  • @helter69skelter

Because the Beach Boys' fan know for a fact that Brian Wlson was the true genius of the band. He was as influencial as Mozart whereas Mike Luv could have been singing for Chicago or the Bangers Sisters it would have made no difference to the BB's (plus his lawyers are really picky).

  • Great....I'll take a flat from that man any day of the just to hear his voice,,,,,he is what makes music....

  • Great....I'll take a flat from that man any day of the just to hear his voice,,,,,he is what makes music

  • Ouch that was hurting...

  • Man he was flat as a pancake, someone shouldve turned up his monitor!

  • you nailed it bobcat... Brian is a unique genius...on a par with Bach, Mccartney, Lennon, etc...we won't see the likes of him in our lifetime

  • This bites.

  • Brian is still handsome and sexy too and so is Al Jardine and the rest of the surving Beach Boys

  • @coolsweetgroovy Yes, the Beach Boys who haven't survived aren't nearly as appealing.

  • @Moshpith ok

  • Brian is still handsome and sexy too

  • Brian can still sing well sometimes, and control his voice well...sometimes. He seems to at times to not want to sing well and enunciate clearly, or maybe sometimes he just can't. Listen to "Wind Chimes" on Smile...he sings a big chunk of that piece with no doubling of the lead vocal track, just his one voice, and it sounds great, even in the high register. Not like the Brian of 1967, but still very sweet and pretty. But then listen to how he roughs up the lead vocal on "Surf's Up"...weird.

  • Brian is lucky to be anywhere........

  • Agreed! Just like everyone else, Brian has good days and bad days. Some days he sounds great, and others...well,he's having a bad day. We all have them!! At almost 70 years of age, I would be lucky to feel good enough to do all he does! He does it because MUSIC is his whole LIFE! As long as he feels well enough to do it and still enjoy it, he should continue. He is still wowing audiences. More power to him!

  • @Okiemom50 agree also. I only wish I had his energy and drive...and I am only 39!

  • Have idolized Brian's genius since 1969....So sad to see him in this shape...

  • RRodrig923@aol.com: Great stuff

  • Brain is nearly 70 and he used to smoke 5 packs a day, yes his voice is gonna be fucked, but he sounds exellant for his age!!

  • Ame, Cad. And Crapitol has made s butt-load of money from dozens of these "compilations", all while the Beach Boys were without a label. I don't think Brian would be too pleased with this rehearsal performance getting out on YT.

  • To this day, Brian is now considered one of the most influential and most innovative songwriters and producers ever. Many artists look in awe of him and really gain a lot of inspiration from the music that he created long ago and the music that he is creating now.

  • dorkhunter more like dickhead!!!!.

  • @dorkhunter

    B-L-A-S-P-H-E-M-Y

  • Wow....that's Scotty Bennet on drums! That is one tallented sumbitch...plays keys, guitar, bass, sings his butt off.

  • come on guys don't say things like Brian shouldn't be singing this song, or this isn't good footage for a promo and things like that. Last time i checked he didn't need anyone's permission to do anything. his song, he can damn well sing it anyway he wants to, who are you to say different? martinaxman when you are 65 I want you to sing better than Brian, good luck you will need it, just lay off man, he has paid his dues millions times over, as for you you will never be as good as he is.

  • Agreed!! A fan since '65...born with them!

  • I agree. But we are still entitled to say when Brian sounds like crap. It is frightening and depressing to hear him sound so bad, 'cause i love him so much.

  • Frightening? The guys nearly 70 for gods sake! Look at some live videos on here recently-he has some very good performances yes he hasnt got the high voice anymore and he has his off days but he's still better than all this shite we get to hear nowadays.

  • He still needs to know when he should quit...

  • I don't want him to quit, why should he? He enjoys himself and people still pay to see him. He's a legend.

  • Cool!!!!!!!!

  • Genius, Mr. Brian Wilson

  • Brian's voice is not as good as was in the golden era of the Beach Boys, but who cares? He is a genious and I like to hear this song from him - from an old singer who is not good at all but he is the original one and nobody is better than him.

  • Love Brian

  • I love all kinds of rock, but the Beach Boys are an incredible sound. Like Johnny cash, they were unique. Brian Wilson does not sound good now, but he is a musical genius. The Beach Boys are the best.

