How sad that Merc. didn't use the new 204 Chassis to make this car & just facelifted the old 203 chassis. You can see this in the interior, it didn't change much. You would be better off buying an older C-class & updating it's looks. It would probably be a lot cheaper too. The 203 chassis had a lot of problems when it first came out but Merc has ironed out most of the problems since then.

I was informed by a friend. Don't take your car back to the mercedes dealership unless you want it returned back to you with older seats. It is a well know fact,that after you purchase a car, and take it back for maintance rest asure something looks different, you can't place your finger on it at first, but then you realize that's not your car seat or radio, or grill or head lights, etc.

The car is basically a revised o5'. Same platform. I own an 04 and they are fun as hell!! Great mileage and yes it is a hatch...how else could I fold the seats down and get my Surfboards in!! Broken in o-60 mph 6.8 sec.

it has been out in greece 2 days ago it cost clc-180(146hp) from 31.700 euros i was today on the mercedes place and talking with a guy. Nice car but the extras are bit expensive. i want to put SunTopWindow u know?(2.038euros) sport package with direct steering(bi-xenon)(2.611eurors­) confort package(mirrors anti lighting,auto water brushes etc)(700euros)

grayson, they're catering toward whoever will pay them money for cars. that's how corporations work. i love the company and all but let's face it, car sales are off, especially luxury cars, but they know if they make a budget brand they'll enough people willing to lay down the cash to have the star on the hood.  i own an E320 from 2002, and two relatives each own the new W211 chassis of that car (one is a 2003, one a 2004)...i like my W210 better!

i really don't like how people judge by visual appearance. Either that or they talk like they're either too rich for a Mercedes or Mercedes are too expensive and overrated. I've also heard from higher-end S-class owners that the service quality has diminished since MB has started trying to make more affordable cars (C-class). I'd rather drive an 08 Accord Coupe any day.

I read that the quality issues were because they switched to different suppliers for their electrical components before checking them out closer. I heard of an S class owner driving his ride down the highway at night, and suddenly the instrument cluster lighting shut off. Also heard other stories about faulty electrical gadgets.
