@naynaychicka all of this shown is free but this wont allow you to change your carrier. this is hardspl unlock which unlocks you so you can flash custom roms to your device... bascially it unlocks the phones bootloader and not the phone itself.
@fcs1965 your should work fine, did you flash a custom rom to it afterwards? all this does is give you the option for a custom rom. after you flash the rom you will want to install the carrier cab for your service provider.

I just tried the unlocker downloaded the latest version and it gives me a WInrar Diagnostic message saying cannot execute and the file destination... Any help? Please!
@dnpmoney sounds like you didnt disable your virus protection. what happens is that in wm and windows on your pc many files are in common. this is a batch to one of those files that changes some things around. your virus scan reads this is a virus trying to do that to your computer so it is corrupted and vaulted to keep you safe. if you disable that than redownload and run you shouldnt have any issues.

@iamdasht19 I would be happy to know more about this! I have been very curious lately about the registry edit on windows mobile 6.5. That file doesn't work it just shows up as a white blank icon then when I click it I get a popup error a(Windows cannot access the specified device path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the file.) <---Windows XP, if I click okay it disappears and deletes the file.

@rgmario69 no this only unlocks for roms... for metro you would need to get your msl and change some of the code on the phone.. look into msl grabber and than for a tutorial thread at smartphonejunkie for flashing to metropcs. i have done a couple without any issues and they work great! you will still need to pay the fee for them to add the esn to their system though since we can get our hands on hudini to add it but dont have an employee login.
@z28maroguy i could but it would cost you shipping to me and than back to you and than the price of the unlocker and a little for my time and gas to the post office... it really isnt that hard to do and you just follow the steps... if you do it yourself your looking at under 20 bucks... if you have to end it to me you are looking at a total around 50 bucks when all is done and said... willing to do it but your call.. let me know if interested through a private message here

@stephenruggieri no i dont have a video on that since i didnt have the use of unlocking one personally and it costs 18 bucks... but at the saem site as the unlocker that is linked in the description you can get the sim unlocker... you run it the same way as you see in this video for the most part and is very easy to do.. it will allow the phone to be used with t-mobile and att than.... just wont work with verizon

@FilthyFletch unlocking wont do anything for you and there is no use unless you go to a custom rom.. all this is doing is unlocking your phone for custom roms not other providers if that is what you think

Hey, awesome tutorial! I used it on my Sprint TP2 to put on MightyROM. I have a question for you - now that my phone is unlocked and has been flashed, if I want to try another custom ROM can I just overlay Mighty? Do I need to do anything special beforehand, like doing a hard reset?
@porkstamina yup all you would do is go through the same process and flash again. after the flash pull the battery and hard reset once to make sure it is all cleared out than start enjoying your new rom. also glad that this tutorial helped you in getting unlocked
So, I can get to the point where it tells me to "click okay and wait" after I select automatic flash before I get an error message telling me that the program has stopped working and windows is searching for a solution. I've tried to re-download/re-install and the same thing keeps happening. Do you have any solutions?

i need ur help. i just bought the TP2 verizon (used) from somebody. i wanna use that phone for gsm network (ex: Tmobile). after i inserted the sim card, its running smooth. n then i tried to switch to gsm network. after i've switched to gsm network. it won't work. it says no service. so what should i do?
@76andrian you will have to have the phone on verizon for 60 days and get an unlock code from them or pay 15 bucks and get the unlock code from one of the 3rd party groups on the net
dash i need help! i have replacement tp2 and i cn't getthe hardspl to unlock because of commercial use error. its the same registered number and it's a personal cell. i did open a ticket on 8/24/10 i recieved no response. fyi i did not have the imei number becauseit's a refurb replacement and i don't kow to get it off verizon phone the at&t code doesn't work i tried
@bqspearman i cant free up the unlocker. but if you have a computer at a buddies house you could use than you will be able to unlock. it gives that error off of your mac address. if you dont have access to another computer and internet connection than you are going to have to wait for a reply. remember they do this for free so it may take some time for them to get back to you.
@BoiRomeo09 as said in the responses below no. you have the gsm version, the steps are the same but you need to use the gsm unlocker and gsm roms... you can find the unlocker at the same place as the one linked just make sure it states gsm use only
when i run the automatic flash it gives me a error messages saying make sure my pkone is synced in which it is then it tell me to install a sync cab to my phone (hpcmonex.net/roms/enablerpinew.cab) and when i go on address it says user reached its data limit :o please can you help i would like a custom rom but i cant Hardspl
Yup. Hard reset done and the battery status works fine. But my start button on the bottom sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Well at least the start menu on the top screen is functional 100% of the time. Thanks for your help.
@sourcow56 no thats not normal and did you flash a rom or just this.... this only gives you the capability to flash custom roms and without flashing a rom your still stock what rom did you flash and did you hard reset after the flash?
i tried to do the automatic hard-spl but everytime i try it always has a error saying make sure the device is properly sync and tell me to install a cab, it is synced and i tried to install the cab but doesnt work

