Love the model and the animation! I love Cal Poly football and will continue to buy season tickets regardless of the conference or division they're in. If you have any friends that hesitate due to ticket availability, tell them to BUY ONLINE so they know they can get in. Yes, we can easily attract 15,000 and more. A move to FBS alone would bring the added bodies.
Very cool. Any word on stadium expansion as of late, I know Cal Poly just joined the Big Sky which is one of the better FCS Divisions, was wondering if the were trying to push to go all the way to FBS
i saw post on the tribune blog about this. apparently the fresno coach said poly should be in the wac and will be eventually. the blog talked about the feasability about this. first of all sac st would also be a contender, they are already in the wac for baseball, the problem for cal poly, is the the big west is better for most other sports. big west has better baseball and soccer. cp would be best of a football only in the wac. ncaa rules say 15000 avg attendance is required to join the fbs
@lukedurk We could easily get 15,000 if they would complete the east side.. it's more exciting with a larger venue, and I know a lot of people who don't want to come into town because they're afraid it will be sold out. It wasn't this year, but on most years it is.. guess it's just a finding the funding kind of thing.
If Nevada, Boise State and Fresno st, transfered from the WAC to the Mountain west conf, that would leave the WAC with 6 schools, they would need at least 2 new football schools, who could they get, Montana? good at football but the wac has other sports, UC davis, maybe. NDSU, SDSU? The only FCS school in the west that has a quailty sports program in football as well as other sports, baseball, wresteling, soccer, vollyball, is CAL POLY! and have we not seen more money spent on promoting sport
I heard a rumor that last year the Mountain West wanted to get Boise St, Nevade and Fresno St to leave the WAC to join the MWC, so the MWC could have a stronger case to be a BCS team. The would have #3 TCU, #6 Boise, #15 BYU, #23 Utah, and nevada and fresno have flirted with the ranking in recent years, plu utah and byu dominated pac 10 teams in bowl this year. THE POINT IS this leaves teh WAC would 6 teams and they would need at least 2 new teams. and those teams would have to have football
ive noticed over the pass year that have been large strides forward in promoting cal poly athletics with things such as fanfest, ive heard that there are scheduling conflicts with the fcs, if the donors were there is there anyway this could happen within a decade? I believe a stronger sports program would be a great recruiting tool, and the most work would need to go into football in order to accomplish that being that cal poly probably wont be a basketball school like georgetown or villanova
Hey thanks.. it would just take a few donors - the design is a great value for stadium, as the steel columns and vertical nature of design would give the stadium a look even bigger than it actually is. The view from the the private boxes on up to the top would be 1 in a million, with palm trees, volcanoes and parts of SLO visible.
The 2 rows, or 1 row of private boxes would be a perpetual revenue generator, and add to long-term support for Cal Poly Football.

@lukedurk
If I'm not mistaken, Nevada finished the season with a #19 ranking.

Villanova amazingly has half the student population that Poly does- yet they manage to be such a powerhouse.. interesting.

they are also in philly and are a big name basketball school, so they have more possible attendence then a small town like slo
