  • I do it similar to the first way. I taught my puppy, Bentley, 'leave it' by putting a treat in front of it then taking it away when he grabs for it and saying "Leave it!" Now when he bites, I say leave it and when he stops I give him a toy and say good boy. His biting has decreased A LOT and its only been 2 days

  • @PoisonRoze1991 I feel you should try the pennies in a can method because it will give him a slight fright and know you are not playing and its bettr then the waer bottle method beacause the water can go in the earand nose and be unwanted by him it worked for my diog and she is 2 months

  • @ PoisonRoze1991 You can also use a can and fill it up with pennies and shake it to give them a fright because if you use the water bottle method the wather can go in their ears ornose an hurt them

  • My new Great Dane puppy is 11 months old and I've only had him for a few days[close to 72 hours] now, but he's having some issues with mouthing. When I push him away and yelp and such he only thinks I'm just playing along with him and he gets more insistent.

He's also collar shy. When I reach for his collar to take it off he starts to shrink away and he starts mouthing my arms and hands.

    I need help. Like... yesterday.

  • My month old Maremma, Eidos, needs a different system. He just thinks I'm playing when I push him away and yelp, and since he's going to be about 115 lbs, I need to solve this problem quickly. Advice please?

  • i think this lady is lesbian!

  • 1. I have a dozen chew toys for my puppy. She won't take them. I give it to her, she rejects it and chews on me. I push her away, she sees it as a challenge and comes back harder. 2. If I get up and walk away she follows me, nipping my legs on the way. Cose the door, she chews the door. Leave a toy, she plays with that as well as anything else in the room. 3. If you make "ahah" sounds, or say "no" she barks and runs about like it's a game. In short. None of what you have told me works on my dog.

  • @the81stviewer Read John Fisher he is excellent and talks all about dogs and their behaviour ... stones in a can is a good one, everytime your pups goes to bite or mouth you shake the can and say NO.

When you feed your pup pretend to eat some of her food first and then make her sit before you give it to her this asserts your dominence over her, never let her push through the door John fisher explains all these things in his book and why it works, he has a couple of books really will help you !

  • I have owned 5 dogs and I found this didn't work, when you push away I think it makes the dog think you're playing and comes and bites even harder. I asked my vet and he advised me to use a spray bottle with water and every time a puppy bites, spray them in the face a few cm away and this has always worked for us.

  • wont the dog then think if i bite u i get a toy?

  • i have 7 months old puppy that love playbiting with my boyfriend like crazy. how do i stop playbiting? because I don't want him to do that to anyone or anymore, I already taught him in ASL to sit, down, stay, come, hush (for when too hyper). (i am deaf) so i depend on body language more than sounds. what type body language without sounds will be great to teach my puppy to stop playbite permantly over time with training? thanks!

  • did not work with my yellow lab!!! i need help:(

  • @Ilovemodelhorses When he bites u just touch him with ur knee on his chest(DONT kick). If that doesnt work with him dont start moving ur hands around him crazily in order to avoid bites cuz this causes more.Try saying NO loudly and poke him strongly near his neck, with 3 of ur fingers, dont move and wait till he relaxes. If he insists touch him strongly near his neck again and stand still,if the touch stops him for a few secs only then say NO again, poke him and move to his side being serious.

  • @MagmaSedusa ok my freinds mom told me to put 25 pennies in a coffie can or bottle then when ever he bites or jumps you shake it becuase dogs dont like that sound and it worked he is much nicer and calmer but he jumps on new pelple that come is the door but then calms down

  • i have a lab he is a male and he bites my mom all the time and i know labs are very hyper my moms cousin told her that as the dog gets older it will stop biting is it true?

  • if you give the dog a bone it will be like a treat..... so he/she will think its good to bite.............. that not good.

  • So when my puppy is biting me be I give him a bone ...

come on people use your commonsense if the dogs play biting you and you don't like it push him off and say no after a few times the dog will understand that you don't like that

  • @WolfGirl002 problem is I don't depend on sounds, i am deaf, i depend on body language & sign. so I will need different method, especially with ASL, body language.

  • @laurielatorre that's where the pushing off comes in and look at him sternly to reinforce that you don't like that. ASL?

  • wait so puppy mouthing will stop automatically if i wait till he grows to an adult dog?

  • @tak351 it will but if u just let him bite u he will think its a normal thing and when he want to play with u he bite u

  • That's a puppy??? How big is it gonna be when it's an adult. holy shit!