I buy a RhodiumW, i have successfully make the HardSPL back then on this pc right, but i dunno how i screw it by installing a ROM that WAS NOT for RhodiumW, yea dumb me, the phone was only turn on and stops in the start screen that says Touch Pro2 in white with black at the bottom, it freezes in there...

@Lvcio91 yes it wouldnt boot due to the wrong radio, but flashing over to stock will fix it... btw this isnt olipro or cmonex this is dash so your not going to get a comment from them on this channel.
i cant seem to find a hard spl unlocker that works. when i go to unzip he files are empty. i have modied this phone before (verizon tp2)i just got a replacement. recently
Im looking at putting the e2 rom 2.5 on my Tilt 2, and it says the rom doesn't include the radio. Does this mean i have to search elsewhere to get a new/compatible radio, or will my phone work w/o changing the radio?
@mzdre329 are you a tmobile or att user? if so you have to use the gsm version as stated in the video... this is cdma only which is sprint, verizon, and metropcs.
I'm gonna try a microsd flash tomorrow when I get my TP2 (GSM/euro).... cant wait.

@thesweeney80 thanks and i would go with nrgz because you are gsm and need a gsm rom... check out xda and spj for some roms... i would also check out valkerie rom as well since his are always good. (valkerie firestorm.)
THANKS FOR ANSWER... yes i tryed to install: MightyROM_RhodiumW_052410.exe MR.X_RhodiumW_2.1_03-03-10.exe MR.X_RhodiumW_2.5_Release.exe but all the 3 installations get stuck at 0% in the progressive bar. nothing is flashed so I can use my old windows 6.1 (with Touch Flo 3D) after removing the battery and started again the device. how can solve this problem? why cannot install? all the 4 steps required are fine: 1. connected, 2.battery more then 50% 3.active synch connected etc..

@GuitarGirl1406 you need to download winrar onto your computer... or 7zip will work as well. an rar file is a way of compressing the file so it isnt as big thus cutting down on upload and download time for the developer and consumers alike.

Ive been trying to flash my ATT Touch Pro 2 or (Tilt 2) but cant get it to flash . I downloaded rhdiumw but it keeps giving me a era that Im not conected to active sync but i can sync music an browse my files on my phone am running on vista. do u have any idea what i am doing wrong
@supeiz32 your on att so you need the gsm version not the cdma version linked here... you can find the gsm version for att and tmobile at the same site though.
does this make your phone lag or anything like that. Any ways have a question after you finish downloading flash how do you hard power or start for a t mobile version
@MrGkila1 no its not an app just changes the bootloader so doesnt lag and custom roms make your device faster not slower. and you will need the gsm version of the unlocker and you can find that at xda-developers this will brick your device if you try to use the one to the right.
@FreddyFred0001 to be able to run custom roms which have the bloatware as well as many tweaks done to them to make the perform faster, and more stabily as well as give you some extra goodies like upgraded operating systrems and many oher things. check out smartphonejunkie, ppcgeeks, and xda-developers for more info
i do have a question after i unlocked the phone and installed the mightyrom my touch screen is not as accurate I have to push the screen several times to get it to respond what could have caused that

Do I do the same thing here (skipping the unlocking part of the vid) to flash from Silence to Mr. X, or is there a different process to it? Thanks. do i lose my contacts when i unlock my phone, or does that happen after i flash a ROM? because i wanted to back up only my contacts, and i heard about an app called PIMBackup. i think you need to have the phone unlocked before you can run it though, which is why i asked. outlook isn't really my thing.
yes you will and you dont need to be unlocked to use pimbackup.... you can downlaod by typing into google and clicking on first link and than jsut run and choose what you want to back up and save that on your storage card than install pimbackup and chooser restore and the file that you made and your good to go.
will do, you're the best. i just flashed my sprint tp2 to mr. x's 2.5 rom :). it runs great; very fast and eye-appealing. by the way, though, how do you install .cabs? for example, i wanted to put some sprint exclusives back on, as well as download some new apps. do i just put the .cab on the root of the memory card and run with file explorer?
yup you can place the cab anywhere on the card. (i personally place all my cabs in a folder named cabs) than you navigate to the cab file and click on it and choose main memory as the place to install and your good to go... you found all the sprint stock stuff in the posts correct?
My phone disconnects from Activesync after I run the Hard SPL and I have to take the battery out to restart it. Then when I reconnect it and try to make the final step to unlock, it disconnects again. Anyway to fix this?

