  • great interview...

  • Cracking keys player; great sax player; tremendous singer; nice harmonica player; conservatoire-trained french horn player... also built like a brick shithouse and got to go to bed with Cybill Shepherd. Makes me sick... :oD

  • Yeah, I know the picture is from his website...but I'd rather not have ONE picture of a shirtless guy on my screen for 20 minutes

  • Music Is Best!

  • I'm good friend's with Robert or ''Bob's'' Son, I knew him awhike before he mentioned his dad was a backing keyboardist for Frank Zappa & Stevie Nicks Naturally i said HAH right then come to find out....... It Was true, Now i have only met Robert once but he was a very cool guy and i asked him a million questions lol, He's still very into music as is his son who play's guitar & keyboard!, I Feel lucky to be friend with someone who's dad worked with one of THE legends of music(:

  • Sounds like a very interesting and talented guy. Glad to learn about him - I got the link here on the Yahoo! Horn list where Bob Ward was asking about him.

  • So talented. What a vocal range and great musician too!

  • I loved Bobby when he was with FZ.

Also, it's refreshing to see some some intelligent and respectful conversation on this site.

  • In response to your last: I was not aware of his health & fitness achievements. Additionally, I had no idea this pic was posted on his own web site. I apologize if I offended. You have approx. 90 minutes of interview with a living legend. To that, I thank you! Good job, sir.

  • No problem.

  • Okay Mr. "YourArf" I am compelled to tell ya something. It is that you should show Robert Martin at the keys, on the sax, on the french horn, or singing to the roof as he's known to be at his best. What's with your picture of this great musician being shirtless? I dont like your angle. Dude..this entire interview involves music. Post pictures of Bobby doing what he's a master at. I dont care what he looks like without a shirt. -C'mon friend, it's a great music interview. Commerate it as such.

  • I wanted pictures of what these musicians looks like today. And Bobby works as some kind of health advisor, or whatever you want to call it. This picture is from his website.

  • @JamminClemmons I absolutely agree!. I realize he was drafted by the Dodgers, and if he had gone that direction, the Planet of the Baritone Women wouldn't be the same.

  • I saw Bobby in '88 with FZ and his cadenza ending "Whipping Post" was his moment to shine vocally and hearing that live blew me and the rest of the audience right out of our shoes and froze us in our seats!

  • Bobby rules!!

  • he's greatttttttttt!!!!!!!!!

  • Bobby is awesome.

  • Bobby's vocals on 'Whipping Post' are the best ever live vocals I have heard from Frank's band - even tho he locates himself more as multi-instrumental keyboard player - the key as he says is 'My parents were opera singers' - good genetics, Bobby!!!

  • I´ve read that bobby hit a C6 in a live concert with zappa, is that true? it was supposed to be on the San Berdino track from a HBO concert. Bobby does a 3 octave scale (Ab2-Ab5) in a live version of planet of the baritone women here on youtube.
