How would I find out how many polygons my model is? And what sort of polygon count am I looking for a gun model to be if I wanted to use it in a game.
@CalvinBGood OK go to display, then to heads up display and then select polygon count. As I said before I do not know properly but I read somewhere UDK holds 5-10k triangles for a gun (FPS) and I will be doing UDK tutorials soon and it is free and really good and fun to use.
Aha cool, this is really helping me and hopefully I should have something pretty cool looking at the end, but will this tutorial help us UV map the Ak47 and rig it?
@CalvinBGood Yes you will but this AK47 when adding detail (or smoothed) will not be able to go into a game because its high poly. But yes the UV map will be basic for this tutorial but will be OK for now. Rigging will be basic as well, unfortunately I am only a beginner or even a 'noob' at UV mapping and rigging, I will try my best. thanks for comment :).
@AKU6 OHHH!! yes good idea!! Crazy enough I've been doing bevels on my scorpion (low poly for a game) but because this is high poly I think that's why i did the edge loop, but thanks mate I will keep that in mind ;) :).

@FastTess Bevel the edges go to Edit mesh> bevel or find bevel on our modeling shelf :).

hey Aaron, instead of insert edge loop tool at 6:58, select the edges and add a bevel (in the edit mesh menu)
