  • you have no timing at all sorry

  • Love your drum stool! Excellent job.

  • nothing technical, at all. flipping sticks died with buddy rich. you better have complete 4 way coordination these days, or you're just another dude.

  • mmm que pena...

  • nononono, no señor, no arruine un tema tan lindo como este por favor....

if you want traslate do it, but i think you´ve understood the word NO.

you´re not bad, but you need to practice more, and play it in a real drum kit.

you chose a very dificult song to play, I cant play it, and I will never be able to do it

  • nice job! carter is very hard to get down sometimes

  • jajajaja esto es una broma??

    a joke??

    qué vergüenza... xD

  • u know what i just saw your vids..u do play with actual drums so these people are even dumber than i thought lol...u go nigga!!!!!!!!

  • Electronic kits tend to hide a lot of the mistakes a player makes. Its pretty easy to mess up on an electric kit and recover fairly quick. Do it on a real set, and its really noticeable.

Nice playing, but the attacks are pretty sloppy and not on time. Somethings are a bit overplayed and don't fit with the song. A drummer's job is to keep a beat, but being too over the top can get really distracting from the song. My only criticisms.

  • I really enjoyed this. Awesome stuff. Keep it up.

  • really good bud, but i think people rather see it or hear it on a real kit if you could the electronic drums kill the expressiveness, but despite that you are really good. and people that putting this down i would guess dont play drums

  • Hey there,

Excellent! The song is great and you are quite comfortable on the drums!

Don't listen to these JERKS who have nothing better to do thank F*** with a persons passion.

    Again Excellent!

  • Damn those are tight quarters.. Sell some of that shit and get a bigger room, and rhythm.

  • lol i didn't realize there's someone lying on the couch the whole time...

  • sad to say.. this is just an insult to carter. at least you're trying though. maybe some day.

  • ...an insult???? dude get over yourself...hes just expressing himself...so he can do whatever the fuck he wants...

  • expressing a fail version of carter's greatness.. but yeah he can do whatever he wants but when he posts garbage like this on youtube then its fair game.

  • it wasnt really that bad...it just sounded digital...which may gave it a weaker sound he also added his own things to it as well..also ...if u watch the the rest of his vids he aint bad at all....carters great, but stilll relaxs

  • its not bad. <3

  • Not bad, guy, dont listen to these faggots leaving stupid shit. Keep working.

  • Orrr you could just shuddap and don't waste space here with unfounded blabbering. Comment is fine, no need to get offensive.

  • you comment on every dave matthews video'

get a life dude, youre fucking sad!

  • The drummer drums like he's pooping.

  • ....and you have some spelling issues. So keep your dumbass comments to yourself unless you're telling this guy something about the good job he did on this song.

  • so we should lie to this guy? its people like you that enable people like this guy to become delusional. he sucks. i mean, this is not even close to being accurate. why shouldnt we tell him? you are the type that would stand by and let a friend embarass themself because you only want to tell them about good things

  • dude!!!! who the fuck are u!?!?!?! he aint that bad....ne made some mistakes here and there but all and all okay....get off your computer and go worry about something else

  • yeah well keep ridin this retard's dick all you want but i still cant keep from laughing my ass off when i watch this vid... im not worried.

  • i would nt say im riding more like saying its not THAT bad...and besides i can assure u if he had played that on an actual drum set you would thought it was okay...the vid its self is kind funny...and besides who said that he was trying to be like carter...he was just expressing himself in a song he liked...simple

  • wow you need to clean up your drumming sounds kinda sloppy if you do that you might not suck as bad oh and you have some timming isues

  • Love it!

  • Good job, man. I like how your roommate is just chilling reading oblivious to what's going on!

  • oh yeaa hah thats pretty funny.. good work bro

  • great job!

  • joaomad: this is the studio version on before these crowded streets. enjoy

well played mizterdo! all these people want to bash you but i would like to see them attempt to play carter note for note..good luck

  • eres ambizurdo

  • hey mizterdo, do you know where can i get this version, i love it! please reply. peace

  • It's the last song on DMB's Before These Crowded Streets CD.

  • is Morissette

  • The notion that the electronic drums are causing the lack of timing and feel is 100% pure crap. If anything the electronic drums are helping him by hiding the super sloppy stick control. This would be even more of a mess on a resonant acoustic kit.

