen08

The speed IS the problem. It's dangerous for both her and the horse.

  • i dont think shes a bad rider at all ... but she looked a little out of control and her horse sort seemed to have all the power. i think she should get control of her horse before she goes in the show ring. but shes not a bad rider

  • Dude! How is it your place to trash this girl? What if she came across this? Dp you think she would be happy? She is a darn good rider. I'm sure your're no champion instructor.

  • @mslinnyrose114

How do you consider her a darn good rider when she threw her safety and horse horses safety out the window?

  • just remember this slow and steady wins the race you have to go fast just pace yourself on your horses and that should be good but you are a pretty good rider.

  • For some odd reason, horses hate cones...hint hint...

  • I think her only real mistake was not looking where she was going and noticing the bright orange traffic cone that was in her way!

  • P.s off the tracks TBS do know how to jump as many of them have had experience steeplechasing. But we don't know the breeding etc, so lets just say the horse was going for a good time, and so was the rider, fed high sugar feed, and ready to win...

  • She doesn't look bad at all, that's what we would consider a 'jump off' speed to get a good time against your competitors the horse was backing off because his adrenaline is pumping he doesn't want to stand still because lets face it, if it wasn't he wouldn't be going over the jumps at such a speed, I thought her seat position and control was good. Most horses after a good gallop or speedy jumping course take a few minutes to settle.

  • she's didnt mean to fall off and her raiens are to tight...and the horse is very scared of her...lol:)

  • the horse is obvioulsy afraid of her. he kept backing away when she fell off

  • @grayponylove

That's not being scared. It's either because he doesn't understand or just can't stand still. However, considering the way they barreled around the arena, I'm going to say he is a bit to hyped up to stand still and doesn't understand, period.

  • @BLiSSFULxFiLLY he looked pretty scared to me