  • You people need to learn respect. Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys are at the least, U.S. music icons. Brian Wilson was very talented in the music industry. I am saddned by what has happened to him over the years. Don't mock..pay respect and enjoy the music.

  • Respect? Come on. These guys are entertainers. Should I respect Bradjolina as well? If I saw either of them on the street, I may give a whasup. Maybe a so-called commie fist bump. They all eat and shit like everyone else. They just won`t be as cool as the Beach boys to me.

  • douchebag

  • Seems he's struggling with this one. It's also apparently impromptu. Yeah,it sounds a little slurred and occasionally off key, but that could just be age and the lack of good monitors (so he can hear himself sing). Arguably Brian Wilson is a musical genius. I didn't believe it initially, but after examining his full pallet of work I've grown to embrace it. Do some YT research and see what he's done and what other musicians think. It's well worth the time.

  • My comment was not meant to downgrade the Beachboys. I love their music and they are unmathced in some areas. Brian was a leader in musice and used voice and instrumentation. I was just refering to that particular song. The 60's music scene and beyond would not be the same or as good without them.

  • I should have said, due to Brian's medical conditons, Brian's delivery of this song is not up to his standards, but still credible, considering.

  • what's the name of this lyric?

  • The song is called wouldn´t it be nice.

  • Yes, it would!

  • I grew up on the Beach Boys music and still listen to it today, they where icons. But this is not good and does damage to their reputation - which is unwarranted.

  • Scott Bennett drumming, very interesting

  • Brian shouldn't be singing that high. He can still sound okay when he sings bass/baritone, but he's no tenor anymore. Age (65), alcohol (1960s-1980s), smoking (late-60s-early 80s; early 90s), cocaine (late 60s to early 80s)...whatever you attribute it to, his voice has gone downhill. But he can still sing...they just shouldn't have tried to get him to sing "Wouldn't It Be Nice" in its original key...even I can't do that too well, and I'm 23 and a tenor.

  • this aint the best example of their work, if i were you i'd black list the director of this effort and give one of the best vocal bands in the world another go. the smile album is a recognised work of genius as is petsounds. they rock dude

  • but Mike Love seems like a cocky bitch. That sort of changed things for me

  • yeah, unfortunately I agree. not an effective promo for one of the world's greatest songwriters!

  • Let's just admit it. The bottom line is if it wasn't for Brian Wilson, Mike Love would still be pumping gas

  • Carl and Brian the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike Love gives me the dry heaves!!!!!

  • whew I thought i was the only one who thought that! All kidding aside The BB are the best no matter what age you are!RIP Carl & Denny & Al please come back

  • LOL HEHE HAR HAR~~~~@@@!!!!

    ok!

  • @cadmaster101...you're ridiculous....

  • @cadmaster101 If you had any concept of reality you would know that nobody pumps gas for work anymore...

  • brian is awsome, but i also think that mike is just as important to the beach boys formula,i mean his voice says surfing/beach boys.though he is cocky, but at the end of the day its all about the music, the beach boys are a staple of rock and roll greatness

  • Mike really "thinks" he's the key to The Beach Boys success, however I think he was always jealous of Brian Wilson.

  • I think what made/makes him the most crazy is that Brian can sit home and collect major royalties while Mike's financial troubles require that he stay on the road constantly to earn his money...

  • FUN FACT: Beach Boy's singer Mike Love believes he is god, but in reality we know if God was a member of the Beach Boys, he would be Brian Wilson.

  • @Bobcat14Ammo where are you getting that nonsense from? Why all that hatred towards Mike Love? You should lighten up a bit, go outside, enjoy the sun and use your energy for something positive... Djeezzzz....

  • @Bobcat14Ammo FUN FACT#2: Mike Love can suck it!!!

  • @Bobcat14Ammo

FUN FACT: You enjoy sucking cocks.

  • @ActionRadar886 why you so angry?

  • @Bobcat14Ammo yeah ! Mike no-Love would think he was God..but we know he's a Dog. no actually thats unfair,, dogs are quite loyal and friendly ,,he just a Kunt. ,,,actually i cant cop al jardine either.

  • Great ! Do you got more WOTS-promo-videos like this?

  • Isn't the news about the 40th Anniversary Pet Sounds release a bit old? That came out last year..

  • Yeah kinda strange. Anyway, it's great to see Brian and Al together again. I think it's great to see Brian getting a little more into promoting new Beach Boys-stuff.
