a TM GBB pistol is the best choice hands down. Use 0.30g pellets. The rest are too encumbering. Shotguns are a waste of time imo. TM NBB MK23 is also great but harder to carry around.
They are often encumbering/heavy and hot. they are no good if it rains as they soak up water. I really suggest you get a webtex concealment vest and add garnish yourself.... its lighter and more mobile, yet not like a sponge. It has scores of foliage loops too. I think it is easier to use your pockets/holster than a bushrag too. If you have to get a bushrag, just use the jacket, gun wrap and hat. I also recommend the LLCS suits, but they are not cheap. Best is LLCS with webtex CV.
I like both rifles. However, the G-SPEC suits someone who uses lower powers imo, due to its shorter inner barrel and more effective silencing at those powers. The regular VSR10 is a great rifle and the 430m barrel gives great results at higher power. If you intend to run 500-550fps; I would get the regular VSR10.
This video helped me upstate in airsoft. I dont like crouching near trees but in a bad situation, in my ghillie suit its better to be in front of a tree when they are behind you. I prefer in the tree's because in full bloom, it is almost impossable to be seen but i have a great line of sight. Thanks for the video!
There are 3 ghillie suits, in this video.... one is homemade. One is an Advantage suit with mod's to add foliage to. My own is a factory standard WEBTEX concealment vest. Just expect to spend 30 minutes caming it up in the morning and 10 mins at lunch.

