@SuperKenny720 The F-22 can travel at about mach 2.5 which is about 1,900 m/h, so pretty fuckin fast. They can also carry six AMRAAM and two AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles. You wouldnt wan't to come across this thing in anything but another F-22.
I don't t really get why people compare the raptor to future 5th gen fighters? The raptor was the first 5th gen fighter successful. It's meant to be overcome by future aircrafts right? Common sense people...Pak Fa WILL be better, and so is J-20. But the raptor shouldn't take the heat. Instead, the f-35 should.

F-22 = in active duty, still best A 2 A filgter. super cruise, AESA radar installed, better stealth, works great with AWACS, limited multi role capability due to DoD decision not to upgrade fleet. Currently grounded due to OBOGS issue

@C0mmanderEddingt0n That's exactly right. Production was haulted(they weren't scrapped) because they are so dominant(and because they cost 120 million a plane). Nothing can fight with them. The U.S. does not need anymore than it already has for the F-22's limited role as a primary dogfighter/interceptor. And although the Raptor has been modified for air-to-ground already, the F-35 will be the next mass production attack aircraft---coming soon to a theater near you----without you knowing it.
OR... your country is almost broke, has a poor credit rating, has huge loans it cannot pay back and bleeds itself dry in foreign wars hence it has no money for overpriced, overhyped toys like the F22

Oh and a little advice. If a production line of a plane is closed thats a serious thing. Just to compare, the F15 & F16 were in continuous production for many many years. Reason was they were effective weapons and the airforce wanted more.
@C0mmanderEddingt0n Have you looked at how the numbers of Eurofighters, Rafales, and aircraft from all over the world have been cut back in production? It's due to the economic times not the quality of the aircraft. The F-15 and 16 production lines are still open primarily for foreign sales, and the F22 is not permitted to be sold abroad.

@GoringSS Not even. With rookie pilots, the F22 still beat the Rafale in UAE. While the F22 went undefeated in UAE, the Rafale did not. The Rafale even fought old F-16A's 1 v1 in Arizona and still only won 4-2. The F-22 has consistently gone up against aircraft in large numbers against it and still won.

F15 SE after another...the pilot of the EF was 4 months in training.with activated target radar or hot weapons, the f22 glows like a christmastree. i do not say, the EF is the better airplane, but the f22 is not invulnerable.

I like the Eurofighter, but it is no way better than the F22 at A2A combat. And the F22 has never gone to Germany for exercises so your 1st paragraph is a lie. + The Eurofighter recently ost 3 times to the F-16. You won't see that happen w/ the F22.

@theplayamasta I heard about those exercises in Germany. From what I gatehred on defence fourms is that the DACT exercises had the F-15's on a stirke mission while the Eurofighters were on intercept. Before judging an aircraft vs. an aricraft you need to look at the mission profile. Believe me,, I like the Eurofighter. It's a very capable fighter.
Every Ffighter pilot does not agree that the Eurofighter is better than the F22 in dogfights. That's hogwash. You didn't see the F22
losing to the Rafale 7 ot of 8 times to the Rafale in UAE; and in UAE, the F22's did it with rookie pilots, & going undefeated!

@TheTequilaShooter ok...you made your homework.for me less believable than the lake china incident. to the incident over germany: the two f15's were on an interception training mission. one of them locked the ef2000trainer, which was on low level flighttraining mission. after the first lock all three jets played a liitle...which endet up in two 'down' f15's from the ramstein af base within 2.3 minutes, which is impressive. (knowing there was no us f15 lost by enemy fire since in service)
@theplayamasta Do you even know what a DACT exercise means? If you did, you would understand that it's not an exercise that assesses one plane vs. another.
I wouldn't be surpised at all if a Eurofighter beat an F-15, especailly at a dogfight. The Eurofighter is very nible. The F-15 will excell at BVR with its superior AESA radar.
However, it's complete BS that you think a Eurofighter is better than the F22,. Even at WVR it has been proven difficult to lock, and is very agile, too.

@theplayamasta I think the Eurofighter will take it with no doubt. It's proving in Libya that it is also a good strike aircraft, it's the only aircraft that comes closest to supercruising, it's very agile, it has a high T/W ratio at high speeds, great situational awareness, etc. If you read "dogfights" by Ashley Tellis, he mentioned how it confromed most to the RFP. I think what the Indians like most is that it is an aircraft that they can build on.

@kaisergrendel the problem with the F22 and seeing impact is its virtually impossible to catch it on camera. A) the plane can lock on and kill you up to 23 miles away or something like that... and B) On gun kills it is flying so fast the cam never gets a chance to catch the fight..

