I lived in California and there is hasn't been a 9.0 earthquake in the Los Angeles area or anywhere in the state. 8.0 and 9.0 earthquakes are rare and it is impossible to predict them. They can just happen all the sudden without warning.
i would agree john its true that its hard to predict earthquake and the guy's a douche, it is possible to make a semi accurate prediction from small tremors building up to large earthquake, as small earthquakes can be an indicator a large one will come.im not saying its 100% accurate but its a start at prediction, im not saying you can predict whats going to happen tomorrow but you get ideas from that,but i agree the guy was totally wrong in taking advantage of people.

The man received attention from the media, and greatly insulted experts and all those who respected and valued education, including myself. He claimed to be doing a good deed; I personally did not appreciate him misinforming the public with his "moon-shot straight through the centre of the earth and targeting NZ" claim. Simply degrading and embarrassing to science.

As a Californian, the only site I go to for Earthquake stuff is the official USGS website that updates after each and every earthquake, even the 1.0s. I had never even heard of this Luke, guy. That site is run by professional geologists.

May be offtopic, but I was in Santiago, Chile, when the Feb. 27 earthquake hit Chile, and it was HORRIBLE. And no, you can not predict earthquakes. If it is possible, when everybody knows it is already too late. You can only predict the consequences, and that can happen like 1 minute before those happen.

Hahah - Did this guy predict the Canterbury Quake? We got a 7.0 on october 10. And it felt like the house was going to collapse. Power went out everywhere and I thought maybe many houses collapsed that night. I believe an 8 could bring down many many brick buildings.

QP claims that earth quakes create signals exactly 9 and 16 days before an earthquake, and shows a fake graph that does not even have labels (that even claims to have a signal drop in the negative)

May be offtopic, but I was in Santiago, Chile, when the Feb. 27 earthquake hit Chile, and it was HORRIBLE. And no, you can not predict earthquakes. If it is possible, when everybody knows it is already too late. You can only predict the consequences, and that can happen like 1 minute before those happen.

if u live in california, then u kind of have to get used to earthquakes......the people in 1906 were mostly people who hadn't lived in california for a long time, and they didn't know how to build houses right

I never comment on videos, in fact, this is my first. I felt it was appropriate to do so because I absolutely loved this video. I recently moved to CA from the midwest & have followed QP on Twitter because the thought of earthquakes is rather unsettling. As a result, I have become increasingly anxious about them, esp the one he is predicting for the 30th. I know it may be silly, but I needed to see a video like yours to realize how much trust I put in someone I didn't know, like Luke Thomas. TY!
