Well I'm glad you asked, Chris. Let's start with the assumption that you want to enjoy the view while you reflect on your next book or article (yes you're an author now). So I'd go with the desk against half the window, flushed to corner so you can have part unexposed. THen pictures on wall (well spaced). You need a cheap recliner. And a bunch of plants would make it feel less like an empty dorm room. Bookshelf on left wall.
You need a rug to tie the room together ;)
