Super mario sunshine: ending with 120 shines

I hated this game because it was a huge letdown after Mario 64, the Fluud was a stupid gimmick, and its difficulty was too much to be enjoyable. Then when I beat it I hated myself for not getting 100% complete like Mario 64. But now I see why I never bothered, nice to know I get literally NOTHING.

well, I didn't find the shines that bad to collect, except for the ones you had to find blue coins for. I HATE BLUE COINS!!

... A picture? The only difference in the secret ending??? That is so stupid! It should've been something super cool! Collecting 120 Shine Sprites must've been extremely hard! Especially with how hard this game is! (Although I do believe Super Mario 64 is A LOT more difficult than this...)

@danobou. Funnily enough I thought the opposite. Mario Sunshine has alot more difficult shines than Mario 64 had difficult stars. I.e. the secret red coin levels of Mario Sunshine vs. TIck-toc Clock + Rainbow Ride. Actually, when you say it like that, sounds about equal.

Could you please tell me what the total of Shine Sprites would say? (By "total" I mean it where it shows the map of all the worlds you've been in. You press Z to open it up.) If I click the Shine Sprite, (Which has the word "total" above it, and "click" below it,) it'll show up. What would it say if I had 120 Shine Sprites?

(How many Shine Sprites next to a level, how Shine Sprites in Delfino Plaza, and how many in Delfino Airstrip?)

@batursi I reccomend you to use a guide from GamefaqsDOTcom, I used it in order to get every shine. There are 2 shines in total in delfino Airtrip, And like 24 shines with the blue coins.

The only difference I noticed from when I beat the game without 120 shine sprites (just a second ago actually) was that vacation picture. Seriously Nintendo? Is that all you could came up with? Sad... I was going to get all 120 but now I'm glad to know I shouldn't waste my time.

the old man in the white coat is professor Elvin Gadd, the same that created fludd. He first appeared in Luigis mansion, game that came before mario sunshine.

Youre right, but the ending is not what makes me mad, ITS OBTAINING EVERY SHINE IN THIS GAME, seriously, its one of the hardest things Ive ever done in a videogame.

It made me feel bad that I spent around 2 weeks of summer to achieve this, atleast I recorded it :S

Yeah I felt the same. I think that getting the 120 shines is way harder than gettind the 120 stars in mario 64 or in mario galaxy, especially for the blue coins =S

I mean gee, I used a guide to find the blue coins, and it still was hard finding them!

El juego era viejo y queria tener el 100% porque me gustaba y queria ver que tenia. Ademas use guias, no te creas este juego es peluo y muy frustrante.
