I got a nintendo wii for christmas and I just got this game and Metroid Prime 2 at a game store. Even though I don't have a gamecube, my wii can play gamecube games. I got a gamecube controller and memory card so I can play them and save data. So yeah, I just started playing this game the first time.
Ok, the graphics are amazing, I'm shocked how Nintendo manged this, I mean... the graphics are better than Halo! And belive me, I don't say that often.
I can't remember I fought a robotic version of my dragon archenemy to the death after he just destroyed the only method of saving a planet as he flew around the indestructible entrance to the source of all evil. I mean, seriously? Could they have made an even more epic battle?
In the beginning of the game, he appeared to still be under construction, except he broke free of his medical equipment when Samus discovered him on the Frigate. That might explain why the plating was still thin there.
i loved when games were like this. now most games suck. they focus too much on quick time events and graphics, not gameplay. plus i believe Nintendo doesnt get the credit they deserve. i believe their consoles can handle graphics better than we think. i mean look at games like this and Resident Evil 4. there is no framerate problems, the games run smoothly, and had amazing detail and looked just stunning. even today, this game still looks great. testiment to the power of Nintendo's consoles.
@TheManOfIdeas I guess this one focusses on finding out the cause? There's not really much of such a focus as in the other two (one of the reasons why this one is still the best imo).

@MrGerardocardenas Lol i played this game on hard mode and I didn't die once. The closest point of where i was to dying was at the very beginning, I was trying to scan a Space Pirate and it kept shooting me. by the time i killed it, i had 7 energy points.

In the second round, when he loses his wings and comes to the ground, he keeps jumping and trying to smash you. More: It takes at least 3 charged plasma shots to stun him, and he surely has much more energy. In the end, when he has just a little energy, it is almost impossible to dodge his running atack. It is a 30 minute fight... Or more.

@dgrs1977BH I'm not sure, but I played it on hard mode. He was really hard, not as hard as omega pirate though, what a spammer. I don't own metroid trilogy. I bet is harder, since it has new smoother controls, you could probably beat them faster, that's why they are harder in that game, than the GameCube versions, which I have.
@MoldyMooseTeeth Ugh, The first and third out of the Prime series are your favourites, the Prime series arent the only Metroid games, you should look into the side scrollers for the gameboy advance (Metroid Fusion, and Metroid Zero Mission) and then there is the original Metroid for the NES console, and for the Super Nintendo you have Super Metroid, which is my favourite Metroid game of all time.

Hands down, this fight with Ridley is the most epic video game battle I have ever experienced and it even far exceeds Retro's return of Ridley in MP3. Everything about the battle is brilliant; especially the way Ridley starts acting like an unpredictable and crazed animal as he gets closer to being defeated. Prime's bosses were expertly designed to be hard-as-hell while never feeling like they cheat or take cheap shortcuts to reduce your energy (i.e. Fusion's spider boss).
@ultimathewarrior As much as I hate to admit it your right, and as much as Metroid Prime vastly superior to Metroid Other M the Ridley boss fight is much better.
You have finally collected all 12 of the Chozo Artifacts. You are extremely relived when you have finally finished the most tedious part of this game, and you are ready to beat this game and are really hyped up for the ending. You walk up to the center of the Chozo Temple, but who shows up and destroys the Temple? META MOTHERFUCKING RIDLEY!
Okay I am going to settle the Halo vs Metroid debate. THEY ARE BOTH GOOD GAMES!!!! I played and enjoyed all the Halo games and Metroid games. It is important to understand the difference between both games. Halo is a first person shooter, Metroid is a first person adventure.
Super Missles would have gotten the job done quicker, but nice job dodging most of his attacks, although using the Boost Ball was not needed. Very nicely done keeping Ridley on its heels in the melee portion of the fight.
Its better to use Super Missiles on Meta Ridley, beams do very little damage to it; you have 220 missiles so I see no reason not to use all of them. Anyway, back in '03 I beat Meta Ridley on Hard without getting damaged once during either phase of the fight. You did better than most people I've seen during that fight, congrats. :D
damn, i know im not the only one whos heart rate went off the charts when this theme played and you see Ridley flying in the distance. no doubt one of the best boss battle in any game.
I love the sound those missiles make! I miss this game, I remember killing Ridley since super metroid I was upset when he didn't come out in metroid prime Echoes. The bosses in this game were always a challenge, my hands would always shake a little when I was done killing them. Gameplay adrenaline :D
Man, I have absolutely fallen in love with this game. I got it for Christmas. I'd considered myself a fan of Metroid, since I had owned and loved Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion, and beaten them both many times. And then I took up interest in this game and eventually got it for Christmas, and I beat it a few weeks ago, and man, how awesome. I still love Zero Mission and Fusion, but this game just blows them away.

That's true, but it deals very small damage, especially to a big menacing boss like Ridley. The Plasma Beam doesn't shoot QUITE as fast (though it's in the same neighborhood) as the Power Beam, but it does about 10x as much damage per shot. The Plasma Beam does damage MUCH faster than the Power Beam. Power Beam is still awesome, but Plasma Beam is better IMO.
@Maverickdude97 I use the power beam due to the Super missiles. I added a video up on this fight and you can see what I mean there if you want to watch it. XD
This was hard to beat, I was getting the wings burnt off it quickly with almost all energy left but then kept dying, thanks for showing me how to kill it!

@maitallica Right ^^ Other M is a good Metroid but it cannot deal with the Prime Trilogy or Super Metroid :-D They're MUCH better (almost godlike) ^.Ó

@PhazonKing Thats why there are alot of idiots who hate Metroid Other M, becasue while its a good game in its own rights it can't come close to this masterpeace of a game. That being said Metroid Other M is still an overall great game in its own right.

F-Zero GX was later and had better graphics, even Twilight Princess is still regarded as one of the most beautiful and detailed games for any console and was designed for the GameCube. The PS2 and XBox had better cutscenes because were pre-rendered, learn that

That's true, but it deals very small damage, especially to a big menacing boss like Ridley. The Plasma Beam doesn't shoot QUITE as fast (though it's in the same neighborhood) as the Power Beam, but it does about 10x as much damage per shot. The Plasma Beam does damage MUCH faster than the Power Beam. Power Beam is still awesome, but Plasma Beam is better IMO.
