I take it you live in a city where people don't farm for a living. Farmers hate foxes because they have a nasty habit of digging holes in their canals. Flooding can cause huge amounts of monetary damage depending on where and when it happens. I admit they are beautiful, but they often make it hard for a farmer to make a living. Everyone kills stuff. Try a .22 Hornet. Cheap ammo,no recoil, low report, and deadly on fox out to 200 yards. I've shot close to 130 fox with my old Hornet, ranging from 10 yards to 200, and have never sewn a pelt.
Let me tell you what happened. I ended up shooting this guy twice. The first time I shot he was standing facing me and I was shooting for his chest. I was off just a little and the bullet grazed the upper part of his front leg and then broke his back leg. He kind of started to try and run but it turned into more of a flop. My second shot was mostly to just finish it off, but because of the movement I couldn't choose where to shoot. He was dead before we walked up to him.

Foxes have been protecting our fields and food supply from rodents for thousands of years. An occasionally stolen chicken was really a small price to pay. That alone would be enough to explain why the fox has such a special place in practically every culture. I believe there is also a spiritual bond between us and foxes - is it more bizarre than Christian belief in talking snakes? I take it you live in a city where people don't farm for a living. Farmers hate foxes because they have a nasty habit of digging holes in their canals. Flooding can cause huge amounts of monetary damage depending on where and when it happens. I admit they are beautiful, but they often make it hard for a farmer to make a living. Everyone kills stuff. Try a .22 Hornet. Cheap ammo,no recoil, low report, and deadly on fox out to 200 yards. I've shot close to 130 fox with my old Hornet, ranging from 10 yards to 200, and have never sewn a pelt.

Let me tell you what happened. I ended up shooting this guy twice. The first time I shot he was standing facing me and I was shooting for his chest. I was off just a little and the bullet grazed the upper part of his front leg and then broke his back leg. He kind of started to try and run but it turned into more of a flop. My second shot was mostly to just finish it off, but because of the movement I couldn't choose where to shoot. He was dead before we walked up to him.
