In general the advantage of Cisco hardware is the high and detail configuration level through cisco IOS. An other advantage is that that IOS is the same for routers and switches. The disadvantage is that the prices are too high compared with other products such as 3com. The quality is near the same. These machines are not as strong as one may imagine (processor, memory, modules etc), but since they are target the commercial market, they keep their prices high as well as the servers do.

It would have been educational if he actually mounted a file server onto the rack and plug cables and installed software or hotswapped drives etc. Did not see Juniper switches which use Juno OS.. this is a cisco server room it appears.
