  • @jaxonlzninja5 relax bud, it was just question.

  • those towns are like a time capsule of how it was 50 years ago, or more....crazy, but some prefer the simple life.

  • What the hell do you do in North Dakota?

  • @lessyoureal what the hell do u do in ur state exactly u dont know a thing about ND i actually know about it ive lived there my whole live

  • Trust me, I currently live in Anaheim CA!! And I cannot stand it anymore! I want to move my 2 sons (5 and 3) to the part of the country where part of my family came from.....the Dakota's!!! Trust me guys go back.........keep the land even if you dont farm it. Don't give it back to the government!! I want the Dakota life for myself and my family!!

  • damn did you see all the black people.

  • Oh no the population isnt growing, its evening out and stabilizing. The whole world should just continue to keep growing at a huge rate so we can have such a over populated world so that the poverty will spread. Screw what anyone else says I like living in my stable state.

  • I love small towns! No crime no traffic everybody knows each other its soo nice.

  • why doesnt US declare war on North Dakota???

  • I'm 19 years old & living in Fargo, ND. I'm from the small town of Oakes, ND, population 2,000. Not much bigger than Crosby. And I beg to differ. Oakes is on it's way to bigger & better things. We have a new hospital, new gym, new retail store, & new hotel. Oakes, even though having lost 24 people in 10 years, is growing w/ new businesses. I would love to live in a small town, raise a family, & live out my life in a small town. Living in a small town was the best thing that ever happened to me!

  • I'm in Williston, ND and as of late, the problem of decreasing people has been the least of our worries due to the oil up here, we need houses built, and we need them now!

  • wow when negros come, it will also look like detroit

  • I grew up in ND and the small town culture there can not be matched. Making it through tough winters only facilitates community and makes the summer and spring that much greater! Crosby, ND is a different story nowadays as the oil industry is moving in fast. I only worry for what this will do to this great culture when all the big money and big oil starts taking over.

  • So amazingly white. Maybe I'll take the job offer.

  • North Dakota is the best place in US.

  • Im 14 and live in South Carolina. When i get older you can bet your sweet ass im moving to ND. Im gonna spend every living second hunting, farming, and doing what ever i want. Its were my grandpa went every summer to train bird dogs. I dont care if they have diffrent accents from southern people, damn it ILL LEARN!

  • i cant stand cold weather.

  • pisses me off, trying to invite people here. kinda nice not having to lock your doors or having some niggers steal your bike, yes i said niggers. there are black people too

  • and I want North Dakota boys, I heard them is still virgin...

  • @bibikula Do you a girl or a boy???

If you a boy, that's must be creepy.....

anyway that's not ypur bussiness if someone still virgin or not especially for boys...

So go suck your ball, pedos!!!!!

  • Well I want move to North Dakota, i hate big cities....

  • @bibikula No want forces you to live in big cities......and I'm sure big cities also hate you!!!

  • @hunkshunter PHACK YOU!

  • My dad is a Choctaw, graduated HS to get out of Oklahoma and join the military. Went around the country and the world, never moved back. I did go w/him a few years back to Shawnee- kinda identify with this video's sentiment. I don't want to live in a huge city, but a place like Crosby would make me crazy, too. Nothing wrong with it, just couldn't stay because I'd go stir crazy.

  • im thinking about moving here!

  • Belcourt is the best town in ND thts wat i think.. snowmobile riding all day!

  • the only good thing about living in a small town in ND would probably be..snow days. you probably get LOADS of snow days.

sadly i live in fargo, and we're lucky if we get one. i get so jealous when everyone else gets days off when we don't. haha

  • @pinkdancer4 I think we should. But it takes like 2 feets of snow. We get one like ever 3 years.

  • @homlessrichy no computer there???

  • That's because of the chemical manufacturers who put the farmers out of business. It was a willful thing on the part of big business. Now that banks have taken the land, they are desperately trying to find a way to break even on the stupid business tactics of the beauracrats.

  • Divide County is not that small compared to some other schools in the area.

  • Isn't divide county like the only school in the whole county?

  • maybe in the county but there are more schools in the area. some towns i heard like alamo used to have like 20000 people and now there is like one house there. and most of the schools have shut down and combined with another school with kids going wherever they want.

  • do people really walk like that at commencement? lol

  • haha that Hagen girl must be related to Mad Mike Hagen...go 27x

  • Why do a lot of people not come to North Dakota? Because it's really cold during the winter! : ) I love living in North Dakota, but the winters can be quite killer.

