The White Sox telecast introduction was used from 1978 through its last season on WSNS in 1980. It's impossible to forget because the theme song was excessively over-the-top. Ginormous brain-exploding "YEAH!"s do leave permanent impressions, for better or worse...mostly the latter. Just another part of the soundtrack to some incredibly bad baseball.
Hello again Heine71, I have forgotten the exact name of the production facility, but the location of the production facility was in Denver, Colorado. I think it was called Computer Images, they were one of the first computer graphics company in the 70's.
During the decade that the Sox were on Channel 44, there were two different openings for the broadcast. One had shots of Chuck Tanner, Dick Allen, and the old red uniforms in the early 70's. Then this one came along in the Veeck era. They must have each been used for four or five years.
Maybe it's me, but that was kinda epic!
