  • This is Polish Folk song from the First XIX century. from Silesia region.

It is truth that some comments are stupid. But why you attend that is unimportant from where is originates song??

Why is necessary to buy up laws to play somewhere any song. Imagine that in Bolywood are singing now the song of Lady Gaga.

THE WAR Hindu - Gaga. Well, stop to write stupidities who cares from where the song is, because US POLES cares a lot..

And unfortunately this can be a Plagiarism, MUSIC BY SALIDA??

  • Thousands of songs are created by Bombay film Music Directors and they are sometimes inspired by foreign tunes. Thank God that they created such IMMORTAL SONGS. Thank INDIA for being so open to include and absorb ALL good things. Most tunes are ORIGINAL, but occasionally western tunes are also weaved in. Show any other land or people who can claim this!!!!!

  • The original Polish version is at youtube.com/watch?v=-z7KtSGjLx0 but I like this version.

  • lilting virtousity perfect panaccea for a troubled heart

  • Bimal roy's classic, salil chowdhry's soulful music dilip and vayjantimala's contribution made it an immortal coktail

  • Dear ananthu1996,

Ilayaraja's contribution to the song with the guitar piece is a published fact. Lata always said that Salil's tunes are different that others. When Dattaram was called for giving "Thheka", He asked Salilda what type he wants. Salilda replied that you can listen to my tune and decide yourself. Dattaram gave a totally different Thheka for Madhumati. This fact was told by Dattaram himself to me and it is recorded in his DVD too.

  • A very beautiful and passionate song.

If you search it on YouTube , you will find many versions of it, mine included..it is a cool song, my mother used to sing it to me 50 years ago. So, you can find it in Hindi, Japaneese, Russian, of course Polish..etc. Does not mean that this duo is not sweet, though..:)

bimalroys wonder . well perdormed by dilepp saab and vyjayanthi ma.

  • It is not easy to Indianize a foreign tune and to make it popular for next 50 years. He was a creative genius. Nobody used Mandolin and Obo combination like Salilda. His no tune is similar to other Hindi songs. Salilda is great beyond doubt. He was guru of Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar too. Tamil film music king Illayaraja was also his assistant for this film and the guitar in the starting was played by him. Music director Dattaram given the Thheka i.e Rhythm of Dholak for this film.

  • this is a foreign tune ? :S...WHATS THE SONG????

  • it's polish song, its titule is "szła dzieweczka do laseczka"

  • @SuperVasant . I am intreagued by the information that Ilayaraja played the guitar bit in the biginning. Are you sure,if it is,it is a wonderful combination. Dattarm did the dholak is also very unique. I will try to find out the Ilayaraja connection because he is alive and still going strong. At the recording studio Lata used to tell Salil, before she was to reherse a song for him "today I am going to sing a totally different song, different from other composer's tunes"

  • @SuperVasant

thanks for this very interesting piece of info

    basu

  • I'm an Indian and I'm not sure what the big deal is about acknowledging the fact that this is originally a polish song used by Salil Chaudhury, especially when the composer himself has said that that is the case. He has also used Mozart's symphonies in some of his compositions. Doesn't take away from his genius but I'm not sure why indians on this board are projecting a misplaced sense of patriotism.

  • dada afsos mat karo, aise vi ho sakte ki aagle janam mey aap vi bangali hokar jonom ley! mirracle happens!

  • Polish, German, Italian, who cares?

The best is one that toiuches your heart!!

  • I just saw this film for the first time today. Even though I'm 20, I have to say that this film is a timeless classic. It touched me so much.

  • polish song in hindi?

    bizarre but cute!

    ;-]

  • Nothing new !!! Check up the comments about the song here.. :).

  • Luv the song :)

  • Comment removed

  • Szła dzieweczka do laseczka - xdxd children song i lern this when i have 5 years LOL

  • This movie is the best ever. Vyjayantimala looks like an apsara, Dilip kumar is awesome, the songs and dance are surreal and Bimal roy's direction is superb to say the least. This movie has given me so much happiness. It has inspired me to become an artist ,a writer and a dancer. These great people do tremendous service by their talent. Thank you.

  • I dont understand when people find something in common why they fighting.. similarities should bring people closer and not drive them apart. I have come to know even there is a folk song in Khazakistan as well which is based on the same tune. So Polish, Khazak or Indian what difference does it make, if you like it ? enjoy it !

  • @1metropolitan1 : Very well said 1metropolitan1!

  • @1metropolitan1

I agree, of course, we like this or another version but unfortunately is called Plagiarism ;)

  • It's a nice cultural mixture. Only for fanatics there is always a reason to quarrel or make war instead of appreciating this nice song, whether it's paki, hindi or polish.

    How pathetic...

  • Leave out the crap comments....

Focussing back to the song ... its quite beautiful... I think it was shot around Nainital

in Uttaranchal.. My dad bunked college to see the shooting :D

  • And that's a nice story. If I were him, I would have done the same :D

  • ...by the time this beautiful ancient movie was release , my dad was only 10 years old,,,

I watched it on DVD and honestly I had tears in my eyes ....lol,,

  • I was shocked seeing this rasict comments on a beautiful song.Cultural mixsure is a reality today.Indians get inspired from the west and so do the west gets inspired from the east. You people are complete lunatics who cannot enjoy the essense of such a fantastic expression of music. If there is some kind of a authority n youtube i propose they shoud take necessary steps to prevent these kind of chauvinist/hatred comments.

