OK. I haven't read all comments, but as a viewer of "Live" "Inside Edition" lied. The 2 clips of Kelly covering Regis' mouth were during their Travel Trivia contest with contestants on the phone. Kelly did not cover Regis' mouth over "Friendly bickering" as the reporter said, she tried to keep Regis from accidently saying the answer, before the contestant gave an answer to their question. OK. I haven't read all comments, but as a viewer of "Live" "Inside Edition" lied. The 2 clips of Kelly covering Regis' mouth were during their Travel Trivia contest with contestants on the phone. Personally, I do not like people being too familiar with me if we are not close, personal friends. I totally understand and support Kelly's reaction. It was rude to do that during a stint as a GUEST interviewer on someone else's show. Clay Aiken has had trouble with etiquette before. He needs to learn the etiquette of celebrity and how to behave in someone else's domain.
Kelly handled the situation in a way that is true to the classy woman that she is.

This IE report is ridiculous!
#1- Kelly Ripa and Regis are close, personal friends and CO-HOSTS.
#2- Kelly stated that u do not cover someone's mouth while they're conducting an interview. When Kelly covered Regis' mouth it was not during an interview.
#3- Clay is not Kelly's CO-HOST or friend, he was a guest on the show. Who wants a virtual stanger's hands in ur face?

You know, I've not yet seen the actual context of those two Kelly examples, which are totally different anyway because she has rapport with Regis (not a guest host).
It actually looked staged... watch Regis, he sits really still (hamming it up?). Look at Kelly's expression while doing it.

Haha those clips are hilarious cause well Kelly was putting her hands over regis mouth to stop him from giving away the trivia answers out loud! Regis is known for blurting out the answers. And Kelly has known Regis for what 8 years now? And Clay she met that day? Can't even compare the two. I stand by Kelly Ripa. I wouldn't want anyone I only just met to think they had the right to silence me on my OWN talk show! Remember it's Live with Regis and Kelly not Clay. And I am not homophobic either!

Insider Edition is once again comparing apples to oranges. Kelly Ripa does not have the same relationship with Clay Aiken as she has with Regis. Furthermore, if you look at the entire interview leading up to the "hand" incident, you'll notice Aiken was becoming increasingly upset that Kelly wouldn't let him get a word in--which talk hosts seem prone to do.
He was being rude maybe because he thought she was being rude and she responded in kind. Rude maybe, homophobic--that's a real stretch.

I think Kelly is a hypocrite and a snob, I think Clay shoulda jack slapped her ass, lol. She totally overreacted! I hate Inside Edition SO much. Why was this even news? I can't believe they actually interviewed a doctor about the danger of germs. What a pathetic display of Journalism. And another Kelly is obviously a hypocrite since she has done it to Regis before. To be fair, it wasn't the best thing in the world for Clay to put his hand on her mouth but why overreact like that!?

The thing is she didnt make a big deal about it! She just said "i dont know where that hand has been." Its not like she yelled at him or punched him! Everyone else is making a big deal out of it. regis and kelly are friends... if one of my friends put there hand on my mouth i'd laugh. if someone i hardly knew did... i would be pretty disgusted and probably freak out more then Kelly did!

If...then, carrie, 'hands' are hands, wheter they are your friends, a new associate's, or your own. they are probably all germ-laden as the Dr pointed out. If you tolerate the face-touching from someone you 'know', you are not as smart as you want to appear. One more thing, remember your cautious stance next time you are engaged in a passionate and intimate oral/anything contact with another person. Have a bottle of bleach in your fannie-pack or something.
