Love the Russian 'Surge' in your interpretation!

  • Wow !!!!! Superb performance. The fluidity of this performance almost exceeds the one by Weiisenberg. To boot, this wonderful video was done on a small upright piano !!!!!

I am a long time admirer of Paul Barton, whom I consider as a great young pianist, as well as his beautiful wife, an also artist, who must be his muse.

The tutorials are wonderful, but Paul Barton should become a household name as a pianist, above everything else.

  • You certainly have a taste for the preludes Paul. It is difficult to keep up with all of your submissions. This is excellent (of course, what else would it be?). Thanks for sharing your magic with the world.

    Lalita

  • awesome

  • fantastic pianist and very good page turner

  • Thank you for the wonderful post, Paul. Rachmaninov wrote some of the most amazing preludes, and you captured the emotion in this piece brilliantly. I long to play this piece. When the time comes, I will consult your tutorial and begin down that long, hard, but no doubt rewarding trail.

  • Great*********!

    Amelia

  • Brilliant! Only a pianist like you can play this at this tempo with all the dynamic contrasts.

  • Bravo!

  • Wonderful as always, Paul

  • Great Paul! I really like that you did a lesson on this one:) When you do lessons on pieces other than the chopin etudes, do you take the pieces that you think are the most important to learn or do you just pick out difficult pieces that are great fun to learn??

The sound on your youtube videos is really good and it really makes it comfortable to watch your videos.

Btw have you heard Alexander Ashkenazy's version of this etude on cd? It's really good and the recorded sound is excellent:)

  • this is GREAT!!! incredible performance!!!! incredible touch!

  • Bravissimo Paul!

  • Brilliant ! Amazing!
