The scariest part is that there is no way to prove Fallout as impossible, a resource-war, nuclear holocaust, and mutants are all possible. Probably my biggest problem with new Vegas, its that in FO3 you get a beautiful gray city remains where the biggest functioning cities are megaton and rivet city both of which are filled with desperate people relying on the brotherhood of steel that can barely help, fighting against a fascist organization, and that gives the game a really melancholy feeling.
In new Vegas, they rebuild society, there is new Vegas which is full of lights and drunk people, it just takes that feeling away.
@icecremer new vegas is the loyal with the fallout universe series, along with f1 and 2; Society is already rebuild in fo universe, not as before the war, but it is... FO3 is not quite correct about the universe of FO, but still is a great game, like any other in the serie.
@SladeForelly You maybe correct, but like many of the new fallout players, I started my fallout adventure from fallout 3, not fallout 1, so my initial impression of this game world came from fallout 3, and it gave a fantastic feeling to me, it was lonely and melancholy, a feeling other games can rarely give.
Also, the plot was fantastic in fallout 3, fighting a fascistic organization for dominance over the capital wasteland felt just epic.
It wasn't epic. It wasn't overblown, with lots of action. It was just a slow pan-out starting with a bus's barely-working radio, showing the destroyed bus itself, then a damaged street, before the ruins of buildings, finally the skeletal remains of the Washington Monument, ending with a glimpse of a Brotherhood of Steel paladin surveying the cityscape, before looking at the viewer, before the screen goes black. To this song. Simple, effective, and that alone had me sold on the game.

Fallout 3 is absolutely, without question, the best game ever. Just the feeling of when you first walk out of the Vault after being there 19 years, and the sun momentarily blinds you, is amazing. Exploring the wastes, meeting survivors, hanging out at crudely build civilizations, theres nothing like it. Fallout will always be the best game ever.

I feel like a n00b. I beat the game in four days. I couldn't jeep my greasy fingers from killing and looting. And thumbs up if you've ever had to do a mission thats a BITCH without being able to heal. I had to do that from When you start out in Raven Rock (The Enclave HQ) Al the way to the end of the game. with 5 bars of health. Damn, Thank GOD for Fawkes.
