You used to be able to see it behind the woody wood pecker coaster in the park. Based on comments it sounds like its demolished. When they built citywalk, the hard rock cafe got a new building.

Found out yesterday at the newer one on city walk when I asked about it just sitting there, that it is being demolished to make way for the new transformers ride. What a shame, I did get to see a picture of the old guitar bar though.

yes this was the original orlando hard rock cafe,prefer it to the new one,used to have to either go past the psycho house to get to it,or you could park up round the back.

1) Nice to see that Universal is taking after Disney in just leaving stuff abandoned like that (believe it or I mean that as a good thing lol).

2) I had NO idea that this was no longer in use. I went to Universal back the year it opened (I'm usually only a Disney girl) and have tons of pictures both inside and out of this place. What happened for it to be shut down and left behind?

In two words poor management. Hard Rock has always had ties with Universal and Universal Studios has been sold over 7 times that I know of. All previous owners including the new one have no clue on how to run a park. They have gone from a behind the scenes how movies are made to competing with Disney with an all thrill ride park and then end up selling the DC comic rights to Disney. They should stick to showing how movies are made. The original idea. They are still struggling today.

Good thing you didn't go up the stairs ,I did get detained for trespassing, I just was trying get inside to see what damaged was done,..none...still had alarms on the place about Dec 2010, The fine cost me $150 for looking at good old memories, Glade you were able to shoot what you did,I guess we have really become a throwaway society, not us as individuals, Bad Business Management- Infrastructure-Government, Should be a law,you build it, use it,or the opportunity for others that will,..RZH

H.R. had an all around very poor business plan. Same thing as Planet Hollywood. Just poor planning, poor managment and shallow business plans that did not appeal to a large and diversified customer base. Once again, these are failed businesses that have little else to blame except themselves rather than the economy.

According to my sister, who was on the opening crew and heard this from Robert Earle, the restaurant and lounge part of the building was supposed to overlook the theme park, but there was a mix up and they thought they meant parking lot. The building was built backwards. The main entrance was off of a raised walkway that ran from the parking lot to the second floor, no one ever used those stairs, when it opened in 1990 it was the place in Orlando, it closed less than ten years later in 1998

Rip Ride Rock It Roller Coaster gives a great view of the old Hard Rock from the ride queue. There's an exit from Universal right behind the Old Hard Rock. It's not in the same place it used to be... it's in the middle of the sidewalk to the old Nick Studios (Now Blue Man Group)

yeah i knew you could see parts of the backside from inside the park but i didnt feel like paying to park or admission. A small part of me wanted to venture up those steps but didnt feel like getting a tresspassing warrant , ha . Im all about finding and filming old school stuff, check my other videos

Always wondered what was happening with it. I've always thought it would make a great recording studio. What better then to turn the old Hard Rock into a studio where bands can record their albums. Who wouldn't want to record in Orlando. You could easily put three to four separate studios in the building.
