The most retarded ban on the planet. This is as bad as preventing Japan from exporting tuna because the fish suffocate when being caught and load onto a ship. Soon they will ban Caribou hunting because they are fluffy to. Everyone forgets the poverty of the Inuit community and other fishing(sealing) towns in Canada. Instead of worrying about hunting, why not worry about pollution and poverty. Those are things to protest. If you really want to help animals, help clean up the world.

Canada's answer this year is to disallow the use of the hakapik. (It's a lie, of course, and the thing will be used, make no mistake - however legislation will NOT allow observers on the ice). Do we CARE if they kill them with pillows? This cull simply must stop.

Hang in there, Gail. Progress is being made. The EU will soon ban all seal fur, which should help get the US to follow eventually.
