  • bought a 2005 camry yesterday.. :D

  • now i see why my aunt dorothy bought one of these brand new in 2002 :)

  • More reasons to love my 2004 Camry XLE V6.

  • والله هاذي السياره القويه مشاء الله حتى الزجاج الامامي ما انكسر من قوه الصدمه الياباني اول مو الحين كل سيارتنا استرالي قراطيس

  • this is a good car..

  • This is a good car, but really it comes down to weight ratios.

  • @xXRoyaltyXx7 it 1 milliion time better than the american cars in early 2000s like the f150 is bigger and should be strnger but just folds

  • @solarlightning Is that why my aunts 2001 f150 got into 3 wrecks but still hasn't required anything but regular maintanance?

  • @stevenmorookian16 wtf dude are a fucken idiot watch the crash test of an f150 i never said their unreliable ford are really reliable

  • @solarlightning they are supposed to crumple dumbass. How else is the impact going to get absorbed. Wow you are ignorant as fuck son. Learn physics then try again.

  • @stevenmorookian16 wtf have you seen a crash test i never new the floor of the truck falling off was a crumple zone...i never new that the cabon was also a crumple zone just check the vid out man fuck

  • I do hope yall know that the reason people are hurt in crashes is because of the massive deceleration, which means that if I hit a little camry with a large pickup head on (both going 50) whats going to happen is that poor bastard in the camry is not only going to instantly slow to 0mph but will go about 20mph backwards. this will most likely kill that person in the camry. as for the guy in the truck he will decelerate mush slow and it will take him about 3 secs to stop camry is a truck cusion

  • btw i own a camry lol, i miss my f150

  • @CrazyCajunCoonAss Guy in the truck dies too, flipping end over end after it rides the camery like a half pipe.

  • @CrazyCajunCoonAss I saw pictures of an accident a head on collision between a hummer and a camry

the one in the camry survived, the hummer flipped several times over the cabin of the hummer was crushed as well as the front of it. the sedan killed the brutal

  • Ask the SAudis about it

  • whos the idiot talking about his groceries?

  • the crumple zones on this car really are outstanding. I was rearended by a kid on his cellphone fairly hard, it crumpled and absorbed impact in the all the right areas leaving me and my passenger mostly unharmed.

  • wat a piece of junk -_-

  • Wow, the windscreen remained intact, there was no cabin intrusion, this is the sort of car i would trust my life in

  • @ytpguy111 They get very boring after a while and not built all that well. Side impact is not so good.

  • where the hell is the side impact?

  • OMG 40mp/h on a wall and the windshield doesn't even show a crack! safe passenger cage

long crumble zone, nice when i will live in the USA that car is the one I drive with my family in it :)

Europe doens't sells it:( stupid european protectionism

  • @215alessio Side impact is not so good. They are reliable cars but get very redundant after time.

  • @GmTruckCarLove side impact not so good??? If you look at the crash test of a side impact of the camry (video on youtube) than you will see that the side impact IS good.

  • @stevenmorookian16 I will send you a link over PM of what IIHS says about that. htt p://ww w.iihs. or g/ratings/rating .a spx?id=287

  • Wow no cabin intrusion, thats a good design with a good crumple zone. This is what you want to see in a safe car.

  • The steering wheel airbag is over-aggressive, though. It needs to deploy earlier or be smaller.

  • Wow.... That done really well!!!

  • If the trunk opens all of my groceries are going to be flying all over the highway. If I am in a car accident, I don't want my groceries to be exposed to the public. Whos going to pick them up for me?

  • @eau9999 Are you serious? You're going to worry about your groceries out on the highway after you were an a car accident in which your car got totaled? I would be glad if I were alive! That was only at 40 mph. In California, the rural freeway speed limit is 70 mph. That's nearly twice that car was going and it looks like that. Now tell me, would you be worrying about your groceries if your car was nearly twice as bad as that?

  • @weinerschnitzelboy my friend ,all crash tests are done close to that speed! Mercedes Benz,Toyotas and BMW's ! and the most important thing is the passenger area ! as long as its safe its OK for a CHEAP car !

  • The trunk opens because incase after the crash sometimes you cant open the doors the only way out is the back :)

  • Crashed into one of these the other with my expedition, the camry got totalled.

  • Even the front end had fairly minor crumbling. You don't quite see parts flying off into the air, or the hood getting raised.

  • Well, there goes my crap in the trunk.

  • i feel safer driving mine already :)

  • Toyota is the Best auto make, ever!

  • @Motorfordtoyota i agree with you

  • but a toyota crash us wen we were park that shit got all fucked up look worst than that.

