  • Gladiator is one of the best soundtracks ever composed!! I love it.

  • God that voice gives me chills.

  • For all people who had dream they could fly ... Listen to that song and fly . <3

    ( sorry , my english sux . )

  • me encanta

  • @GRSDOLCE mucho!

  • Is this is in C flat minor?

  • I will make maxemus kill that disliker in arena

  • still a great song...

  • Im just wondering why people on youtube don't research the song they post. Its Hans Zimmer, the woman singing in "now we are free" is Lisa Gerrard, Not Enya and she also composed some of the tracks.

  • Lisa Gerrard has written with Klaus Badelt the tracks "Sorrow", "The emperor is dead" and "Elysium", whereas "Now we are free" as written by Hans Zimmer + Lisa + Klaus..

  • This was the music i heard as the twin towers came down! Have been searching for it ever since. Powerful stuff!!! I think of all the innocent people who died when I hear this.

  • The *** one who dislike this is stupidly stupid

  • Can anyone tell me, which genre this song is??

    Is this Ambient Music??

  • @MrPhilthevoice Ambient, world music. Search bands like Dead can dance, Azam Ali, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Djivan Gasparyan and so on.

  • this song have a huge fault. it's to short. :( remind me a video on youtube called: rachel brice tribal fusion bellydance. one moves me by sound the other by movement but they both are just to short.

  • Personally, this is one of the better songs ive heard in a long time (I listen to a LOT of music, trust me..my itunes library is huge)

  • The best soundtrack by Hans Zimmer, considering that all are wonderful, but this seems that it took everything, with help from Lisa Gerrard, Klaus Badelt and Djivan Gasparyan, each in its measure. Not because you have not returned to give an Oscar for "Inception " for example this year.

  • i jizzed out me ears when first heard this and the wheat

  • ahhhhh this song..*snif*..*snif* :'( makes me *snif*

  • OHH GOD...SHE HAS THE MOST MOVING VOICE ..MY entire soul FKIN TREMBLES

  • This is so beautiful. But what would you classify this as? I've been searching for music that sounds similar to this but I can't find anything..

  • @chinook654 I think that's stretching it, but they are great!!

  • Not a single dislike. This, is the music of the Gods.

  • Why cant this song be longer!!!???

  • @mabiniss2 because even sorrow has a limit

  • Lisa gerrard and hans zimmer are the 21st centuary beethoven and mozart.

  • I Love the Sound track, it is superb

  • Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt, and Lisa Gerrard will forever be my 3 favorite composers. My idols in soundtracks<3 So beautiful.

  • The sorrow Maximus felt is hauntingly captured in this song...wow...what a voice!

  • Hmm.... Every comment the uploader has responded on has a username that starts with W. Even the uploader

  • My number two composers is on the first place Hans Zimmer and the second place is for Jesper Kyd...

you should just listen to the music and soundtrack of Assassin's Creed II...

Really amazing! Soundtrack Earth and Soundtrack Ezio's Family, they look like the same, but still are so different... just amazing...

  • This song inspired Armin Van Buuren for a remix

  • Funny how all the historic/sword & sandal films that came out after this (throughout the 2000s) had a soundtrack where a woman wails. Anyone noticed this?

  • This sound is so beautiful, i love the scene where Russel Crowe sees his family in the wheat field, it seems so peaceful and relaxed. It's a wonderfful vision of heaven with enjoyin' colors

  • You gotta love russel crowe, but you gotta love the music even more.

  • One of the most haunting pieces of music ever composed

  • Esz kier trez gnut koie tyzer grissz slocze esc friser tooz lez !

  • it makes me shiver..

  • Whose the girl who does the singing?

  • Lisa Gerrard

  • This song is the BEST SAD SONG in the WORLD...makes me wanna cry bad

  • it is by Hans Zimmer

  • This is the ultimate dirge; profoundly mournful and extremely beautiful. I can still see this scene in the movie when Maximus discovers the bodies of his wife and son murdered by Commodus' troops. Incredibly sad.

