I got an NES in the early 90s when I probably should have got a SNES that just came out. Anyways I chosed Zelda II over the original Zelda manly because of the graphics.  Top down gameplay view to me then just looked to plan dated. Zelda II utilized what was then popular 2D side scrolling.

@drdst17 It's a good game but with really annoying features, such as walking on the map and being stopped by bugs without any sword to denfend yourself. Dark caves takes time to find a way to lighten them up, which is kind of late in the game. The saving password process is not that helpful either. Props to the entire map though and a good sidescroller game, but as a kid, you really need the Nintendo Power magazine, juste like for Zelda I and many other games.

I remember this commercial. It has to be from about 1987, '88 or '89. I was an 80's kid and played Nintendo. I loved Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros. This commercial was really well made because they had a set and a guy in costume as Link and it wasn't as corny as some previous commercials with funny comedian types. Great memories! Lots of Nintendo Nostalgia

Ghostbusters II on NES was near horrible. I recall a lot of these games when released on the original system. Zelda II was great, but extremly hard in my view. Hard not being a bad thing considering today's cames seem like breezes to get through (in my view).