it will disconnect, mine did the same and i explained that it will show not connected on your computer but if it says usb and not serial on your device your fine... dont unplug it during the flash.... watch the steps and you will be fine.
thanks for the feedback. the problem is that the program reports an "error 260: Connection" and it can't complete the unlock. i'm not sure if it has anything to do with me running it via parallels.
did you do as it said and disable the virus scan first beofre running sicne that can block the connection and such to your phone.... sicne you ran or tried to a couple times it might require you to pay or email them for a response... in the email to remote unlock for free again you have to include your imei number
yeah, i disabled the virus scan and i don't think it's an issue of having to pay. it seems to be a connection issue because activesync shuts down completely after the second disconnection and then i get the error message from the unlocker. it asks me to check the connection. maybe mightyrom is not for me.
its not the rom..... and wwhat oyu mean maby its not for you... your trying to unlock and not flash the phone to a custom rom correct? sometimes it does that when you read so email them at the link in the description to the right (bottom link where if having issues) and send them your imei included in there and they will respond within 2 days anf you will be good to go... my buddy was having the same problem and seems to be with spritn majorly.
But if it's mightyrom can you just let it reeboot after flashing and go to settings and imput the 1234 code then reboot as an alternetive to hard rest ?
any rom you can do with that with not just mighty (stock has it as well) i find it not to be as efficient as doing it manually and on top of that you have to wait for the whole thing to boot... also you have to take the battery out for around 30 seconds if possible so it clears out all the information and starts from fresh.

I mean the first boot up of a rom is the set up, which is like a hard reset isn't it? So it wasn't really necessary to do a hard reset?
Did you do a hard reset before flashing? Did you hard reset the previous rom before flashing?

@stephenruggieri no i dont have a video on that since i didnt have the use of unlocking one personally and it costs 18 bucks... but at the saem site as the unlocker that is linked in the description you can get the sim unlocker... you run it the same way as you see in this video for the most part and is very easy to do.. it will allow the phone to be used with t-mobile and att than.... just wont work with verizon

@FilthyFletch unlocking wont do anything for you and there is no use unless you go to a custom rom.. all this is doing is unlocking your phone for custom roms not other providers if that is what you think

Hey, awesome tutorial! I used it on my Sprint TP2 to put on MightyROM. I have a question for you - now that my phone is unlocked and has been flashed, if I want to try another custom ROM can I just overlay Mighty? Do I need to do anything special beforehand, like doing a hard reset?

@porkstamina yup all you would do is go through the same process and flash again. after the flash pull the battery and hard reset once to make sure it is all cleared out than start enjoying your new rom. also glad that this tutorial helped you in getting unlocked

So, I can get to the point where it tells me to "click okay and wait" after I select automatic flash before I get an error message telling me that the program has stopped working and windows is searching for a solution. I've tried to re-download/re-install and the same thing keeps happening. Do you have any solutions?

i need ur help. i just bought the TP2 verizon (used) from somebody. i wanna use that phone for gsm network (ex: Tmobile). after i inserted the sim card, its running smooth. n then i tried to switch to gsm network. after i've switched to gsm network. it won't work. it says no service. so what should i do?

@76andrian you will have to have the phone on verizon for 60 days and get an unlock code from them or pay 15 bucks and get the unlock code from one of the 3rd party groups on the net

dash i need help! i have replacement tp2 and i cn't getthe hardspl to unlock because of commercial use error. its the same registered number and it's a personal cell. i did open a ticket on 8/24/10 i recieved no response. fyi i did not have the imei number becauseit's a refurb replacement and i don't kow to get it off verizon phone the at&t code doesn't work i tried

@bqspearman i cant free up the unlocker. but if you have a computer at a buddies house you could use than you will be able to unlock. it gives that error off of your mac address. if you dont have access to another computer and internet connection than you are going to have to wait for a reply. remember they do this for free so it may take some time for them to get back to you.

