  • THAT SNARE!! AmAzing!

  • WOW! I just love this, what a great sounding band! and that kit - oh man that's the sound I'm looking for. Awesome Billy! - Dave.

  • his groove is more colorful than that shirt. love it.

  • No joke. This shit got me horny o_0

  • This dude is a beast

  • red & yellow cabriolet from the disc warning one of my favorites

  • Is this just a really short part of the set or something? There is no reason he should be sweating at all if not. Great groove regardless.

  • 100's of "master drummers out there and always will be, but, I seem to always come back to Billy Cobham......such passion , emotion...He kills them all.....

  • SimonBak90 - Yes, and the Tama's sound great !

  • i love billy cobham but his toms sound fucked up in this video. mad skill as usual though

  • 5 piece or his normal monster kit, still amazing to watch.

  • GO PANAMENIANNNN WOHO

  • Cracking shirt in the Tom Magnum look ...

  • His technique is so tight!

  • DAMN!!!!

  • Does anyone know the name of this song?

  • Wanna hear a great story about Billy Cobham? There's a video out with several of Frank Zappa's drummers discussing music, Frank and percussion. Ruth Underwood tells the story of when she and Frank heard the Mahavishnu Orchestra for the first time. Frank had to "up his game" after hearing Cobham play and the only way Frank could get close to the power of Cobham was to hire 2 drummers. Awesome!

  • Anyone know who the rest of the band is?

  • TAMA???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mr. Billy Cobham!

  • Born 1944 and still playing great and in good physical shape.

  • Those musicians are not Dream Theater, they just stand there. Great drumming, however. I liked it!

  • Typical Billy: Full speed ahead, maximum power, incredible control, dynamics, etc.

He is not an underrated drummer. Anyone who knows anything about music knows how good he is. He is under-appreciated and under-recognized.

I saw him live at the Bottom Line in NYC in the late '70s, and still recall how incredible that show was.

What he does at 2:24 he does all the time, by the way. Not sure what that's called...

  • Ah, nice, it´s a tune from my favorite Cobham album "Warning" from 1985 afairemember. Red & Yellow Cabriolet, isn´t it? I played it for sure 200 times with my band and brought the audience up with my drum solos that time, a mixture of Cobham, Bellson, Rich, Antolini in it. Good old times... :))

  • Nice video! Thanks for uploading. It's actually the first time I see him playing a Tama Starclassic kit. He is playing Yamaha now...

  • @SimonBak90 You're welcome!

  • hahah fucking nerds rule!

  • 2:24 now that's some perfect stick control!

  • @McYaballow Yeah, It seems he uses just his fingers to control the stick, isn´t it?

  • Mr. Cobham... One of the greats! drum Guru! here it is something that the young musicians overlook and I would like to coment on: Everery thing Mr. Cobham's plays HE GROOVES!!!!!! and he grooves like crazy! I am ucky to be able to listen to his paying and learn from it.

  • OLDER MEANS BETTER.......

  • I know what the original poster meant by "billy is getting older": we wish billy could be around forever! great video and thanks for posting.

  • @supadupamcj You're welcome!

  • simply impossible groove!

  • too good. Billy usta play with Dreams w/ Randy and Michael Brecker, cut an album "The Funky Thide of Sings" Amazing single stroke rolls, ultra tight grooves but with no great ego like so many other drummers may have. Impressive dynamics, too...so hard for some drummers to lay back and fill, back up the band...we know he's the man, but still this band is playing xlnt music, not just a front for his virtuosity. Thanks.

  • We wouldn't expect any less from BC. He's surely paid his dues in this business. Great to see he's still got it.

  • Cheers for this. Who's the lad on the steel drums?

  • Wow, go Bill!!! He can get so much soul out of such a small kit.

  • 02:15-02:17 is so awsome to me...killer for sure!!! They are such great funky musicians.

  • @thegreatbasher I like the blend f the steeel drum with the keyboard also hats off to the sound guys it would be easy to drown out the steel drum with all the electric stuff.

  • hows this idiot gonna say Cobham is crashing to many cymbals. No body cares what you would have done different because you suck and Bill is a Legend so show some respect!

  • no no no :-)??? More crashing of cymbals yehr!

  • Comment removed

  • ohh Billy u r a master of the groove!!

  • your gay, thats my comment. and yeah he does shred

  • NO comments? Billy was sheddin like there was no tomorrow on this

  • @PSlim2112 maybe it's because we all know how godly BC is, this video is self-explanatory :D