  • no u dont if the mouth u do like a squel o tell them noot to do it DUH :( tuts tuts tuts

and how come its soo dark in there :0

  • we hav tried that he just doesnt take the toy and we hav tried walkin away and ignorin him but he bites our feet and legs

  • I just learned two lessons.

    1) If the dog bites you, reward it with a bone.

    2) If that doesn't work, ignore it and hope it gets better with age.

  • this is bad advice. all your doing is rewarding the dog with a treat.

  • Great video! my dog always likes to ram into me and bite me everytime I get home from school! i'll try this videos method

  • my dog is 8 weeks old, and he doesnt listen! i have tried screamin like a puppy, and he doesnt care. i have tried giving him a toy and he doesnt stop biting me, what more can i do!? i have tried some more things to that i found on youtube. he doesnt seem to listen at all, he is an nova scotia duck tolling retriever, if it´s anyone out there that have some ideas please share them with me!

  • My boxer has been doing this for about a month now I've tried giving it a bone in place of my arm but it just doesn't get it... extremely annoyed right now and I don't think I can deal with it any longer... >:(

  • @hostel969 hang in there buddy. we're experiencing the same thing. my damn 9 week old husky never licks. he bites and nibbles. hell... when i picked him up he bit my chin

  • you really shouldn't have worn anything black. I can't see your "puppy"

  • my 2 month kangal keeps doing this, i dont live with him because i live in a apartment but when i go to take him for a walk and play with him he starts off fine and happy but then when he gets excited thats when he starts trying to bite, 2day he actually punctured my skin a tiny bit. ima try this method i hope it works because when he gets older hes definatly gonna try taking off my fingers loool

  • i have a stressed nature, and im having problems with my puppy. he does mouth but i tell him to stop and instead he gets nasty ive had my skin punctured from him too. im going to try this method from now on rather than getting myself too stressed out

  • my yorkie puppy, 2 months old, are still biting. but he improved alot. is it ok gently tap head with one finger, not too hard then sign in ASL, "no" then sign in ASL "chew yes" when i hand him toy or bone to chew? because I am deaf. I don't really use voice. So that is kind challenge for me.

  • Our puppy loves bitting our feet, I'll say NO or EH! and give him a toy to "redirect" but sometimes when I walk away he'll run to me and start bitting again, he also like bitting the cables, like the tv, computer etc cables...what can I do?

    he's 8 weeks old.

    Thanks so much!

  • WOW, CANT SEE ANYTHING..... WHERE WAS THE DOG????

  • @Verown LOL

  • I do not think I have ever seen great advice from one of these "expert" or "How-to" channels. The first technique she suggests will teach the dog that mouthing a hand earns a nice chew toy. She is also conditioning the dog to associate "Eh eh" with a reward. That can be good (search for "dog positive interrupter"), but it has to be done right.

  • I didm't even notice the dog.

  • This did not help me at all, nd i could see shit!

  • i just put hotsauce on my fingers dogs hate the taste of hotsauce

  • @ieatwithjesus does it work?

  • @ieatwithjesus thanks for the idea, ill go try that! :P

  • look nobody want to say it but i will, the best way to stop your puppy from biting is to beat the shit out of it.....nuff said..

  • my boxer puppy is very aggressive sometimes and thinks of me as a 'puppy' too! when I say NO, it just does it more. but when she is calm, she's ok and friendly. plz help

  • maybe wear a white shirt so i can see puppy =p

  • I gave my puppy a "puppy bone" so it could stop biting, but now he's barely paying attention to it. He's starting to bite me again! What do I do??

  • some how when i tell her Ah Ah she stops but wont grab the toy

  • I have a 9 week old Border collie puppy, and he likes to bite, but not aggressively. I've seen other dogs like to bite like mine as well, but their owners just let them bite their hands. Is that normal?

  • @ILive4JacobBlack

Yeah Im do it at the momnet with my Puppy Im trying to get him to take his bite pressure down so that when he is an adult and if he gets scared by anything then he will not bite hard but just a gentale warning gumming. You just allow them to bite your hands until it hurts then yell and withdraw and ignore for five secondsThen start the game agin but decrease your level of tolanrance every time.

