Schultz would have gotten the gate were the game played today. Amazing that the linesman was saying "It's a long game" as if he was coaching Schultz to calm down so he wouldn't get tossed.
I hope Don Cherry sees this video. He's convinced that French-Canadian players are soft - if not chicken. Carol Vadnais doesn't seem to be intimidated by The Hammer - a guy who did strike terror in many hearts.
Look at these guys. Not one of them wearing a helmet. Who was the last N.H.Ler to play helmetless? I think it was Craig Mactavish.

Actually, the Bruins weren't intimidated by the Flyers in this game...5-1 Boston. That set up game 6 in Philly.

@Scoclamor The Big Bad Bruins didn't get intimidated easily by anyone. They were just as tough as the Broad Street Bullies were in the 1970's

I would love to find more audio clips of what the ref/linesmen are saying out there when they are breaking things up.

Great video. Especially show what a job the linesman did.

Schultz was one reason the NHL lost a major network contract. I love fighting but he was a goon
scosgt 2 years ago
@scosgt They probably the lost the contract because fighting and fightdancing were making the games way too long.

Schultz was held back by one of the greatest linesmen ever--John D'Amico--a pretty tough guy in his own right. RIP, John!

These guys were long retired in 1997. You need to re-check the date. Nice audio of the refs and players, though.