  • all of you are dumb ims orry to be so blunt but most of the car accidents that happen in toyota cars are over 50 miles an housr and most of the time the cab of the car is totaled

  • Wow that's a very strong car - the roof barely registers the crash forces.

  • @JSoto96 how would it get messed up? it's far from the impact.

  • @whattheheck1000 the inertia of the trunk when the car hits somehting solid that why dummies hit the seatbelt you try hanging on to a car when it goes 40- 0 mph in half a second.

  • @Jsoto1115 yeah food and stuff would be destroyed, a laptop might survive

  • @whattheheck1000 i highly doubt it. unless its concealed in bubblewrap and inside a safe. if its lying on your back seat and it hits a hard plastic surface it will break.

  • @Jsoto1115 Well the crash is over in a half second, depends on if your laptop's strong...

  • It kinda looks like a pruis after its been smashed XD

  • this is what you should do WHEN THE BOOT DOESNT WANNA OPEN))))

  • crashed a 2001 camry into a stone wall last night, not hurt at all. the car's totaled but toyota, you saved my life! :)

  • airbag hits driver...

  • Lols, the boot is like a thin foil

  • Отлично!!!

  • Are you stupid? No shit it's totaled, try driving your car into a wall doing 40mph and see how it looks. It was DESIGNED to crumple like that to absorb the impact of a crash, and if you didn't notice, the cabin remained completely in tact. The camry is a solidly built car.

  • Agreed. A car's front bumper is DESIGNED to crumble into pieces WITHOUT affecting the cabin - otherwise, all the energy of the crash would transfer to the driver, making HIM absorb the damage and not the car.

  • And that, my friends, is why Camry is a great choice for families.

  • @92ASC everycar look slike that after a car crash that car was not made to crumple if it was it wouldnt have flown back like it did look at the genesis coupe that car was made to crumple as it showes in the video

  • @92ASC Ya I know, and the windshield barely even got damaged.

  • @92ASC I GOT IN A HGE ACCIDENT LAST YEAR A TRUCK WENT BY AND HIT ME HIT ME INTO A WALL AT 50MPH I CAME OUT NO PROBLEM ANYONE WHO WANTS PROOF ILL SEND YOU PICK

  • @solarlightning haha I believe you man, I've been through 2 accidents with my '02 camry(I got t-boned at about 35mph and I rear ended someone doing about 25mph) and it still runs like a champ.

  • @92ASC thts good its alright thy paid me 12000 for it last year, it was a v6 with jbl and alloys... thts it... if i had sold it i wouldve go 10g for it... but later i got a 2010 se v6 fully load... 0-60 5.8 couldnt be happier wwith it... exept the interior has quality issues in the partswhere people dont really see but only 2 places so its fine

  • @solarlightning Yea those newer 3.5L V6's are beast. The new camrys really are perfect sleeper cars. Not that many "family" midsize sedans can hit 60 in under 6 seconds.

  • the only things that stood out was the wave of glass coming from the headlights and the rear trunk opening adn closing

  • my car

  • sux2bu

  • Well, there you have it. The Toyota Camry has been the best selling sedan in the US for the past 15+ plus years for a reason (besides reliability).

  • But the Ford Taurus was for a decade or so before that, so how do you explain that? Taurus probably would have continued being #1 seller if they hadn't redesigned it as that weird bubble shape in '96.

  • Well, back in the 80's Camrys (and even the Accords) weren't competitive to the Taurus because they were smaller and underpowered back then. Around 92-93 is when the Camrys became bigger and more powerful, more competitive, and that's when they started outselling the Taurus. Don't worry, Ford's F150 has been the best selling pickup in the US for the past 30 or so years, so at least Ford's doing something right.

  • The Camry did get larger (midsize) and offered an optional V6 starting in '92. However, the Taurus was still the #1 seller into '95. Ford redesigned the Taurus for '96 with that very futuristic bubble shape and it turned a lot of people off. That's why it dropped in sales and was no longer #1 seller. So Camry became a better seller by default. It was only updated very slightly, not totally redone until '97. And notice the redesign was very conservative. They didn't want to make Ford's mistake.

  • @palebeachbum V6 camry's were optional in the second gen, 87-91 body.

92-96 was a total redo for the american market to compete with the taurus. the japanese version was diff, then a moderate redo for 97-01 gen. i have a 96 5 spd camry 4 cyl. honda got competitive w/ the 94 redesign and again with the better 98-02 gen cars. ford shoulda used the SHO engine on all 92-95 and really wow the public. then make a less dramatic 96-04 car with the SHO engine to stay on top... what if?