when i run the automatic flash it gives me a error messages saying make sure my pkone is synced in which it is then it tell me to install a sync cab to my phone (hpcmonex.net/roms/enablerpinew.cab) and when i go on address it says user reached its data limit :o please can you help i would like a custom rom but i cant Hardspl

Yup. Hard reset done and the battery status works fine. But my start button on the bottom sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Well at least the start menu on the top screen is functional 100% of the time. Thanks for your help.

i tried to do the automatic hard-spl but everytime i try it always has a error saying make sure the device is properly sync and tell me to install a cab, it is synced and i tried to install the cab but doesnt work

I buy a RhodiumW, i have successfully make the HardSPL back then on this pc right, but i dunno how i screw it by installing a ROM that WAS NOT for RhodiumW, yea dumb me, the phone was only turn on and stops in the start screen that says Touch Pro2 in white with black at the bottom, it freezes in there...

Im looking at putting the e2 rom 2.5 on my Tilt 2, and it says the rom doesn't include the radio. Does this mean i have to search elsewhere to get a new/compatible radio, or will my phone work w/o changing the radio?

@GuitarGirl1406 you need to download winrar onto your computer... or 7zip will work as well. an rar file is a way of compressing the file so it isnt as big thus cutting down on upload and download time for the developer and consumers alike.

Ive been trying to flash my ATT Touch Pro 2 or (Tilt 2) but cant get it to flash . I downloaded rhdiumw but it keeps giving me a era that Im not conected to active sync but i can sync music an browse my files on my phone am running on vista. do u have any idea what i am doing wrong

@MrGkila1 no its not an app just changes the bootloader so doesnt lag and custom roms make your device faster not slower. and you will need the gsm version of the unlocker and you can find that at xda-developers this will brick your device if you try to use the one to the right.

do i lose my contacts when i unlock my phone, or does that happen after i flash a ROM? because i wanted to back up only my contacts, and i heard about an app called PIMBackup. i think you need to have the phone unlocked before you can run it though, which is why i asked. outlook isn't really my thing.

yes you will and you dont need to be unlocked to use pimbackup.... you can downlaod by typing into google and clicking on first link and than jsut run and choose what you want to back up and save that on your storage card than install pimbackup and chooser restore and the file that you made and your good to go.

will do, you're the best. i just flashed my sprint tp2 to mr. x's 2.5 rom :). it runs great; very fast and eye-appealing. by the way, though, how do you install .cabs? for example, i wanted to put some sprint exclusives back on, as well as download some new apps. do i just put the .cab on the root of the memory card and run with file explorer?

yup you can place the cab anywhere on the card. (i personally place all my cabs in a folder named cabs) than you navigate to the cab file and click on it and choose main memory as the place to install and your good to go... you found all the sprint stock stuff in the posts correct?

My phone disconnects from Activesync after I run the Hard SPL and I have to take the battery out to restart it. Then when I reconnect it and try to make the final step to unlock, it disconnects again. Anyway to fix this?
I have seen references to a manual hpsl but I can't find the file. Thanks for your help.

it will disconnect, mine did the same and i explained that it will show not connected on your computer but if it says usb and not serial on your device your fine... dont unplug it during the flash.... watch the steps and you will be fine.

thanks for the feedback. the problem is that the program reports an "error 260: Connection" and it can't complete the unlock. i'm not sure if it has anything to do with me running it via parallels.

did you do as it said and disable the virus scan first beofre running sicne that can block the connection and such to your phone.... sicne you ran or tried to a couple times it might require you to pay or email them for a response... in the email to remote unlock for free again you have to include your imei number

yeah, i disabled the virus scan and i don't think it's an issue of having to pay. it seems to be a connection issue because activesync shuts down completely after the second disconnection and then i get the error message from the unlocker. it asks me to check the connection. maybe mightyrom is not for me.

its not the rom..... and wwhat oyu mean maby its not for you... your trying to unlock and not flash the phone to a custom rom correct? sometimes it does that when you read so email them at the link in the description to the right (bottom link where if having issues) and send them your imei included in there and they will respond within 2 days anf you will be good to go... my buddy was having the same problem and seems to be with spritn majorly.

But if it's mightyrom can you just let it reeboot after flashing and go to settings and imput the 1234 code then reboot as an alternetive to hard rest ?

any rom you can do with that with not just mighty (stock has it as well) i find it not to be as efficient as doing it manually and on top of that you have to wait for the whole thing to boot... also you have to take the battery out for around 30 seconds if possible so it clears out all the information and starts from fresh.
