What i like about this video is you aren't trying to do the impossible, prove one gymnast is better than another. Really, the medals go to who is best on that one day. But can't we enjoy both of their gymnastics?

@IWillRunAlways Agreed. I remember the first time I saw each of them perform. I said, "Wow!" both times. For Nastia, it was because she had such a beautiful look. It reminded me a bit of watching the Soviet gymnasts as a child. And with Shawn, she was doing such hard, cool skills. And she had such great form while doing them. I couldn't believe what I was watching. Both are unbelievably talented in so many ways.

Nastia isn't 5'3.75....I've heard 5'3 (from the olympic website) but then I've also read 5'2 in most other competitions. I would go with 5'2 in comparison to the other gymnasts (who have a consistent height). Shawn was 90 as of August 2008 (BEFORE the olympics). She is probably around 100 now

Shawn has retired and Nastia just began training again after her many appearances after the Olympics, and her coach said she is quite out of shape. Bridget Sloan and Samantha Peszek are the only ones from the team still training and they are actually now training together in the same gym. My coach used to own a gym with Bridget Sloan's coach and they are very good friends. We saw him recently at a meet and he told us this.

Unless you have new information, I have never heard that Shawn has officially announced her retirement. While I doubt that she will go back to competitive gymnastics, she has said recently she plans to at least try to get back into gymnastics.

Shawn has not retired, just taking a break from gymnastics. She's taking a break to do DWTS. After that's finished, she plans to get back in the gym, train, and see if she still have a passion for it. So, she's currently in a wait and see mode.
