Drop C? What other band even HAS a song called severed (besides Kitty)? This is Chimaira, and I highly doubt they've even done a cover of a song in their career. Even if Chimaira did a cover of the Kitty song, I like the Chimaira song. I can understand it better and I like the drumwork a lot more.
A lot of good bands use Drop C tuning on guitars, and although I can't name any offhand there's no problem with using it. What do you mean by 'original?' You still haven't answered that question genius.
