There was no H/O or Hurst Olds in 1967. The 442 designation didn't even show up in the VIN until 1968. You owned a 67 442? Ive had 6 since working for Oldsmobile and ordering my 67 new in 1966. 442's don't say Cutlass on the exterior trim and if they do then it's wrong. Our family has been building 442's and Oldsmobile drag cars as long as Doc Watson and Joe Mondello. Maybe you should look at a few factory photo's and get back to me when you find the word Cutlass on a 442 .
@lenyo123 Wrong... 442 was an option package on F-85's and then Cutlass Supremes, and was only sold as a "model 442" from 68 to 71, at which point it was again an option package. I owned a 67 Hurst Olds 442, and it had Cutlass S interior details along with 442 markings, and the H/O 442 exterior marks and paint detailing. The 442 was basically the Cutlass with a 400 or 455 instead of 350, 4 speed trans and heavier rear end.
i got a 72 cutlass with a 442 hood on it and i'm wondering if i should make into a 442 clone but theres only one problem it has a different roof line, idk if they made any 442's without the fastback roof if anyone knows plz reply.
The '72 442 did not have a fastback roof line. This is a clone in the video. Also the rear bumper has cut-outs for the trumpet exhaust tips. The exhaust does not hang below the bumper.
@Thew4ythingsfade the 72 442 wasn't a car it was an option, as with ever year after. If you made it a 442 and used the parts for a 442 no one could tell. The years before 72 had their own vin
Now I'm not really that familiar with cutlass' but how fast on average do they go? From looking at it, I spot a nice engine but a heavy frame so what would that come down to.
its a muscle car. it might be heavy but these cars are scary fast. even if it doesnt have too high of a top speed its got plenty of torque. the kind of acceleration u might wana put on a diaper for.
Sweet car, I have one just like it, me and my dad just got done restoring it, we put a 403 small block oldsmobile engine in it. We gave it a new paint job and some fresh rubber. Good video, awesome car 2,000,000 stars / 5 stars