People like to talk trash of videos instead of helping improve them. I'm not a sniper nor in real life nor in airsoft, i'm a M60 guy myself. LoL!
One question about HUNTEERING, does the victim dies on first hit, or can the victim run like help when it happens? At least 3hits got the guy, if the guy duck and cover, the sniper would have lost line of sight.
1 hit and you are out. Then you can move at any pace you like to any boundary and radio that you are rejoining the game. Please check out our website (the link is on our channel).
as a sniper, the stupidest thing you can do (shown on this video)
is to sit right beside a tree with the natural camo towards the tree, as a
experienced sniper, i don't think you should follow this, and hopefully this will answer some comments on this comment: Yes i am a experienced sniper, and the reason i check out these videos is because i want to help people by saying what to do and what not to do.
I understand why people would say such things, but each encounter is different. This video does not show how limited the fields of vision were in this encounter. Due to the fact the ferns are very tall and the curviture of the hill, you could hardly see down to the location we had moved from seconds before. I think that is why MANTIS chose to sit there... he could hardly be seen from any angle and only partially, from the front. Hopefully, this will explain.
This game type isn't normal Airsoft either... its called "Hunteering" please check out some of our other videos. I would also point out that it was Mantis's first ever game with a G-SPEC and all the guns involved were only 300fps. In many situations, sitting in front of a tree would be stupid, but if you are in a dense fern bed that is identical to your local camo and your base camo is realtree (a bark camo) then it is not that stupid. Hence why he was not seen.
Very first thing I would upgrade is simply the hop rubber (get a nineball or firefly hard).
I would upgrade the sears, piston and spring guide and stopper... or just buy an after market trigger mech. This will make the rifle durable and easier to cock. Get a decent 430mm aftermarket barrel of your choice. I use the 6.03mm laylax in mine.
Yeah but we never got seen once in this entire encounter... so isn't that the point ? to get a result?... if you stick to the "rule" to never go next to a tree, in a forest... you cut down the amount of viable positions by at least half. Rules are there to be broken... its just knowing when to do that and get a result. Too many people read field manuals and don't talk from experience IMO.
Depends on the situation and game. If they are alone, you may wait for them to move off a couple of meters before shooting them with your pistol. If you want to get behind their team or if they are a group, you would simply stay still.
Im just getting into airsoft....and i herd that an AEG would be best for beginners...i want to get an m4(echo 1 full metal) but i want to get a sniper(possiable jg bar 10).....i all ready plan on making a ghillie suit (for bow hunting, and for airsoft) but can i have a suggestion please thanks!!
Much depends on the site you intend to go and play at as a regular. If the site is open, then a BAR10 would be more viable, however if it is a dense site for cover, the M4 is probably a better bet in a ll honesty. Playing with a bolt action means you need to stay unseen to have a chance vs AEG's. It's simply easier to play if you use an AEG, due to walking your pellets onto target even if you are moving. If spotted you can put down full auto while you withdraw, etc. Use a ghillie.
Also the length of the games they play there is key to deciding which option. If the games are shorter speedball/firefight based, then the M4 is the only option imo. Bolt action need the element of suprise to be most effective. That suprise is far easier to get in a long game, when people switch off. In short using a bolt action to maximum effect, requires you become a master of not being detected, while still moving to the right place at the right time. Then still having to make the shot.
Hey Phantom, how big are the differences between 6.01 and 6.05 barrels? (Mainly PDI) I have a PDI 6.01 and I have heard 6.05's are more accurate. Is this true?
Major debate on which barrel is better than any others. However PDI's website did say that 6.01mm is for velocity and 6.08mm is for accuracy. Interesting how TM and CA both fit widebores as standard. I talked to someone who had a PDI 6.01mm and a PDI 6.05mm. he said the 6.05 was more accurate. I use a 6.03mm and wider. I rate the PDI 6.05mm
It's more about a barrels tolerence than exact bore imo. PDI have high tolerences (+/- 0.004mm) on the .05
Very good looking! I like it all except one thing, you fired 3 shots in one position. Im not a sniper but isn't that the number one rule at sniper school?
Yes and now. This is an Airsoft sniper school, not a real one. The activities are very very different. Just imagine real snipers fire from 400m+ and have very very loud rifles with muzzle flash. I was using a factory standard TM G-SPEC (its super silent). Neither me or my partner were spotted by either of our opponents at anytime in this film. There are some guidelines, but they are not hard rules... rules are there to be broken. its just knowing when. Shoot quick, run quicker.
Sorry but i'm an Airsoft sniper, and if you want results you have to be agressive. I use a v.light weight guillie, alot of fast crawling, never overestimate peoples vision, some ppl are blind!
No offence, but tactics and approach, very much depends on what game type/length you play, on what terrain, and against what level of opponent. If you play speedball vs typical newb AEG players, then yes, your approach is fine.
Get a BAR10 or VSR 10, then if you have enough money, fit a zero trigger (or M-trigger), 170 or 150 spring, spring guide. If you have enough extra cash, fit a teflon cylinder, new cylinder head, firefly or 9ball hop rubber and new tightbore barrel.
@AjfromDamons I know that feeling, just ordered a PDI 6.01 tightbore and PDI hop-up for my UTG L96, going to pretty much double my range and accuracy.
I don't know a whole lot about Airsoft sniping, I know some and I have a pretty good sniper and I was just wondering, will I learn everything I need to know by just playing and learning from experience?
@bmx65 YES. However, it wll take you longer to learn than people who research it. Problem is that many people think they can apply most real sniping techniques to this sport. It is it's own activity with many differences. Look up the STEALTH series on my channel for information. I learnt by playing and playing and playing.... now after 20 years... I know most things, but can still learn.
i dont know what i should get ghillie suit, or a camuflage suit thing where i use elastic bands and stuff to stuff it with vegetation. What do you recommend getting? im a beginner too?
If possible, get an LLCS Jack Pyke suit. Its either green or brown, so won't do all year round no doubt.
Concealment vest are great but take 30 minutes to cam up. Traditional ghillies are very encumbering and hot. They are bad when they get wet too. Get a camelback and cam that up with elastic bands.