T-50 = big, fast, probably good range, no AESA yet, no super cruise yet, 2015 active service service date is an unreachable goal, stealth needs improvement, probably alot cheaper, not as good of an air dominance fighter but probably the best multi roll fighter.
F-22 = in active duty, still best A 2 A filgter. super cruise, AESA radar installed, better stealth, works great with AWACS, limited multi role capability due to DoD decision not to upgrade fleet. Currently grounded due to OBOGS issue

the idea behind stealth is that it reduces the time the enemy has to detect and react to the planes.
technology has caught up and these planes are detected now by the latest radar at good ranges

@C0mmanderEddingt0n That's exactly right. Production was haulted(they weren't scrapped) because they are so dominant(and because they cost 120 million a plane). Nothing can fight with them. The U.S. does not need anymore than it already has for the F-22's limited role as a primary dogfighter/interceptor. And although the Raptor has been modified for air-to-ground already, the F-35 will be the next mass production attack aircraft---coming soon to a theater near you----without you knowing it.

It's due to the economic times not the quality of the aircraft. The F-15 and 16 production lines are still open primarily for foreign sales, and the F22 is not permitted to be sold abroad.

Do some research and you'll see its costs have gone sky high. and finally, at least the F22 (with rookie pilots behind the stick) didn't lose to the Rafale 7 out of 8 times like the eurofighter.

@GoringSS Not even. With rookie pilots, the F22 still beat the Rafale in UAE. While the F22 went undefeated in UAE, the Rafale did not. The Rafale even fought old F-16A's 1 v1 in Arizona and still only won 4-2. The F-22 has consistently gone up against aircraft in large numbers against it and still won.

recently, there was an training operation in america (lake whatever...), carried out by the RAF and the USAF...anyway, the EF 2000 Typhoon dominated the sky. 4 to 1 kills. i although i must admit it was 'fight at sight'over germany an EF 2000 trainer 'shot' down 3
F15 SE after another...the pilot of the EF was 4 months in training.with activated target radar or hot weapons, the f22 glows like a christmastree. i do not say, the EF is the better airplane, but the f22 is not invulnerable.

I like the Eurofighter, but it is no way better than the F22 at A2A combat. And the F22 has never gone to Germany for exercises so your 1st paragraph is a lie. + The Eurofighter recently ost 3 times to the F-16. You won't see that happen w/ the F22.

@theplayamasta I heard about those exercises in Germany. From what I gatehred on defence fourms is that the DACT exercises had the F-15's on a stirke mission while the Eurofighters were on intercept. Before judging an aircraft vs. an aricraft you need to look at the mission profile. Believe me,, I like the Eurofighter. It's a very capable fighter.
Every Ffighter pilot does not agree that the Eurofighter is better than the F22 in dogfights. That's hogwash. You didn't see the F22

@TheTequilaShooter ok...you made your homework.for me less believable than the lake china incident. to the incident over germany: the two f15's were on an interception training mission. one of them locked the ef2000trainer, which was on low level flighttraining mission. after the first lock all three jets played a liitle...which endet up in two 'down' f15's from the ramstein af base within 2.3 minutes, which is impressive. (knowing there was no us f15 lost by enemy fire since in service)

@theplayamasta Do you even know what a DACT exercise means? If you did, you would understand that it's not an exercise that assesses one plane vs. another.
I wouldn't be surpised at all if a Eurofighter beat an F-15, especailly at a dogfight. The Eurofighter is very nible. The F-15 will excell at BVR with its superior AESA radar.
However, it's complete BS that you think a Eurofighter is better than the F22,. Even at WVR it has been proven difficult to lock, and is very agile, too.

@TheTequilaShooter ...yes, i konw what dact means, and i guess, neither you or me have the mission-profile of one of those planes. how ever, if you know, all ef2000 of the LW are equipped with CAESAR and CAPTOR-3...combined with the prst1 (Pirate System) it is the most powerful air/ground radar, even capable of neutralising any radarjammers.
(tested 2006...upgraded 2008 until now)

@theplayamasta I think the Eurofighter will take it with no doubt. It's proving in Libya that it is also a good strike aircraft, it's the only aircraft that comes closest to supercruising, it's very agile, it has a high T/W ratio at high speeds, great situational awareness, etc. If you read "dogfights" by Ashley Tellis, he mentioned how it confromed most to the RFP. I think what the Indians like most is that it is an aircraft that they can build on.

@kaisergrendel the problem with the F22 and seeing impact is its virtually impossible to catch it on camera. A) the plane can lock on and kill you up to 23 miles away or something like that... and B) On gun kills it is flying so fast the cam never gets a chance to catch the fight..
