Chemistry helps explain the fundamental connections and interactions between EVERYTHING -- studying chemistry is like studying the very nature of the universe itself. Which is all fine and innocent (like having a ginger play copper or something like that), but it reminds some people of some very bad things. All I'm saying is that it's best to avoid such situations, not that some is deliberately trying to be racist.
