It's not selfish on our part though, Because personally I'm tired of ordering all my damn gear and having to drive across the state to play 2 hours. What wouldn't be selfish is if someone like this man would build fields across the country in places where kids have absolutely NO place to play, but love and enjoy the sport. Instead of asking for EVERYBODY's money, why not go encourage them to get a field built in their area, and get donations from residents in their area?

Listen guys we all need to donate something to this cause, even if you can't use the field isn't it worth giving just a little bit so someone that wants to build a field so people that don't get the chance to play as much as the would like to, the chance to do that. He has the chance to do that, I may just be 16 , but when I graduate im going to college then i want to open up a store and build a field like this one and getting this built could help me get closer to doing that.

You know what I think would be a really good idea? Sapose I donate 10 or 15 dollars n give my info to SFAA once this field is built I would be able to get half off or maybe even a free open day event, or maybe even if I donate 25-50 dollars I would get more like a t shirt or a free bag of BBs. Not for us to expand to other states, of course I wouldnt suck if we became national somehow, but having other communities doing something similar could possibly work. Our situation is definitely a special one, and perhaps other parks depts will help fund the fields and all that players would have to do is pay for a membership and thats it.

@crazyNCman @5:14 to @6:13 I APPLAUD YOU FOR THAT! IT IS SO TRUE. I live in Ohio and their are many many many abandon buildings and factories in Cleveland Ohio that is a very good idea. I use to live in south Florida and their was no airsoft fields around at all. Now that I live in Ohio their a CQB field opening this November its 30,000 square feet of space. Its going to to be awesome Expect my donation sometime next week!
Sorry crazyNCman, I just saw it's a non-profit organization. I think to get people really motivated, if you donate $10 or more, they should give you a pass to go play there for a day. Think about it, airsoft has such a great community and if one person sees this they probly have 10 other friends who airsoft. @cpxftwairsoft So how do you plan that we pay for insurance every year? Or pay for the upkeep or the monthly port-a-potty fees? Not too mention trash pick up fees we have to pay as well. Non profit means that the people who run the organization do not make any money and its goes into making YOUR community better. Having the only legit field in S. Florida is definitely something people can talk about.

@TheeOriginalPiXeL We are not allowed to collect money at the field, however players will have to pay membership fees in order to play. The price is not announced yet, but you can be a member for three months, 6 months or a year. Those fees go towards insurance and upkeep of the field. Also remember, that once you are a valid member, you just show your ID Card and enjoy the day!
I personally know Dan, and I can say with out a doubt he has busted his ass for year or so to get this feild running. Glad to see CrazyNCman helping out. I hope this is the final push to get this feild up and running! Dan Wish you luck. I'll throw some more money you way soon! -Bracken.

This is a great way to help provide a safer community no matter where a field is located. This field will be the one to set the tone for others to follow. Well, that is the plan.

@turtlefreak89 I was a skateboarder for 20 years. Started back in the late 80s. A time when the sport was taboo. Look at it now. This is where my inspiration for this came from. I was able to use skateboarding in the argument and somehow it helped win them over. It all boils down to safety when you think a about it. A safe community makes for an enjoyable community.

This really is a great thing thats happening. This past summer myself along with some friends pushed to get some land approved to play airsoft on here in Fort Walton Beach, FL. We finally got it approved last month to play on a limited basis. It wasn't the most desirable outcome, but we accepted it with open arms. I'm glad to see that other places are more generous with their land. I hope to see more of this in the future to help this sport expand.
Just a heads up, creating a paypal account for the donatations might be a good idea, because a lot of people, like me, don't use facebook. And frankly giving money through facebook just seems much less secure than paypal. In addition, most experienced players probably have a paypal to use for buying gear and such.
@sgtuglyman You can donate through paypal, to info@sf-aa.org. That fundrazr application is the only way we are able to keep an easy track of donations and help show the community at the same time. All the funds from the application go directly into our paypal account.

We have a abandoned drive in theatre that we usually play at but there is a person who does not own the property but lives next to it and allways calls the police on us. Sounds really cool. I'm from New Zealand but I might be doing an exchange working for Disney World Florida for 12 months next year. I didn't know anything about the Florida airsoft scene, only the South Cali scene. I hope this gets done during that time so I can come play :)

@turtlefreak89 I was a skateboarder for 20 years. Started back in the late 80s. A time when the sport was taboo. Look at it now. This is where my inspiration for this came from. I was able to use skateboarding in the argument and somehow it helped win them over. It all boils down to safety when you think a about it. A safe community makes for an enjoyable community.

This really is a great thing thats happening. This past summer myself along with some friends pushed to get some land approved to play airsoft on here in Fort Walton Beach, FL. We finally got it approved last month to play on a limited basis. It wasn't the most desirable outcome, but we accepted it with open arms. I'm glad to see that other places are more generous with their land. I hope to see more of this in the future to help this sport expand.

Just a heads up, creating a paypal account for the donatations might be a good idea, because a lot of people, like me, don't use facebook. And frankly giving money through facebook just seems much less secure than paypal. In addition, most experienced players probably have a paypal to use for buying gear and such.

How would people do this for other areas? We have a abandoned drive in theatre that we usually play at but there is a person who does not own the property but lives next to it and allways calls the police on us. We would love to be legally allowed to play there without her screaming at us. Please give us direction how.
