As an audio engineer, I know that the magnet has nothing to do with the wattage of a speaker. The wattage depends on four things, first the voice coils ability to control and dissipate heat or the gauge of the wires used to wind the coils (regardless of the diameter of the coil), the second is the suppression's toughness, thirdly the surround's ability to expand like an accordion( This only applies to sub-woofers) and last but not least, the cones resistance to flexing.
the loudness is determined by either how much coil in between the north and south poles of the magnet, how close those poles are, the strength or force of the magnet and the how low the mass (weight) of the moving Assembly is in relation to the stiffness and surface size of the cone. And lastly the input wattage being applied to the speaker.
Gemini GVX-215 Passive or info on this new line of speakers. how is it that these things not posted, but the Gemini GVX-215 Passive line able to put out 3200watts each on a woofer mangnet of 60oz .i mean really right now my cerwin vegas psx253's each have a magnet size of 80oz 's and up, but can only handle 1500 watts max and useing the same 2.5 voice coil size woofer, something isnt right here with the Gemini GVX-215 Passive Dual 15 line.maybe il will sell my vegas..
could you please give me some feedback, about the sound quality of the gemini GVX speakers (the ones you are demonstrating in this vid.) they are incredibly cheap, even cheaper than my cheapest local brand, so how would those do for a mobile dj?
if they are good acording to you i'm going to but a set of those,
Hi J, love your vids! How about making a video (series) where you show the complete setup for a mobile gig? So turntables/cdj's, mixer, aps, speakers, lights, stands, tripods, etc.
@DjBrianProductions so far so good... the subs have a good punch, but you would deff need two for a big room two subs and two mid top would be fine for about 200 people.
wow youre so a good dj, earlier, I thought, DJing would only include Turntablism, but a really DJ also knows these things and tipps, thx for sharing J :)

If I buy an Active Subwoofer (15") and a Passive Mid/top, can I control the volume from the Mid/top on the Active Subwoofer?
I mean a set up like this: 2x Active Sub, 2x Passive Mid/top, then I want to put the Mid/top on the active sub.

Just a quick note with sub's if you put them in a corner the bass is louder and it gives it more of a thud so just a tip.

You were speaking on the placement of the mid/tops, theoretically would it not be better to put them up as high as possible? say... 8- 9 feet?