That's why sometimes it really helps to carry little and move fast. Running and dodging is part of evasion at times and can yield great results. Opponents can get strung out trying to chase you.... or lose you and then you can either set another ambush ot flank them. Trying to pick them off one at a time. You can soon tie up 10 men, if the site is big enough and you are wiley.
You are kind of right. However, we both moved off sharpish, as we deduced, that we needed to reposition, before the opponents (we had heard) arrived. In this film, neither of us were spotted at any time (not even the end).
nice vid.... if anyone who knows how to make a good ghillie suit i would really appreciate some good tips on breaks my outline....if you can.. thank you very much
This reminds me of when me and my friends play we don't have that many people so its just 3 vs 3 but one of our games lasted an hour and thirty minuets. ps great work guys!
@ExoticSickScoper It depends on if you want to move whit all the other players or go a bit to the side and pick people off that way. BTW i play as a sniper and its fun as hell.
STOP THE ANTI AIRSOFT BILL THEY ARE STARTING!!! IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT GOOGLE SENATE BILL 798. IT WILL MAKE ALL THE GUNS IN AMERICA HALF TO BE ORANGE OR BRIGHT GREEN!! STOP THIS BEFORE IT GETS MAINSTREAM!! DEFEND OUR SPORT!
Would you recommend the WELL l96 or the TSD L96? or are they simple the same gun? Could someone also explain why there are many l96's. like do many companies make their own versions of the l96?
Nice work. Yes, too many people think you need to imitate a military sniper and his ghillie..... think differently to be the best IMO. Good Hunting ;)
@MrAirsoftcrazy123 la ghillie fonctionne ausii avec la vegetation naturel mon cher c boucoup mieu que de passer 1h a se maitre des truc dherbe sur nou quan ont peu le faire an 5 min avec la ghillie
@MrAirsoftcrazy123 its tpyical to start with the ghille, and then add vegetation to it from the area you are operating in. maybe that will help you stay concealed better.
For those interested in ghillie suits. Don't buy them, make them. That brings up a much better, if not cheaper, product. WebTex vest's work, but not as good as a ghillie suit, as long as you stay in the shade, the WebTex should work fine.
But if you're moving in somewhat more open terrain, a home-made ghillie is recommended.
I think the webtex is actually better; as if you cover it in natural foliage, it is better than trying to simulate such foliage. Nothing is more realistic than foliage, than actual foliage itself. Simply add your garnish to the webtex concealment vest and you have a great ghillie with so many elastic loops its stupid.
@phantomTMA Well that is true, but the real ghillie suits, like the military versions, use netting which has Jute twines and burlap attached. Of course the Jute and Burlap is in natural colours, but with the netting, you can attach Naturals to your suit. Nice job anyways.
You will find the typical military suit that uses netting means that the suit takes far longer to veg up and even then the foliage will fall out quicker. Such suits are pretty obsolete now imo.
Im a retired marine scout sniper and saw this video looking up sniper kills to remember my golden days. Not sure what airsoft is but just a hint if you want to be real snipers. Real snipers stay below the vegetation, away from the base of trees, you young men move to much, and also sometimes your camoflauge didnt match the surrounding vegetation fir example the surroundings were green at some parts and you would see a silloute of a darker/dead green.
No offence, but the amount of "retired snipers" on here is hilarious. Looking at your profile, I somewhat doubt what you say. That is irrelevant anyway, as I don't want to be a real sniper. This is not real sniping as we shoot from close up and have to break the rules otherwise, we would not be able to move in the forest for fear of moving near a tree or somewhere that is a different colour background. No matter what you say, in this encounter, the other team did not see us once.
Just a hint. Stay away from the base of trees. It's incredibly easy to spot especially when at a vantage point. They are referred to as "Tree Cancers." Also I noticed a few times you where shooting with the Sun in front of you. Try to stalk in a direction that puts the sun at your back or at least not so much of your front. Scope Glint is a dead give away. All around pretty decent for no training.
i play both paintball and airsoft, but a 300fps paintball gernerally will pack a bit more of a punch then a bb bc going to 600fps and the bb has a very little mass, and the paintball is much heavier than a bb, so do the math and u will figure out that a paintball actaully flies at a harder pace than a bb, but i love both sports so idc
im sorta new to airsoft, and i was wondering if i should be a rifleman style of player with an aeg assault rifle, or if i should spend my time learning and mastering the skill of sniping?
sitting right at the bottom of a tree is the worst thing a sniper could do. it gives the opposition a perfect line to sight straight down to the sniper. ALWAYS STAY DOWN AND IN THE OPEN!!!!!
i just came from visiting your site sand i gotta tell you i love your site i like art work and most all the games you created and play i like the field hunteering the most. i cant get enough of the sniper vs sniper concept good job on the site and your vids
I agree, at least on paper, but sometimes you DO have to move fast. Indeed, our shooting could have been better, but what you need to remember is that the rifles in this fil are sub 300fps (very low powered) factory standard VSR10; that makes it somewhat harder to get the pellet on target at range/against a moving target and get it registered when someone is wearing a ghillie. Since then we have moved on... check our later films.
I have not seen that gun. It will be able to do that, but not very often at all. Consistancy is what makes a good bolty and I doubt a cheap Chinese gun is somehow better than the expensive Japanese models.
@stealthyairsoft996 get the new echo 1 m28 im aboutto buy one the are probably the best out of the box sniper rifles on the airsoft market they are better than my utg l96
Do you think an A&Kdragunov with an m150 would last me in an airsoft war because I will stick my AK on my back and the dragunov has 500 fps.I used to have a well l96 and didnt have any luck with that so if you could sugest any hard hitting accurate snipers you should.
I would not carry 2 large rifles. Powerful and accurate out of the box, doesn't really exist in Airsoft. Best bolt action rifles are VSR/BAR types but you have to upgrade them and even then you have to play to their strengths. The well l96 sums it up and you don't want to waste money/time again, do you.
Try to buy something 100% compatible with the VSR10. That way, it is not a starter rifle that you have to replace later on. Try to get a BAR10 if you want a cheap version.
Many people have problems with the mp001. The fact it takes vsr10 parts is good, but, the original parts are poor quality. You will probably have to fit new sears.
@HollowFMJ i know what you mean but where i live its hard for them to bring in airsoft the customs right now are picky about what comes in and goes out but hey thats how its supposed to be right the retailer here is even having trouble bringing in upgrades.