  • I loved it dude. ... as far as you not giving the song "what it needs" ill take the Dave approach; you add/play what you feel is needed

  • sounds good to me...why people bash? prob dont have any musical talent themselves.

  • hey, go easy on the guy, the timing issues are because its an electronic drum set.

  • Your high hat work seems disorganized. I can't really feel anything time wise, and there is no flow. I know that Carter uses a lot of freedom with his timing, but he keeps it within the realm of taste. Your poetic license with time and feel is a bit to outside for this song.

  • Чудо-барабаны! Я себе такие на днях куплю!

  • cool!

  • sweet good taste.. what bout the blocks, carter's fav'

  • the blocks?

  • @mizterdo the tone block, are what he's referring to.

  • u look good on the drums but the kit makes this all sound terrible

  • It's a good job of playing the drums. This song requires more delicate drumming. The feel you give it is not what this song needs. If you were trying to play like Carter, then I'm afraid you didn't do so well. But, if you were having your own approach to it, then more power to you and congrats cause you did a good job then! I'm not trying to be a jerk, just saying.

  • i agree with jsltm888.

    it's alright...

but it's like off or something.

it just doesn't work for me.

    but you're very talented.

  • thats great man you play with as much emotion and as i do as i listen to this at work(the only file of the song i have at the office)

  • I would just recommend not throwing yourself at your fills so much. I think you rush your fills, which tends to rush your groove itself. There is something almost like a "fulcrum" in a tempo, you can either stay on top of it, or lean back into... Try just leaning back into the tempo and letting your groove flow.

    Cheers.

  • nice tip!

  • @mizterdo At times i noticed you were a bit behind and then rushed to get back. I'm not a drummer so it could be i just misheard the beat, and i dont really have advice for you to fix it.. sry..

Carter is in my opinion the best drummer out there, mainly cuz i love his intricate style. so props to you for doing a solid job

  • yo great job man, you've really got some talent. i was impressed

  • This is one of my favorite Dave Matthews songs. You did an honorable job, emulating the drum part well.

  • An amazing song, but weird choice to jam to with drums, especially a recorded version. Just a weird choice because of the other amazing dave songs that are available.

  • Great job bro. This is about as close as you can get to perfection. Keep it rolling. You do Carter proud.

  • not a great song to do on an electric kit considering how delicate the drums are in parts

  • exactly, but I was just practicing, this is just how it came.

  • could u do the beginning of "I Want to be Free" by the Ohio Players?

  • i'll have that in mind, I haven't heard that song, but I will be recording more frequently during summer, stay tuned.

  • what album is this on?

  • before the crowded streets

  • the previous answer was wrong. Before These Crowded Streets*

  • Good job for this song. I think it´s not easy to drum this song, so it´s a free jazz style....

  • Little rushed in parts is my only concern. Other than that your on the way to being great. Please keep posting!!

  • It was good, but I can still hear 2 sets of drums, it's not one. Also, I dislike eletric drums, a lot! They don't have that full sound, but over all, nicely done. Not bad...but it's hard to compare to Carter, just like I know I can't compeat with Victor Wooten!:)

  • amesome. that sounded great, and great recovery at the end.

  • you did really well on the ending.

  • Very good. Always enjoy seeing people play with DMB songs. Props.

  • Great job...no imperfections...perfect..no kididng.!!!

  • carter is wicked...stay at it you will get there...overall very good...shaky in a couple of places...but it was very good

  • Not bad! Carter is a tough act to follow. Make a vid to two step or pig.

  • thanks all!!

  • damnn...i wasnt expecting that lil drumkit to sound that good...thats kewl...dmb is the best ever

  • Nice nice... I'm crazy about the drums on tghat one too

  • You're really good! Great job! =)

  • clean your room

  • you're right, the thing is a couple of hours after I "clean" ia a mess all over again, there's no space for that here :( . What you see there is most of my room space and it's filled with instruments.

  • its not you but man those drums suck, I have them also, and they been sitting in a box cause they dont respond well i'm sure as u know

  • awesome job but you need to empty the trash, its a bit full

  • Mad about this song! U r very good. Thx.

  • open handed style really works on this one...you are really good. Me and my friends love to cover dmb stuff, old and new.

  • dmb = music

  • thanks for the first comment, and traditional is amazing by the way

  • Good Job! I thoroughly enjoyed the video, and the traditional grip.
