The way this thing moves is absolutely amazing. It's so berserk and non-human like. Other lion dancers are somewhat robot-like with their moves, but this two actually put the "lion" back in "lion dance".
Happy Chinese New Year of The Dragon! Thx for The EXCELLENT Lion Dancing, which originated one thousand years ago, from China, The Han & Song Dynasties. The Lions express their Happiness & Joy, in their dances. The Lion Dances are usually performed by Martial Arts Schools such as Kung Fu, Tae Kwando & Karate, reflecting 'The Style Of Kung Fu', which is very SKILFUL, BEAUTIFUL, EXCITING & SEXY! SUPER! MAGNIFICENT! Miss Lois Jane Terex Lee @ Lee Wren Aha Ngwe; Email: AsianDreams2012@gmail.com
@MewSumomo1 theyr is strings inside you pull to move the ears and eyes. and the mouth is always held with your hand and you just move it with ur fingers.
Almost the exact same lion came to my school today. . It is funny when the stumble or when the dude in the head runs too fast and the dude in the tail is left behind fully exposed. lol. It is a wonderful experience tho. I highly recommend seeing this in person if you haven't already.
Really good :D but footwork from the tail and head were not in sync! Thats probably what killed their score. Take your time doing it! YKM REPRESENT! :D
revolversmoke: They use both the flat mouthed and the curved mouthed one,as seen here. The flat mouthed is the hok san lion, while the curved is Fut san. Their styles of dancing are different.
thanks for the links, but I still don't understand why they use hok san drumming for fut san style. Is this common and proper? In this video, watch?v=8XXXK_aWZgY , the drumming also sounds like hok san but it's supposed to be a fut san dance.

i know that's a fut san lion head, but is the dancing style fut san or hok san? Is the drumming hok san or fut san?
xcyber347 3 years ago
fut san style. its more aggressive and active than the hok san. the drumming always stays hok san.
weene858 3 years ago
so they're doing a fut-san dance style with hok san drumming? what's the difference between fut san drumming and hok san drumming?