  • friend, i totally agree with your view. In fine arts.. music.. all sorts of creativity, getting inspired or even creative copying is no crime. Many people do not know that even Romeo-Juliet was not Shakespeare's original piece. So why bother about people's comment who always try to find negative points in positive creation.

  • every movie might have certain 'authority' as the person who posts a vid can filter comments. personally i think everyone should take responsibility for what is written under one's video, but most people care more about the amount than the quality.

so anyway... dear owner, please, delete ;p.

  • This is inspired from a Polish folk song "Szła dzieweczka"

  • you are absolutely correct!thanks for the information.......i appreciate salil chowdhury's music a lot but it's not a pleasant feeling to see him copying tunes

  • I don't care where the song came from, its beautiful, love dilp kumar and vyjayantimala duo onscreen. and the lyrics of this song is so simple and cute. i never get tired of this song.

  • What the hell people?!#!@? Show some love! It's just a song.

  • Good song

  • Just enjoy the music.

  • Okay, so Indians and Poles are fighting now ... lol ... what has this world come to

  • classic... simply superb!

  • Ok, I seriously don't have the energy to read through all these silly comments.

Fact: the melody of this song is taken from a Polish song. Salil Chowdhury explicitly and openly acknowledged this.

Fact: Both the Polish original and the Hindi song are beautiful. Viva for inspirations.

    Indians: stop embarrassing yourself.

    Polish: stop being so smug

  • Goddamn Yankee redneck! You don't have the energy to read, but you just have to voice your stupid opinion, don't you. How typical. Indians embarrassing themselves? Shouldn't you be embarrassed of what you did in Abu Ghraib? You Yankees are even worse than Polacks - no history, no culture whatsoever, just big egos, big yaps and a lot of hot air. What is your biggest musical accomplishment - the Beach Boys?

  • whether it is created by our great salil da or a genius polish musician, i will enjoy and appreciate the song with same love and excitement. it's really melodious. I do not bother too much whether the first creater was an Indian or Polish. Music has not country, no boundary, no race.

  • thanks for the information about poland. and sorry for the comment above which is nothing but so much trash. of course it is a beautiful tune and the song is set to that tune. love it. there are many hindi songs that are based on european tunes and so much the better for it.

  • You retarded piece of shit! How dare you question the Polish sense of hygiene? Do you have any idea that the great contributions of Poland to the world include soap; anti-dandruff shampoo; and mosquito repelling ointment (not the horrible white one but the lovely pink one which smells of violets!)? In fact, the last one was invented by Marie Curie herself, who gifted a tube to Nils Bohr when he went to USA

  • ...and when Bohr reached the USA, the tube mysteriously disappeared. After a year, a patent for this same product was applied for by Mr. J.C. Patel of Jamnagar, Gujarat!

  • Stolen from India? Haha, don't make me laugh. Everyone knows that this was originally a Polish folk song... and at least the poles can sing; they don't need to record the song in a studio and then lip-sync it (badly) with the video like these amateurs have done. PS: How many people were murdered/shot/blown-up in the first five minutes of this Indian 'classic'?

  • It is true that lots of Old Raj Kapoor's film like Awara and other old Hindi film music tunes were liked and adopted by Eastern Europe countries like Poland and USSR in their music.

  • Dilip and Vijayanthimala in their best ever film, superb love story. She remains to me one of the sexiest indian actress ever, high calibre, different class and so natural. Pity she retired young.

  • The polish song is a folk song, so it would be simplistic. Salil Choudhary got "inspired" by the tune, but he remodelled to meet the tastes of Indians too. And he did a good job on it. His tune "dharthi kahe pukar key" is also an adapation of a russian march song. :)

  • Salil Choudhry just 'lifted' this tune from the Polish folk song "Szla dzieweczka do gajeczka"

  • Do you have any sense of history buddy? Poland existed as a nation during the time of World War 2. Which was when India was a British colony. Salil Choudhary got "inspired" by very many tunes like these.

  • Super song by Mukeshji from flim Madhumati

  • You bunch of low life you must have stolen from Hindi song !

  • guess there was no copyright issues 50years back when the indian musician copied it from polish. At least a billion people enjoyed the music..lol:)

  • Ye its true its old polish song called "Szla dzieweczka do laseczka" funny :)

  • Beautiful!

You must kidding,skatecik10492! Such an accusation is clearly deceitful and arbitrary.

India is the motherland of music, dude.

  • you people must have stolen this song from us...

  • send link to the song you talking abt

  • It is a folk song,so a copyright problem does not exist.Nobody stole it,somebody just got inspired.I guess you would have to up your attitude(and your language while you are at it)to understand it=)

  • Unbeleavable music. See their acting. Realy a nice song..

  • one of my fav songs

  • Wooow!! What a nice song.... These songs ,actors, singers... will forever remain in our hearts... New songs, movies cant compete with these old ones...

  • Salil Chaudhary's another soaring melody

  • nice one

  • same has u

  • It's oryginally a polish folk song. "Goes a girl into the wood" - it's the polish title :)

  • I thought it was Hungarian. Is it Polish then? What is the title in Polish?

  • Szla dzieweczka do laseczka (read like: shwah je - veh - chckah doh lase- chckah - more or less...) :)

  • Beautiful version of the song. I actually like it more than the polish one, but I guess one wouldn't exist without the other. Cultural diversity is where it's at. And the mix. That's where globalization was supposed to take us; not to McDonald's.

  • Thats Mukesh and Lata!!!

  • love dis song is it mohhamed rafi and lata?

  • i love my uncle dilip:) he is coming to london tomorrow yepee!!! i miss him

  • classicness!! cute song!

  • Fantastic song!
