  • THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS

  • To Soulmusic274 - I thank you again.

  • His comments about celebrity and the Biz beginning @ around 4:45 are absolute gold for the aspiring artist.

  • are there any audio interviews with Marvin where he talks about Tammi?

  • Like!.

  • The person who didn't like this is a negative mutha!

  • I wonder how successful he would have been if he didn't pursue the entertainment industry. I think he would have been alive today. The entertainment industry is rough and seem to have sucked the life out of him. He was so smart and charming. RIP Marvin. I enjoyed your music, but I would trade it all in to hear your voice again and see your smile.

  • religion is B.S/But Marvin was great!

  • Marvin's so intelligent! (He's says he's 19 & a half in this interview). He speaks so well here!

  • good interview what year is this

  • brilliant. one of the greatest ever.

  • its nice to know Scott regan is still around

  • I agree with Johnny Carson. Marvin & artists owe their fans only a good performance. Nothing more & nothing less. Most great artist are like that. I include Miles Davis, Pharoah Sanders, Chick Corea, etc. It's a way to keep in real & not phony and it's the music that maters most.

  • WELL HE CERTAINLY PROVED 2 BECOME WHAT HE WANTED TO BE "IMMORTAL" BECUZ HIZ MUZIK STILL LIVEZ AND WILL CONTINUE FOR CENTURIES THRU OUR HEARTS AND THOSE THAT REMEMBER HIZ LEGACY AND APPRECIATE HIZ MUSIC...R.I.P. TO ONE OF THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME

  • There Are So Many Ways In Which Many Out There Have Used Words To Describe (or) Express How They Feel (or) Felt About Marvin Gaye.... But From My Prospective, We Haven't Found The Word(s) To Place In One Sentence (nor) Paragraph That Can Best Describe The Man, The Make Up Of: "The Son, Man, Husband, Father, Brother, As Well As A Friend... He Was and Still Is A Gift The GOD To Us All, Rather We Know It Or Not!!!

Rest Forever In Peace Brother Marvin (RIP)...

  • Thank you for this important piece of music history.

  • Marvin was such a great musician. Not only a great singer but he was a session DRUMMER too! I play drums so i know how it is. He was such a brilliant man and i'm glad i enjoy his music still till this fucking day. Thank YOU Marvin Gaye for all the great music man!

  • Did he say he was 19 1/2?

  • @88ritchie I think he was refering to the person whom he was telling the story about. Marvin was born in '39, so if he was 19 that would mean that this interview took place in '58 or '59. Now Marvin didn't began to reach even minor fame until I believe '64...so no...I don't think he was refering to himself.

  • Jesus has a Marvin Gaye poster on his wall.

  • Love and miss his honesty and integrity...

  • And you will be remembered always because often imitated, never duplicated...no other like you!!!

  • He really was a good guy at the end of the day. Life seems to shit on good people. I think he represents what artists are missing.

  • i think this is one of the most honest interviews i've ever heard. nowadays ppl are so afraid of losing endorsements interviews have become flat and much ado about nothing. i really felt i got to know a real piece of marvin gaye. thx!

  • yeah, when was this interview recorded? early 70s?

  • troubled (soul) man.

  • He was a very wonderful public speaker. Where did some of these pictures come from???? Some of them are very exclusive. Especially the pics of him and his family. Really good interview

  • did marvin jus say yesssiiirrrr at 21 secs lol?????? he probably invented that lol

  • i have this interview on my ipod...LOVE it!

8:20 --- Marvin def got wat he wanted!!

  • very nice, i really enjoy getting to know him all over again..

  • he achieved his goal of IMMORTALITY

  • What year was this interview? I really loved Marvin, I was only 17 when he died but I remember my mom playing his music all the time and then he came out with Sexual Healing and I loved it, thought he would climb back to the top but God seen differently. We are blessed to experience his legacy...what power and amazement he was.

  • GREAT interview!! what year this was done??

  • @ghanasoul Marvin Gaye was born in 1939. Per this interview, he's 19.5. I would say 1958.

  • This is TOO GOOD!!! Lovin' It.

  • Awesome post!

  • Thank you so much for that interview. Marvin always spoke very smooth and he was definitely intelligent. RIP, Marvin!

  • @timmy841212 NO...HE WAS STUPID!!...Nah, I'm just kidding. I love Marin.

  • @KrfNYC2 LOL I was about to say. ;) I know you were just kidding lol

  • @timmy841212 Word. And in case you couldn't figure it out, I meant to say "Marvin" as in Marvin Gaye the singer and not "Marin" as in the fish. Although I suppose those fishes are okay too.

  • @KrfNYC2 I know lol