Phantom what do you think of the concepts of a traditional Ghillie Suit or more specifically, a Bushrag suit with added foliage?
bmx65 3 weeks ago
They are often encumbering/heavy and hot. they are no good if it rains as they soak up water. I really suggest you get a webtex concealment vest and add garnish yourself.... its lighter and more mobile, yet not like a sponge. It has scores of foliage loops too. I think it is easier to use your pockets/holster than a bushrag too. If you have to get a bushrag, just use the jacket, gun wrap and hat. I also recommend the LLCS suits, but they are not cheap. Best is LLCS with webtex CV.

I ordered a utg spring l96. what would be a good airsoft bb type?
azzkicker7283 7 months ago
0.30g BB will be fine.
Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 7 months ago
@phantomTMA would a .20g work well?
azzkicker7283 7 months ago
@azzkicker7283 No it is too light, so inaccurate in a bolt action. You need 0.25g in a low power bolt gun and 0.30g to 0.40g in a high power.

i dont know what i should get ghillie suit, or a camuflage suit thing where i use elastic bands and stuff to stuff it with vegetation. What do you recommend getting? im a beginner too?
hajabakala 7 months ago
If possible, get an LLCS Jack Pyke suit. Its either green or brown, so won't do all year round no doubt.
Concealment vest are great but take 30 minutes to cam up. Traditional ghillies are very encumbering and hot. They are bad when they get wet too. Get a camelback and cam that up with elastic bands.

it must suck if your partner gets hit and all you have is a sniper and 10 guys flank youand know your position
ComanderViper 7 months ago
That's why sometimes it really helps to carry little and move fast. Running and dodging is part of evasion at times and can yield great results. Opponents can get strung out trying to chase you.... or lose you and then you can either set another ambush ot flank them. Trying to pick them off one at a time. You can soon tie up 10 men, if the site is big enough and you are wiley.

You are kind of right. However, we both moved off sharpish, as we deduced, that we needed to reposition, before the opponents (we had heard) arrived. In this film, neither of us were spotted at any time (not even the end).

@phantomTMA Why?
hollandrules95 6 months ago
For those interested in ghillie suits. Don't buy them, make them. That brings up a much better, if not cheaper, product. WebTex vest's work, but not as good as a ghillie suit, as long as you stay in the shade, the WebTex should work fine.
But if you're moving in somewhat more open terrain, a home-made ghillie is recommended.
ITotaldutchI 10 months ago
I think the webtex is actually better; as if you cover it in natural foliage, it is better than trying to simulate such foliage. Nothing is more realistic than foliage, than actual foliage itself. Simply add your garnish to the webtex concealment vest and you have a great ghillie with so many elastic loops its stupid.
Good Hunting ;)
phantomTMA 10 months ago
@phantomTMA Well that is true, but the real ghillie suits, like the military versions, use netting which has Jute twines and burlap attached. Of course the Jute and Burlap is in natural colours, but with the netting, you can attach Naturals to your suit. Nice job anyways.
ITotaldutchI 10 months ago
You will find the typical military suit that uses netting means that the suit takes far longer to veg up and even then the foliage will fall out quicker. Such suits are pretty obsolete now imo.
Good Hunting ;)