  • I have a out of control ''puppy'' I tried to calm him holding him gently all the time but he only transform into a ''devil puppy'' and run in circle around me like the guy some comments down

i tried that for one month and now he have 3 months

I don`t have expierence training but my main problem that he is a GREAT DANE and he is already very big I tried to stop playing with him but he throw me down to the floor

hope that giving him something to chew will make him understand

  • My 8 week year old golden retriever puppy is out of control. All she wants to do is bite people. As soon as you come near her she bites your shoes or pants and won't let go as you drag her around. She growls too. And when I take her outside for house training she's too busy attacking me to go to do anything else. And I tried giving her chew toys to direct her away from biting me but she just ignores the toys and goes right back to biting me. It's driving me nuts.

  • I adopted a 8 week old husky last week and i had the same problem, here are some things you can do to prevent it.. from my little experience with him. Dont look at him eye to eye, put your attention towards something else.. and if he does bite.. make a loud noise like "AHHHHHHH" so that he knows that it hurts when he bites you.. i did this with my puppy and now he has stopped bitting.. oh and dont forget to reward him with treats every-time he stops the bite.. just have patience he will learn :)

  • Dats 1 big puppy

  • u havent got aclue

  • thats not a nice idea i guess,,

  • not a good idea if you have a smart breed. examples poodles, labs, german shepherds. they will think that by biting or nipping you they get a chewy in return. think about it lady.

  • i have a rottie,he just love's to play and bite, not to mention growl and run all over the place,

i hold him on his neck on the back when he bites too hard cause thats the only place he cant bite my hand and he DEFINETLY DOES NOT LIKE THAT!!!!!!

he changes from a sweet innocent puppy into a devil dog,he is 2 months

the idea she gave is well worked, truly

  • Expert village is so gayyy u lot are noobs

  • When the puppy is biting your hand a firm no and a slap on the back of your other hand should work, the puppy should get the message

  • well that is a HUGE puppy

  • Tried this for days with an american bulldog pup and it is not working. I tried the hold muzzle and slap hand method it seemed to work a little better.

  • This really is the best way to make them stop. Just don't let them think getting a chew toy is a reward for biting you in the first place. push them back then give them the toy. Shock collars and bullcrap like that should really be avoided at any cost. There is really no need for them. If you can't put in the tiny bit of extra effort it takes to train your dog using positive reinforcement (look it up) you probably shouldn't have a dog at all.

  • @ronnysoeberg Pushing with your hands (fore-paws) can send the wrong signal - play rather than punishment. (Not that you want to use punishment anyway.) Dogs and puppies "box" with each other in play. You want to extinguish the positive stimulus (your play) when the dog mouths you too strongly. Get up and leave the pup, by first casually moving FORWARD into its space with your LEGS. Don't turn away immediately. That can look like your are initiating a game of chase. Leave and ignore the puppy.

  • I used a shock- and ultrasound collar to teach my dog.

    Works wonder...

  • I hope you're joking...

  • No, I'm not. Why do you think those things are being produced and sold? Because they are effective.

  • Im not a hippee peace lover or whatever but that shit is inhumain.

  • Dogs aren't humans...so Inhuman doesn't apply.

  • whatever.

  • Before y'all keep bitching, moaning and whining how shock-collars are INHUMAN blah blub. Y'all need to learn that dogs, of different sizes and in general have a way higher pain threshold than punny human beings.

  • u make it sound like ur not human.....

  • we had to stop using mine on our shepard even at the highest point it never really phased him i quess it was the thick neck

  • do dogs lose there teeth like humans?

  • yep

  • @Laura12378 yes, they do

  • @Laura12378 Yes, in 5-6 months

  • @Laura12378 yes

  • @Laura12378 yes they do

  • @Laura12378 yea it's freaky

  • @Laura12378 their not there

  • @TheWinningGambler This is Youtube, not an English lesson, fag. ;)

  • @Laura12378 yes dogs lose their teeth once they start reaching about five months my dog is a bichon frise and he bites and he losta tooth and he stopped biting 4 a while

  • @Laura12378 yes

  • @Laura12378 yes

  • yes

  • yes they do

  • im justing a spray bottle my pup stops in her tracks when seeing it just a little mist of water

  • I did that too...except my pup likes it and thinks it's a game : ( LOL I guess I'll have to find another deterrent then

  • i put my puppy in a dog time out in the kitchen since a bottle with coins doesnt work.

