@MRsuperbored12 the bike has the least to do with it. your wheelset and calipers are what you should look at. there are 2 (to my knowledge) different kinds, one is a long brake pad, usualy for the mtbs, or higher end road bikes. and then you have the smaller brake pad for older road bikes, and bmx bikes. etc.

fuck. im so sick of people berly knowing what there on about and/or showing litle detail. im gona get a camera and film some of my own stuff. parcually just to show how kick ass i am.
i brake bads have groves but they are not gripping even when i press the brakes as hard as i can... do i need to replace the brakes pad or do something to the pads to make them have grip again?

you didn't have to replace those pads, those are aztec (made by madison) pads... they don't have grooves. they have that ridge line as a wear indicator instead. those pads had plenty of life left, and were of far better quality than the cheapo ones you replaced them with. doh!
Thanks, very helpful. I read somewhere to angle the leading edge of the pad so that it hits the rim first before the rear end of the pad. Is that true? Otherwise the brakes will squeal?

If they don't have grooves, why did the ones on the front have grooves? And they worked like crap. The ones I replaced them with were Shimano 105's.

@shyflirt1 I have shimano on my bike and they work like a charm!

It's called toe-in, but there is a debate over whether or not it's necessary.
oma121 3 years ago
they should also never squeal unless the rim is dirty or dampe