Im a retired marine scout sniper and saw this video looking up sniper kills to remember my golden days. Not sure what airsoft is but just a hint if you want to be real snipers. Real snipers stay below the vegetation, away from the base of trees, you young men move to much, and also sometimes your camoflauge didnt match the surrounding vegetation fir example the surroundings were green at some parts and you would see a silloute of a darker/dead green.
z7mathewsbowhunter 10 months ago 2
No offence, but the amount of "retired snipers" on here is hilarious. Looking at your profile, I somewhat doubt what you say. That is irrelevant anyway, as I don't want to be a real sniper. This is not real sniping as we shoot from close up and have to break the rules otherwise, we would not be able to move in the forest for fear of moving near a tree or somewhere that is a different colour background. No matter what you say, in this encounter, the other team did not see us once.
Good Hunting

Fourniertrent1 11 months ago
Just a hint. Stay away from the base of trees. It's incredibly easy to spot especially when at a vantage point. They are referred to as "Tree Cancers." Also I noticed a few times you where shooting with the Sun in front of you. Try to stalk in a direction that puts the sun at your back or at least not so much of your front. Scope Glint is a dead give away. All around pretty decent for no training.

MarineReflex117 11 months ago
i play both paintball and airsoft, but a 300fps paintball gernerally will pack a bit more of a punch then a bb bc going to 600fps and the bb has a very little mass, and the paintball is much heavier than a bb, so do the math and u will figure out that a paintball actaully flies at a harder pace than a bb, but i love both sports so idc
Stryker0726 11 months ago
im sorta new to airsoft, and i was wondering if i should be a rifleman style of player with an aeg assault rifle, or if i should spend my time learning and mastering the skill of sniping?

sitting right at the bottom of a tree is the worst thing a sniper could do. it gives the opposition a perfect line to sight straight down to the sniper. ALWAYS STAY DOWN AND IN THE OPEN!!!!!

You guys are good but you move way too much and way too fast , you also fire too meny spoilers
markusruhl79 1 year ago
I agree, at least on paper, but sometimes you DO have to move fast. Indeed, our shooting could have been better, but what you need to remember is that the rifles in this fil are sub 300fps (very low powered) factory standard VSR10; that makes it somewhat harder to get the pellet on target at range/against a moving target and get it registered when someone is wearing a ghillie. Since then we have moved on... check our later films.

Do you think an A&Kdragunov with 500 fps would be able to hit targets at 250 feet plus witha .3
stealthyairsoft996 1 year ago
I have not seen that gun. It will be able to do that, but not very often at all. Consistancy is what makes a good bolty and I doubt a cheap Chinese gun is somehow better than the expensive Japanese models.

@stealthyairsoft996 get the new echo 1 m28 im aboutto buy one the are probably the best out of the box sniper rifles on the airsoft market they are better than my utg l96
therussianredneck7 11 months ago
Do you think an A&Kdragunov with an m150 would last me in an airsoft war because I will stick my AK on my back and the dragunov has 500 fps.I used to have a well l96 and didnt have any luck with that so if you could sugest any hard hitting accurate snipers you should.
stealthyairsoft996 1 year ago
I would not carry 2 large rifles. Powerful and accurate out of the box, doesn't really exist in Airsoft. Best bolt action rifles are VSR/BAR types but you have to upgrade them and even then you have to play to their strengths. The well l96 sums it up and you don't want to waste money/time again, do you.
Good Hunting ;)

Try to buy something 100% compatible with the VSR10. That way, it is not a starter rifle that you have to replace later on. Try to get a BAR10 if you want a cheap version.

Many people have problems with the mp001. The fact it takes vsr10 parts is good, but, the original parts are poor quality. You will probably have to fit new sears.

@REZINE89 If you are willing too put $200 more or less, time modifying the upgrade parts putting them into the gun then yes.
But at that point I would just get a Echo 1 M28.