And hey I've been through Crosby. What a cute little town. And my school has only about 26 graduating seniors for 2010.

There's a lot to like about little towns. It's nice to be able to walk the streets and not have to worry about getting mugged.

  • exactly I live in a town of only 1400 people and my class has 41 people graduating in 2015 and there is another class in our town that graduates in 2019 which has 45 kids in it and that is this year in 2011 we coop with 2 more towns which have 15 more kids for each

  • Isn't it amazing? Though I have to admit the pace of the town kills me. ^^ Everyone's so relaxed about absolutely everything. But there's a lot of people you'd never expect hiding out in small towns.

  • Such a peaceful decent life, I live in Canada and have been through that town when I worked in ND years ago- it's very pretty and the people are the greatest and the farmers on both sides of the border would give you the shirt off their back.

  • Class of 26!!!! Damn My highschool class is like 400

  • Yea dude. I was reading the paper(I live in ND) and some small town here had a grad class of 11.

  • @chronic00 26 ain't shit chronic. In Kansas our class has 28 but a town up a bit north of where I'm at has only 5 KIDS IN THEIR CLASS!!!!!!!!!!

  • @chronic00 I go to the biggest highschool in the state and my class is 200

  • @tjcool412121 obviously you don tknow what you talking about cuz i go to mandan and my class is way bigger

  • Hey johnnathanx...I'm sorry you live in New Jersey,,,what a shithole!

  • Hey, johnnathanx, our state has a $1.6 billion dollar surplus of funds during this recession. We're doing pretty good up here for ourselves because we spend it wisely.

How much does your state of NJ have for money???

  • @GibsonFella Spend money wisely? When? It's because of the oil in the northwest.

  • well ND has been doing a bit damn better than some states with the recession, and it has some of the most fertile areas in the US, even though there are some small areas, there are some areas like Fargo-Moorhead where it is for much of the time thriving well in the appreciation of the Arts and Music with local involvement of the local area of colleges.

  • @johnnathanx New Jersey what the heck ever happened there?!?!?

  • i grew up in a community of 200 people in eastern canada when you grow up in a place like that all you can think about is when you get to leave for the last 15 years i have lived in cities in industrialized areas now all i think about is will i ever go back

  • Right now we live in San Diego and I cant wait to move back to ND. Little traffic, you can trust your neighbor-you actually know your neighbor. The people are genuine and you dont find that very much anymore. If you don't have those qualities then I could care less what you think of my home state let alone have you move there to reside.

  • I was stationed at the Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota when I was a very young man. Now, 28 years later, I realize that I never met people more genuine or decent than North Dakotans. The small towns are charming and the food at the small cafes is literally a home-cooked meal. Knowing North Dakotans, if they can survive floods and tough winters, they will emerge stronger.

  • I'm kind of angry at half the people in this video, they're just making it seem like north dakota is this hopeless horrible place with nothing to offer, which is completely untrue. shouldn't you be proud of where you come from?

  • standing rock

  • That commentators a cocky sun of a bitch.. i wanna go kick his ass.. (cocky city wigger)

  • lol i live in lakota ND on highway 2... mapes has a pop of like 5

  • Been to Ray, too.

  • Divide County...interviewed there, and I actually spent a week there once.

  • I also agree with DrSTV, 100 miles is nothing, my parents live in Bismarck and i go to college at NDSU in fargo, thats 200 miles and its a breeze, btw, kids get 4.0s cuz there smart and hard working, not cuz of the declining School system u dumb Californian mother fucker who hasnt worked a day in his entire life

  • exactly, our state should leave the union! we have plenty of oil, food, etc...

  • hey im from kindred

  • you think Crosby is small, go to Kindred ND.. population 600.. we are closer to Fargo tho.. That's nice

  • ill match one of yours to ours!!!

  • yeah we have hardly any people here, we do have a 3.7 Billion dollar budget....and thats just for the North Dakota State Fair!

  • Man, that's America right there.

  • Crosby's actually a pretty cool little town. The reporter makes it sound like none of these kids will ever come back. Statistically tho, about 2/3 will stay in ND to attend college, and about half will choose to remain in ND after graduation. Also, folks in ND think nothing of driving 100 miles or more to see family or friends, so even if they end up living in MInot or Bismarck, or even Fargo, they'll be coming back., sooner or later.