  • yea i tried the coin thing to and my dog doesnt take it seriously annd thinks its a toy lmao

  • That's just confusing for the dog. They can chew a bone but not an arm. How confusing for a dog is that? And plus that is just like praising them for biting you by giving them a toy... :S

  • my dog bites my hand like its a piece of meat too. It is making me literally bleed. I need help. haha:)

  • k i dont have a dog but if u always give something to the dog to chew on "after they bited on you" wont they always come to bite on you "first" then wait for you to give the chew toy to it?

  • no, they're smart enough to just go for the chew toy

  • THANXS

  • can i say NO! ANGEL! NO! ANGEL!, tap her nose, and gently grab her mouth when she bite me? I NEED HELP! I CAN"T DO IT MY SELF!

  • um no, what will that solve?? that will do absolutely nothing to teach the dog not to bite, at all. that's not shwoing example, that's not using association to make it learn. do yourself a favor, look for a professional dog trainer in your area.

  • i have a friend that she have a dog but i think she that my is only a puppy and i should let it bite me and when she get older teach her. is that a good advise or find someone else

  • You NEED more advise!!!! That is the WORST thing you can do...!!

  • can u help me. my puppy is 4 month and se is goning crazy that i am mad and don' know what to do. i hate biting on her and saying no make her mad and bark at me.

  • Ahh I understand what you mean! Try giving her a tap on her nose. Puppies don't like it. Or just say "no" but in a rather gentle way that wouldn't make her cross, but would make her understand what you are asking of her.

  • i can't do it. i scare that i can do it right. i don't want to do it by myself.

  • Don't be scared! I'm sure that you could ask a friend to help you :)

  • i had one friend that she say i should let my puppy bite me and something i think. and i tr to tap it on a nose, i think it don't work.

  • No you definatley shouldn't let your puppy bite you. It will never learn.

  • that why i can't do it. i don't have some comvestive {if that how u spell it.}

  • Yes that is right make biting associate with pain for your dog. I know it sounds horrible, but it's the quickest way :)

  • is that even a dog or a doll? all i see is black. is it really in your kitchen? gross. and thats not right thats rewarding the biting

  • how rude

  • i wasn't aware you were an expert in dog training

  • well aparently this chick isnt an expert in dog training either!

  • i know that.but i can tell between a dog or a doll that all. i am no expert i am just a beginner. and a caredone too.

  • My puppy keeps biting my arm like it's a piece of meat. Lol.

  • same its fucken annoying

  • fuck man that didnt help at all

my dog fuckn keeps biting my foot

    i give him something

he only plays with it for 10secs

den comes back to bite my foot or my finger

  • same here man. dammit! lol

  • first of all, excuse me for my english. This trick worked with my Ovcharka (Caucasian Shepherd).

1)When it tries to bite, give him/her your hand instead of foot.

2)when it bites the hand, slide it down in its throat to make it gasp for breath, and then remove it to let the dog breathe.

3)this works not only in puppies, but also in older dogs.(but it's better for you to be known by the dog.he he!)

  • i learn stuff off youtube...why do i go to college again?

thanks for the tips im going to go put it to use now if i can just find the little monster :P

  • my dog bites everytime i give give a toy lolz

  • We r lucky they dont bite like they really wont to cause that hurts lol

  • tried that. he bites the toy then bites you. he loves shoes.

  • guess it doesnt work on german dogs my miniature schnauzer wont stop either lol

  • didn't work for my German Shepard

  • didnt work on my yorkie

  • zak george is a much better trainer..

  • Keep trying it works on most puppies. There is no overnight cure.

  • i have a baby chi-poo,poodle-chihuahua and i just wont stop bitting my start to bleed and hes only 5 months old

  • didnt work on my jack russel terrier puppy

  • yeah on my did not work

  • didnt work on my german shepard

  • doesn't really work for my australian kelpie, if i get up she just bites my feet

  • Haha, my puppy does the same thing (Black lab/Siberian Husky).

She hugs my leg and start to bite my toes or my shoe.

  • omg haha same with my german shepherd lmao

  • that did not work on my jack russel terrier

  • she talks too much

  • Yes, we can clearly see your invisible dog mouthing you.

  • seriously

  • Good work using a black dog!

    Can't even see.

  • @SkylineJet oooooh, racist!! so just cause the dogs black you cant see him unless he smiles. shame on you. next you'll be saying he probably cant swim either.

  • @sedod66 lol I hate niggas, I lock my doors when I see one
