I'm also a fire explorer just in Ohio and I've watched almost all of your videos and they are pretty sweet. I really like the Helmet cam. teaches me a lot with out really having to be there. I wish we'd get some runs like you get. Thanks for sharing
@westplainsfd it's basically another name for a jr firefighter we get to train just like a firefighter does and we get all of our gear to take home it's a great program.looks like in the video the engineer is having trouble with the air horns I can hear him tapping the button please make as many of your videos as you can
@westplainsfd dude your vids are amazing I'm a fire explorer down in Florida and I like learning stuff from your videos make as many as you can thanks
@WestPlainsFD It is a program with the, fire dept. We also have one at our Dept.. It is basically Junior fire fighter.. Learning to be a firefighter, and things, here at our Dept, The explores are aloud to do anything a firefighter can do, Except Enter a "Un-safe" Enviment.. (Can not go INTO a house thats on fire.)
@WestPlainsFD I think kind of a like a junior firefighter that has alot to do brush firefighting if Im not mistaken. One of the guys at my FD used to be an explorer. i will ask him what it is next time I see him.
@WestPlainsFD Fire Explorers is a program for teens who have an intrest in the job. Its basically like being a junior firefighter like i am in my volly dept. explorers get to learn about the job, and could even do a little bit of physical work, and i think they are able to get into the junior fire academy programs
@WestPlainsFD I didn't see if he answered your question but explorers are normally the sons and daughters of the fire fighters that want to get into fire fighting but aren't old enough or haven't graduated high school. I was an explorer with the county for 6 years and I was the explorer chief for 2 of those. Its a great way to get real hands on training and they can take National Fire Academy classes. I had FF2 before I had a high school diploma. lol
@WhackerExposer The guy in the passenger seat is only a volunteer fireman and was at the station when the tones dropped apparantely, because our city only has one man on duty at each station. Therefore, ONLY the driver is allowed to operate the controls. It's his job. He has to do everything. That's how it works.
@sacfs He is a one man operation. The WPFD only has one man on shift. The passenger was just a volunteer and is not an officer. He isn't allowed to operate the controls. Only ride along.
Awesome horn what is it