  • Shut up we have plenty of people my school it over crowded. Yeah compared to like california were very very very very very small but it aint no ghost town

  • this is so stupid...in Fargo (where i live) My school just got a family of bosneans with like 80 people in it...its so retarted.

  • somtimes new over does it but is happening we just need to attract people to the nebraska south dekota and north dokota i presonaly love nebraska and the dekotas i did like living in south i like i here alot. sure i miss a few friends but it way better than some city.

  • North Dakota is a humble state. I'm from a large city and I always look forward to visiting friends in North Dakota. The people there are second to none. Keep doing with your doing North Dakota, obviously your doing something right being the only state in the union with a budget surplus!

  • We got to get off this foreign oil crap ASAP!

Get America out of the Middle East, were tired of babysitting the world!

  • babysitting? does ogres sit with babies or eat them? what have you done to iraq and afghanistan? where are the 100,000 deads you sat with?

  • how about you go live back in a cave, and if you live in the US, then leave...... Wait, how about you go over and kill each other over there... I could care less

  • Here's what you should do if you want to really develop North Dakota!

Give Israel all the land that they will need to transfer all Israelis from the Middle East to North Dakota!

Just get them the hell outta there and just let the whole Middle East burn to the ground!

    Let them pound sand!

Then Iran can blow up whoever they want! Iran can take over Saudi Arabia! The Palestinians can have all the frikken land they want, etc, etc, etc!

  • That's a shame, it's just to damn cold!

  • FUCK YOU, ND ROCKS

  • I moved to ND (southwest part) six years ago, after 31 years in Seattle (where I always thought I'd stay). I'm enjoying the quiet beauty of the place, being able to see stars, aurora borealis, watch storms approach from 100 miles away...Tonight, a quiet snow falls, brightening the land. Rather than feeling isolated here, we consider it "The Middle of Everywhere"...now, if we could get our friends to visit us out here!!

  • The name of our Great State instantly conjurs up images of ice and snow, and people view us as the last place on earth they'd want to live. And that's EXACTLY the way we want it...

  • i live in north dakota im a high school senior right now and im going to live in this state forever. i live in the east part of the state and its just a great place to live.

  • I am thoroughly disappointed in whoever presented this news story. They did absolutely no homework and are presenting information on a place they obviously know absolutely nothing about. *HUGE thumbs down*

  • This video was taped in the most remote area of NoDak. Does anyone on here know anything about NoDak? In the area which Crosby is located there are very very few permanent residents and this area is very desolate. This is one of the most beautiful, culture-rich states. There are thousands of towns dotting the prairie everywhere. Just because there are no huge cities does NOT mean this place is depressing and deserted.

  • Also, it's better to have a relatively stable population than one that grows exponentially. That way houses don't take up half the state and destroy this great prairie.

  • I plan to move to ND. These kids should stay there. They just don't respect it as much, I guess, as people who've had to spend their entire lives in a goddamn suburb.

  • It's too bad this story didn't run two years ago when it was taped (May 2006). The areas portrayed in it are currently undergoing a boom due to oil exploration. There is now a housing shortage because so many people are moving to the area for high paying oil field jobs.

  • its not that lonely, sure there is not a lot of people here, but you know everyone and everyone is always nice to you. Unlike in the bigger towns where everyone is self centered and stuck up

  • I love North Dakota I was bon and raise i am training to be a butcher i plan on move back to my small town and opening a custum butcher shop/ slater house i love the small town living and people that go with it and for the imgration thing the north dakota people i know open their arms so all kinds becouse it take all kinds

  • @ I do oceanbound222. I live 1 hour from Crosby. Issues aren't always in a highly populated city. Start businesses in area's like this creates opportunities. More opportunity = more of a robust economy.

  • You've got to be kidding me...

This is the same network that repeatedly broadcasted the beheading of an American civilian in Iraq. Is that the kind of journalistic example you are looking for?

  • Al-jazeera claims to have never shown a beheading on their program. I can't vouch for the truth of this, but I've never seen any evidence that they have. Does anyone know if such a clip actually exists?

  • Google Nick Berg and Al Jazeera...you'll find it.

  • I did a search, but I didn't find a clip of al-jazeera actually showing the beheading. According to the Guardian Newspaper in London, Al-jazeera has never shown a beheading. The paper even apologized for claiming that they did.

  • Who gives a fuck about the US