  • this track it's too sinister :|

  • love this piece of music :)

  • the most saddest song on earth! i love it, n it makes me wanna cry wen i listen to it..

  • I will only have two music idols in my lifetime, and one of them is David Gilmour, and the other is Hans Zimmer, musical geniuses are not, Dizzy Rascal, Britney Spears, or any other apparent Celebrity nowadays. Even though they are talented people. A musical genius is a person who composes a work of art that captures every essence of the word: human emotion, and Hans Zimmer does that for me, as does: Lisa Gerrard.

  • nice comment :) but one mistake, dizzie rascal and britney spears are not talented :) ok... just letting you know...

  • @TigerEyeJewel Words of truth mate.

  • @TigerEyeJewel Totally agree with you! Hans Zimmer is one of the best composers who can truly touch human emotion with his music. BT (Brian Transeau) is amazing at that as well, check out his album "This Binary Universe"

  • @TigerEyeJewel what about beethoven? :O

  • What a beautiful, yet daunting and sad song.

  • That scene when he finds his wife and son executed is so sad

  • Its unbeliavable to think that took humanity 2000 years to surpass that savage, bloodthursty primitive way of life and only by focusing into science and progress could we evolve into higher perspective.

  • it's not unbelievable, since it hasn't yet happened :( the situation is the same, only the methods has changed...

  • @NEMESIS1999 that way of life hasnt gone away in most places of the world

great track hans really knows how to draw u in his own perspective of emotion

  • I don't think we've evolved past bloodthirstiness at all.

  • @evergray I totally agree. I don't think we ever will.

  • If ever I feel like a stone I watch this scene and I start pouring.

  • Did you know that every time Hollywood makes a movie and someone dies in it or a sad thing happens in it they will put the Armenian Duduk for it! and if you want i can almost name all the Hollywood movies that have that song in it!

  • I love the Armenian instrument! (Duduk)

That's what makes the music sad!

  • Yeah, Duduk is awesome ... I'm armenian and listening to that instrument always makes me sad ...

  • hans zimmerman

  • Greate song!

  • Yes this is by Hans Zimmer,Klaus Badelt didn't write any song for Gladiator movie, but nevermind it's great song.

  • Actually, he did. He helped Lisa Gerrard with most of her songs. He just didn't get credited in the movie. Neither did Djivan Gasparyan, I think.

  • Maybe you are right, but most famous Gladiator song's composers are Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard.Klaus Badelt is rarely mentioned.

  • In the booklet that came with my soundtrack it says that Klaus Badelt helped Lisa Gerrard with most of her songs (except "The Wheat"), and its the same way when I put it on my computer.

  • @WiltheLiam768 klaus badet is a protégé of Hans, so it really could be possible.

  • @WlakyKing ladd mcintosh made this

  • Such an incredibly moving song.

It's a Hans Zimmer piece, though, not Klaus Badelt. Klaus did Pirates of the Caribbean :-)

  • Hans did Pirates 2 and 3. Klaus only did no. 1.

  • @WiltheLiam768 yes and he did all the music for the 2nd but they were unhappy with it and got hans zimmer! *smiles*

  • beautiful.

reminds me of my first love.

  • mit Zeit meinte ich ehr zur Zeit im alten Rom

  • also ich möchte da nicht gelebt haben.....

  • wunderschöner Film, da möchte man doch in diese Zeit zurückversetzt sein

  • Klaus?? as far as i know he is Hans Zimmer.. Djivan,, and Lisa..

  • Klaus Badelt also helped out with most of Lisa Gerrard's songs, but it was mostly Hans and Lisa.

  • This is Djivan Gasparian the armenian playing the Duduk, as for the singer she is lisa gerard.

  • This song is so sad and very good.

  • Hey I was looking for this Armenian song and thank you so much for putting this song up this is the best heartbreaking songs that I have ever herd and i thank to the Armenian person that came up with this song hehe