  • Haha, well in theory, it sounds like a great idea if Ford used the Yamaha motor in all Taurus'. Problem is, it was too expensive of a motor and would have significantly raised the GL and LX price, making it no longer a lower prices sedan than Accord and Camry. Also, the Yamaha motor was thirstier than the 3.0L V6 that came in most Taurus', so i would have probably been the most gas guzzling midsize family sedan on the market at the time, turning off most mainstream buyers.

  • @palebeachbum oh but the fun one would have in the SHO/5 speed if it were a reality, imagine teasing performance oriented germans or muscle cars in a sleeper ford... love that SHO. still, ford's best kept secret

  • I test drove a '95 SHO many years ago. It was very fast. But it's problem, along with every Taurus in general, was the reliability was a nightmare. The one I test drove had 70k miles on it and already the catalytic converter was bad an the transmission was messing up, not to mention some other problems. Terrible cars they were.

  • @palebeachbum With a Taurus is you either get one that last up to 500,000 w/out problems or you get one that falls apart after you drive it off the lot. lol

  • yay my grandma has this car were safe

  • haha lmao i have one it is a relly nice car but i see what u mean

  • japan rules...

  • why the hell are people commenting so badly on the toyota 2002 - 2006 camry so much? i mean there is a new camry. this video is old too. why critisize now?

  • @LiLTBoyy115 I owned a 2002 Camry SE V6 it was one of the best cars I've ever owned. I had the optional-at the time- side curtain airbags and was T boned by a 2006 Grand Cherokee going 50mph on wet pavement and yes the other driver was at fault. I was hit on the passenger side where my friend was sitting this Side airbag saved my friends life, said the state trooper, my friend only suffered a red spot on his cheek. He passed away Xmas 09 of a heart attack so please no rude comments.

  • @will000089 see a side curtain saved ur friends life not the car itself if the side curtain wasnt there ur basically sayin ur friend would have died. sorry to hear about your friend. but now if you get a toyota you have to worry about the car killing you not another car slamming into. i feel that if you like safety check out a hyundai they are very safe and reliable from how they used to be. safe cars dont lose control or break down cause it stalls for no reason or becaue the breaks dont work.

  • crash test a jap zero too?

  • Stereotypes...

  • dont hate on the japan car because you know they are built better and retain their value.....thats it your chevy can still run

  • All I can say to all (the people's) comments is that it's PROVEN that a Japanese Car WILL OUTLAST any American car.

  • I'd like to hit this Camry head-on with my Tahoe...

  • Your Tahoe would lose

  • @toyotas2006 No it would not. Sorry but mass would throw the Camry around and the Tahoe would just look like a fender bender. Same with Sequoia and so on. Mass wins in crashes.

  • @toyotas2006 Weight would win a head on crash; thus the Tahoe would win.

  • The modern japanese cars are actually value for money. Much better than its older models which are shitty

  • So I'm safe???

  • my g/f hit a cop in the rear at 25 mph and it didnt even mess up the bumper cover

  • wow that held up greatly...look at the door and roof line thats what you got to look for

  • why does the trunk open when it crashes?

  • reaction

  • Energy dispersement AROUND the passenger compartment.

Toyota wants every part of the car to absorb the impact BEFORE the passenger cell does.

    Even the trunk

Even the spare tire under the rear!

  • True that i had a accidednt in a 99 toyota and i was going 65 nailed a 03 camry on the front hood after the old bastard pulled out infornt of me and the damage was mindblowingly low.

  • well what if your crap is in the trunk?

  • @whattheheck1000 Who gives a dam whats in your trunk. As long as you survive the crash.

  • the latch either just sucks or the motion triggered the trunk release.

  • ugly? Other than the current camry(07-present) I think it's the best looking. The 02-06 was one of the first Toyotas that resembled Lexus.

  • Sorry

    The 97-01 was much uglier

Part it next to a 07 Camry SE, you wouldn't believe they could BOTH be called Toyotas

  • You are confusing boring with ugly. The 97-01 was boring but inoffensive. The 01-07 is a disportionately styled piece of junk. From the b pillar back it has huge backside and overly wide trunk and terribly shaped c pillars. In addition the dash board looked like it came out of a truck, no flow down to the centre console at all.

  • very good

  • thats wat i like to see

no chance of the car crumbling up to the driver long hood equals absobtion

    very safe

  • that the car i have

  • Sorry, some dummy must have stole it and wreck it. He he he

  • like everybody else on the planet

  • lmao. so true

  • Stupid Dummies!

  • That long hood absorbs energy so efficently.
