Irish Nazi supporters....the IRA and Irish Republicanism was very supportive of the Nazis. The IRA tried several times to establish Nazi links so that any invasion of Britain would be supported by the IRA as allies of the Nazis. In turn for their loyalty to Hitler, the Nazis would unite Ireland and set up an IRA/Irish Republican government who would allow Nazi soldiers to be based there and take their orders from Berlin.

Totally wrong again mate...the Irish Government sometimes helped the British behind the scenes however officially they were neutral.

The IRA were a large force even after the Irish civil war especially in rural Ireland and border areas. The IRA were not inactive until 1968...have you not heard of the border campaign in the 1950's?

1 of my own family members was involved in that campaign I can assure you they were alive and well in number and weapons !

In 1939 they needed the help of the oppressive regime of Soviet Union and also they forced their client government of Slovakia into their camp to totaly encircle Poland. The proportion was 10:1.

Most of the Austrians wanted to be part of Germany (though I couldn't imagine wy anyone would want to live under the NSDAP), and cheered as the German army came in to Austria. I know it's maybe not the time and place but I just hate seeing that kind of propaganda films creating wrong ideas. Polish troops attacking German tanks on horses with sabres-kind of shit. Or Polish pilots flying biplanes yet somehow they had the best shot down scores in RAF flying the latest tech Spitfires. I'm fed up with an image of a brave Americans created by Hollywood. When there's so many stories of bravery among British, French, Polish etc troops.

If polish army was so bad why Germans lost 1000 tanks and armored vehicles (30%), 700 planes (32%) used in attack. Poland fought only 1 week shorter than France with British support despite French and Brits having less outdated equipment than Germans having similar number of troops, tanks and planes as Germans. And France had to fight only on one side compared with Poles fighting with Germans attacking from west, north, south and two weeks later Russians from the east.

I just wanted to use that argument to prove they were so good because of previous experience in Poland. They were not flying in Poland in some shitty outdated biplanes only. German propaganda painted a false picture of Polish forces. Luftwaffe lost 1/3 of their planes attacking Poland. That wouldn't happened if they'd flew biplanes.

It's based on german propaganda. A bit false.Polish planes were only 3-4 y older than german .Most of them monoplanes. Poles were using same tanks as brits and french. (improved english Vickers E. , french renault R-35). Germans destroyed only practise planes on the ground. Rest was operational for the next 2 weeks until Russians attacked on the other side.Every army in europe at the time was inferior to german army with outdated equipment. Germans and Russians used Horse Cavalry not only Poles.
