its not called hot ice its called a supersaturated solution, you put a lot of sodium acetate, in water, heat it up slowly, cool it down slowly and there you go. my teacher showed us how to do this it looks awesome if you do it right

You can simple find sodium acetate buy going on ebay or on any other online shops for home expiriments. About 10$ for 1pound or your getting ripped off.

retard u can fucking make it by mixing vineger and baking soda......and then keep mixing it until no vineger nor baking soda is left only white crystals(not powder..crystals) then mix with wter and boil until u have only solid left this will be rough and hard so what u want to do is stick ina bag and crush it up. hope that will save people money!

No, it's not that much cheaper than buying 99% pure Sodium Acetate. The purity with vinegar and baking soda is VERY poor, barely pure enough for this experiment, due to the fact that vinegar is only 5% acetic acid. You can buy a pound of it for like 6 dollars. You dont even need that much to do this experiment, due to the fact that the remaining solid it re-usable.

@qbb01 iff you put your finger in it for too long your finger may get conaminated or get frosted bites becuse the sodium accitate is like 110 c or something and you can get burn
