Funny how his plane went down on the eve of his re-election. Funny how Cheney had told him that not voting for the war with Iraq would bring him serious repercussions. Funny how no legislator has stood up to Cheney since then.

Sen. Paul Wellstone was and still is my hero. For anyone interested in his life and his stance towards social justice, please do yourself a favor and read his book, "The Conscience of a Liberal." Also, you can view a wonderful speech of his (including q and a) at the Harvard IPO--the title of the event was: "The Unfinished Agenda: Race, Poverty and Gender in America." If anyone has more videos of Wellstone's speeches, etc., please post them. Thanks.
I saw Wellstone speak agains the "War on Drugs". I asked him about the influence of the Military Industrial Complex on policy making and he said it was huge. In his speach he also talked about internal elites making a huge profit on the drug trade. I should have known he was bound to be assesinated but is hard to imagine events around you will be history when you are part of them
