hey. randomnly found this vid when looking for pits warming up......quick tip.....use the up stroke instead of trying to kill the poor marimba. there is a thing called tone which goes out the window when you just start smacking the bars as hard as humanly possible.

Heh, I didn't know Kyle could play the marimba too:) One of my best concert memories is when two japanese ladies came to my music school, and they played piano-marimba duetts... It was beautiful, the best combination ever!

@kylelandry woah, i just realized this was you kyle! haha, you're absolutely right, it's really easy to learn a keyboard instrument if you play piano. im a pianist too, and i play in my school's pit:) one thing that took me forever to get down and work on was the technique. i am far from where you are in piano and you're improv skills are definitely like 1000x better than mine but one thing i must critic you on is your technique:( don't try to kill the instrument... lol no hard feelings
