She did have Three Children, and I know there names, 1. Justus 2.Simon 3.John, they dont list the females, but the two are "Julia and Arria Pheobe", all together 3 Sons and 2 Daughters.
I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS STORY, BUT MARY MAGDALEN MUST HAVE PLAYED A PIVOTAL ROLE IN JESUS CHRIST'S LIFE . IT NO DOUBT IS PLAYED DOWN BY THE POSITION WOMAN HAVE TAKEN FOR MILLENNIA . YET I'M SURE THAT COMING FROM THE TALE END OF THAT ERA, WOMEN WERE MOVERS AND SHAKERS IN THE BACKGROUND , THAT'S WHAT I SAW, HIDDEN POWER , NOT DEMANDING , MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE .
Also I would like to say how the character of Mary Magdalene, along with the Holy Mother Mary, is a role model all women of all ages should adopt in these times. With the current society telling women how they should be and feeding them lies about how they should be acceptable, more women should consult the Word and follow Christ, and emulate women of the Bible who followed Him. God bless all, amen
Even if this story is legend, it most certainly relates a profound truth. I wish that instead of the Easter bunny, that children could regularly be taught this and have red eggs on Easter morning. I have come to the realization that you cannot combine pagan rites with Christian teaching, it distracts from the truth and what children need to be brought up in the way they should go. Mine are older now and don't buy the nonsense anymore, but I wish I could turn back time. Amen
@marihilt LOL so I'm guessing you don't know that the 'easter bunny' is actually a hare and that the hare was 'laying' red eggs long before anyone dreamt up this cover-up story ?

It's not clear exactly where this legend originated. The best answer is that it's "traditional".
For more info on the origins of the Red Egg legend, a good place to start is at RosettagramsDOTcom (just "Google" rosettagrams) for a link. On the Rosettagrams home page, click the "Mary Magdalene" link on the left side. There is a lot of MM "lore" info there, including the Red Egg story.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
I go to an Orthodox Church and learnt that the red eggs are symbollic in following way. The red is the blood of Christ. The egg is like the tomb, death, but within, is life. The breaking of the shell is symbollic of the breaking of death, of the tomb.
